I can't even eat pizza--so why was I even here? I don't know. You tell me. I basically ate a crap ton of salad. My husband didn't like the pizza that much --but he's picky. So honestly, to each their own at this place. When we went it was absolutely crowded--but that was mainly our fault for going at that time. Service was mid. Noise levels were high. If pizza agreed with me I probably would have enjoyed it more. But it doesn't. So I didn't. You may like it. Lots of people I know LOVE it. Just don't go if you can't eat pizza, obviously. I'm being nice here. Staff was first rate and friendly. Establishment was very clean. Food was hit and miss. Salad bar was pretty good. Lots of everything and clean. Pizza would be ok if you got it when it first came out. Chicken was super market grade as were the Jo Jo's. Mashed potatoes were instant. Dessert cookie was dry but had flavor. This is classic buffet grub, I get it and it shows. I like what this company stands for and the way they run things but the food needs a serious upgrade. They are capable of better. read more

We went to those establishment when they first opened and we were clearly disappointed. We went there again the other day and we were thoroughly IMPRESSED The improvement in service and especially the food was really really delicious. Especially the chicken. Moist deliciously cooked. We did not read any reviews until after our visit. Therefore, we are not biased. Amazing, how some disgruntled employees can leave bad and negative reviews, to bad Pizza Ranch could rate you as well --- as a terrible, entitled employee........Rated five star, it was great. For under $20, you get it all. Not the greatest pizza, chicken, food, etc --- but way above average. Pizza - great selection. Comes out fast with different crust styles. You can special order, they give you a buzzer and put the pizza aside until you get your share BEFORE putting the pie out to the public. The salad bar was clean and had a great variety. The salad dressings were cold and in these pick up and squeeze from the bottom containers, very clean! The chicken, well it was gas station fried chicken, which I love. Just my style. Mashed potatoes, yeah instant. Steak fries were great! Dessert - choc chip cookie on point, hot and gooey. Service was top notch, staff was hustling - you finish a plate, they grab it. All were friendly and smiling. I had to ask the young man the tipping policy and he was curious with a yes sir and no sir, to bad they share tips - he deserves extra, good kid. if read more

Left Custer and read reviews on the way to Billings Montana. After reading them I decided I would call the corporate office and see if they had received any knowledge of how disgusting this place was. They had received nothing and I told them what I had read and recommended they read them. Since Pizza Ranch became a favorite on our trip we decided to stop and take a look. My wife dropped me off at the door and I went in and checked it out. It was as good or better then any we had been in. It was clean. The kid who cleans tables was very attentive almost to the point of to attentive. The food was great. They even had more on the salad bar then some previous ones. I realize everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I also realize that many times these reviews are untrue. Maybe people have a vengeance against this particular restaurant so they write negative reviews. Who knows if they've ever even been there. If you've enjoyed one Pizza Ranch I see no reason you would not enjoy this one. I don't think we just happened to go their on their best day ever. read more

I love Pizza Ranch. Have always thought all Pizza Ranches were just good, that is until I have eaten at the one in Gillette Wy! I thought perhaps I just hit it on a bad day, so have gone back twice. Nope just no good. Dirty, poor selection of pizza (there were 3 pizza's) the salad bar was a mess and the lettuce was brown. As I said dirty, nearly every table had piled up dirty plates and food (If the front looked that bad I would be terrified to see the kitchen area); there were no customers in the place so I don't know what the dirty tables were about! This is a fairly new as I believe it opened about 2 years ago. I think they need new management or the place will no doubt close. So sad about this because as I said we have eaten in a lot of pizza ranches and always loved them until this...Nope not going back to the one in Gillette! :( read more

It's ok, but not great, decent pizza but small selection. Large salad bar, and fried chicken. It's pretty much just 4 different kinds of pizza, a fried chicken bin, some noodles, and dessert pizza. I worked there for about a year and a half and it was the worst work environment I've ever experienced. Rey is a mean person who has no care for the people around him. There were many times were I was working 4 stations by myself while he was in the office often sleeping, he would yell at me for not doing a good enough job and many consumers heard and saw me crying afterwards. It's is a filthy establishment cleaning is not done well, i got told to leave the food on the buffet for over an hour because he wanted to keep the food coast down. He is truly awful to the employees many of them he bullies and name calls. I cannot stress enough how horrible of an establishment it really is. read more

Tired of the mistreatment of the employees by the guy with white hair; I think his name is Ray. When I was there, they had a bus, and with the place being packed the buffets were kept up a tremendous job but it looked like the table cleaners needed help, but Ray was and would not help anybody if someone was on fire. I watched one kid fill the buffet but ask about getting a table cleaned off, so he went to help the table cleaners, and that kid got reamed just for doing what I would want at a restaurant for customer satisfaction. Ray needs t o get some experience on how to run a business before that place is closed; pizzas on the buffet for 30 min and not being touched on a slow day, so pizza goes dry and turns tasteless, but he keeps it up there. I don't know if he is an owner or a manager. Still, he needs some training on how to run a business or needs to be turned into a silent partner before this business shuts its doors due to health department problems, the only thing good about this place is the chicken and that's it. Ray is insulting that I wouldn't even treat a child with special needs like he treats his employees. Not a kid friendliness unless you are fine with watching Ray yell and treat his employees like they were slaves. read more

I recently interviewed for a job at pizza ranch, during which I walked into the back where food is prepared. filthy is not a strong enough word to describe what I saw. overflowing trash cans, the stench of smoke (either from burnt food or cigarettes, I could not tell). I actually left the interview with a stain of god knows what on the back of my pants from sitting in the chair they provided. I was offered a job and obviously declined it. after what I saw in the kitchen and back office, I will never eat there again and I hope you do the same. read more

Not sure how corporate feels about a General Manager being rude to customers or even employees breaking the ADA law and along with not allowing a person to miss work for a clinical issue which is going against the CDC guidelines and along with the health inspector with that employee. I see it being very wrong making fun of people that are physically or mentally challenged not sure how the owners are feeling about this let alone how close they would like to be to a lawsuit because of the ADA laws and CDC with health inspector issues. Sub optimal. We ordered a large pizza and one of the toppings was mushrooms--we counted three on the entire pizza! The crust was blah, the sauce was almost non existent and had no flavor, the cheese didn't have any flavor, and the sausage, beef, and pepperoni didn't have flavor either. VERY BLAND! The hot wings were rubbery but the sauce was good. Wouldn't recommend and won't go again. read more
