Instead of writing it off as accidental damage, they charged us $75. In a market it's about 40-50. For a damage they should have charged cost or just resell at a discount. I'd never come back. A bit strange they'd place such valuable products in a small space where they can be accidentally knocked off the shelf by someone walking by. It's so tight in there.

My wife and I looked at each other, confused by the reaction. She asked him if something was wrong. We sat down, but by then she was too upset to enjoy dinner. I have never seen react that way. His reaction was way too out of place for us both to feel weird-judged, discriminated. I am still unsure. I told the manager that I honestly could not remember the last time I had seen a restaurant manager react to a customer that way. We got the whole combo: sigh, eye roll, and the look. It felt very 1980s. I thought we had moved past that kind of service, especially in a place like Greenwich. Apparently, I was wrong. Bad service still exists.
