Where do I begin? From the moment we got there, it was a train wreck. First, we got seated and were never provided any menus. Their excuse was they just assumed we were getting the expensive seafood buffet like everyone else. Interestingly enough, there were countless people who came in that also found it odd they weren't provided menus and requested them. Clearly, the manager told them to do it in an effort to get everyone to buy their buffet. My daughter's steak was supposed to be medium-well, but was still moo'ing. Service was subpar at best, but the food that was cooked correctly was pretty good. Restaurant inside Best Western hotel. Was there on a Thursday night and it wasn't busy at all. Decor could use some modern touches. For some reason young staff was seating everyone right next to each other in one area, but other side of restaurant was not used, making everyone feel a little crowded. Nice touch was they were letting everyone go to the (typical stocked from GFS?) salad bar even if your meal included a salad from the kitchen. Prime rib was a little fatty but not over cooked. As we drove cross country, we stopped at the Best Western in Gillette. They offered us a free drink at their bar, so we decided to have dinner at their restaurant, the Silver Creek Steakhouse. We weren't that hungry, so I had a buffalo burger which was good, but not great. My wife had a hamburger and also found it to be good. Being Friday night, the restaurant featured an all you can eat seafood buffet with crab and shrimp. The locals were definitely bellying up to the buffet table. At $23 it seemed like a good deal. Found this restaurant located at the Best Western in Gillette. Now Gillette is notorious for having poor service and mediocre restaurants. We decided to try the lunch buffet. I must say that it was the most amazing dining experience that I have had while living in Gillette. The staff provided exceptional service and the quality of the buffet was outstanding. We were pleased to find this little jewel of a restaurant in a hotel chain. We are looking forward to trying the Thursday night prime rib buffet. I highly recommend this restaurant. If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is mediocre at best. I have gotten better food at Perkins. The waitress told us its impossible to get fresh salmon in Wyoming. I have lived here my whole life and can assure you I have gotten fresh salmon at several resturants in Wyoming and nearby South Dakota. Not only was the waitress rude to us and other tables near us but everyone at my table had to send their food back to get it recooked and when it came back it was underwhelming. The salmon was so overcooked it was white! The salad in the salad bar was brown and we had to ask for it to be replaced, then the person brought out a big bag of salad mix and put it straight into the same dirty bowl. We didn't get the buffet because it all looked like it had been sitting there for some time. Honestly, go anywhere else this place serves diner quality food at steakhouse prices. read more

We stayed at the Best Western Tower West Lodge and we ordered steak dinners as a part of room service. FOOD: Good We ordered the 20 oz Porterhouse ($25) and the Ribeye steaks ($24). The velvety meat was well marbled and skillfully seasoned. Our dinners arrived within 20 minutes after ordering and were a juicy medium rare. Instead of a starch, we asked for double helpings of veggies. The medley of zucchinis, red peppers and purple onions were perfectly sauteed. SERVICE: Ok They were really busy and had to transfer me a couple of times. After placing the order, they called me back and asked what my starch was, even though I had originally indicated that I wanted to replace the starch with more vegetables. The tray didn't come with any condiments (i.e. steak sauce, salt or pepper). The food is tasty and the price is pretty reasonable for steak dinners. The Bison / buffalo items are GREAT coming from local bison herds. Bison "philly cheese"is filling and healthy Week days there is free "bar food" at 5;00. If you stay at hotel and walk I at 5 you can get food and drink ( with motel coupon) and pay nothing but a tip.. Ask and you may get a second drink coupon if traveling through.. My wife and I stayed at the Best Western while traveling to Chicago. Due to high winds we had to stop in Gillette unexpectedly and the hotel was in a convenient spot next to a gas station. The Best Western provided us two drink tickets for free drinks at the restaurant that includes any of the wine, drafts, and well drinks. Our server was Cyndy and she was absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome by making us laugh and chatting a bit with us. My wife got the Buffalo burger which had great flavor and delicious sweet potato fries that were thick and long, not tiny. I had the steak salad, but was hesitant because most places are light on the meat. However, not here. It was a full 8oz serving of thick and juicy steak cut into strips and placed on the salad. They also provide rolls with a generous serving of cinnamon butter which my wife also liked eating with her sweet potato fries. It was so much food we had to get to-go containers. Cyndy also got me a to-go Dr. Pepper in a huge cup! My wife didn't finish her wine but Cyndy said that we were allowed to take it back to our room at the hotel, we just couldn't take it outside. That was fine with us because she was able to finish it after dinner and didn't have to rush to drink it. Overall, food was great and service was wonderful! Cyndy was an excellent server and took very good care of us. We will plan to stop by again if we are ever passing through Gillette WY in the future. read more

We are on our way across the country, and after a long day of driving we found ourselves at the Best Western in Gillette. Too tired to go out and explore, the hotel restaurant was our choice. WOW did we get lucky with this place. The other reviews are absolutely dead on - the Silver Creek Steakhouse is not to be missed. Cyndy was our server, and she was an absolute delight, friendly, welcoming, and helped us with our selections. The bison skewers were melt in your mouth grilled to perfection, and the whiskey glaze was out of this world. Salads were fresh and plentiful. The massive burger followed, and was again perfectly cooked medium rare. My girlfriend and I were both so happy with our choice to go here, and if we are ever back in Gillette, there won't be a need to explore again. This place was complete garbage! The waitress was kind but obnoxious, and the food was deplorable! I had the ranch hand cut steak and asked for medium rare, and it was completely pink.
