Grabbed a menu and was not rushed to make decision and the counter person was pretty friendly. My order did seem to take bit longer then I would thought. The pizza slice was great, plenty of pepperoni coverage and sauce and cheese melted well, plus the crust was not burnt, but I will say the slice itself was pretty greasy. Now the panini the bread was well pressed and toasted, plus plenty of cheese, chicken and thousands island dressing, but fries on side, were a salt bomb, I mean they seasoned alright, but way too much salt on them, I had throw them out. There is some fierce competition in this area for pizza joints - 3 on Main Street alone, with some others less than 10 minutes away. After 2 years of ordering around and figuring out our family's favorite, these guys are the winners. Daily specials (we like the Friday one the best), consistently good pizza and even a great calzone make this a go-to when it's pizza night. I went tonight and not only was the food just ok at best, they brought my pizza slices burnt black on the bottom. it was uneatable. When I ask my waitress about it she was not nice or helpful. I had the vodka and pesto pie which turned out to be spectacular. The use of vodka sauce on a pie was quite clever and the crust had a pleasantly crispy undercarriage. This was our first time eating here and we really liked the food. We had a chicken parm dinner, ravioli, grilled chicken with pasta and some cheesy garlic breadsticks. The sauce was great, good flavor, not acidic, tastes homemade. The breadsticks were surprisingly tasty and crunchy. We really enjoyed those. Serving sizes were appropriate. The parm dinner fed my wife and I, but unfortunately no leftovers. They have a takeout window to limit traffic in the dining room which is great in the times of Covid. I used to love Pizza Plus but the food has gone down hill and so has the service. My daughter and her friend got pizza and the slices were burnt on the bottom, when asked about receiving new slices, they were turned down and given a lame excuse as to the reason the bottoms were burnt. We've been choosing this pizza place for a long while bc of the pizza quality and service. What a difference when you have one bad experience. We called for a pizza pick up and asked when can we pick up. The young woman who was very sweet on the phone told us 45 mins. So I asked should we come by a certain time so that the pizza is hot when we pick up. She told me when to come by. When my husband picked up at that time he said the pizza box was not hot at all. It was cold. So I called the shop to mention it to them. Another older woman got on the phone and she was so rude. Perhaps she was having a really bad day. She hung up on me. There are other pizza shops we have easy access to in Pine Bush and not to say we won't give it another try but it will be a long while. Costumers should never be treated that way no matter what. sadly after going here for years, on a monthly basis to dine in we have made the choice to stop giving them our money - first - we understand new staff needs to be trained but our server spent more time on her phone than waiting on the table. We had to get up and get drink refills, napkins and ketchup and cheese. second - I pay attention to my money - all of a sudden they have a 5% card usage fee "that they have had for years" - Well this is the first time - since we have been going there - since they were in Walden- that my check and my receipt did not match finally - food quality has slipped and not come back up and their prices are skyrocketing. We order the exact same meal each time we go - drinks, large pie half meatball and 2 New Yorker Paninis. Every time! The bill is always 43.50 give or take a few cents or if we get an appetizer. This time we got a rice ball app that was 10$. so 53.50? nope 73.50.Then the bill was higher and I was explained to about the card charge...that I have never seen before...but I said you know us...I got an app so take away 10$ and the tx and its about 20$ higher for the exact same order - the other server repeated my order because she knows us ( our server was on her phone at the counter too busy to give me the check) and she said "yeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhh our prices are up..I get it about the prices ...but 20$ more for a 40$ order? no way am I paying 63.50 for a large pie and 2 subs....so long Pizza Plus .. read more

Went there for dinner last night. We ordered fried calamari for appetizer. It arrived looking like onion rings and bad ones at that. The coating came off and they were slimy and smelled fishy but did not taste like calamari. We left them uneaten. My friend ordered chicken noodle soup; it tasted like soap. We ordered sweet potato fries for the three of us to share also and they were coated in salt. At that point we decided to cut our losses and go elsewhere rather than invest more money in horrid food. We choked down the sweet potato fries. My friends each had a fountain soda... we explained to the waitress that the food was simply terrible and we knew it wasn't her fault so please give us the check. They took nothing off of the bill until my friend asked that the soup be removed. I should have asked if they do the same with the calamari. Nearly $30 and a $10 tip for a waitress we felt sorry for. I been to this place three times now. My first experience was awesome. I had great service, food was good. The past two time have completely sucked. Tonight there was three waitresses and I could not get service to save my life. They say at the counter and jaw jacked. I literally had to walk to the counter to order. Got their menu w/ coupons in the mail recently so I decided to give them a shot. Somehow a small pizza (half margherita/half hawaiian), a tuscan panini, and a bottle of coke turned into $31 dollars and change. I called them up when I got home, and she said "Oh sorry, we charged you for a large pie by mistake, so we owe you $2. Next time you order, we will take $2 off". I did the math quite a few times - and even still I can't see how it was $31 - it just doesn't add up. I'll be going in tomorrow to get my $2 back and to see what the actual breakdown was. (not to order more food). Regardless - this is just unacceptable in my opinion. Now, my experience with the food: My pizza was half margherita/half hawaiian (big kahuna). The whole pizza was a little underdone. The hawaiian half was pretty good. Wish I tasted the ham a little more. The margherita half was not what I'm used to. With margherita - I'm used to big fresh tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, garlic, and fresh round slices of mozzerella. That was not the case here - there was no basil, no fresh mozzerella, and the sauce they used was a white ricotta sauce. Weird. The best part of the meal was the tuscan panini - Breaded eggplant, prosciutto, on sesame bread. Absolutely delicious. Bottom line: I won't be going back - Pudgy's has much better tasting pizza in my opinion - although even then, not really too great. read more

I have gone to this establishment several times with my wife and two small children. The quality of my dinner and service has varied. Sometimes very good, sometimes down right bad. The most recent visit was so frustrating that I will not go back. I ordered a meat Stromboli with mushrooms. I have ordered this from them several times. It was burnt on the bottom. Not just a bit more done than my liking, but down right crispy and black. I said something to the waitress. She said she would show it to the cook. Upon returning to my table the waitress explained to me that it was actually not burnt, it was the way the oven cooked it. They would not be able to make another one. Wow!! I was taken aback. Now burnt food is not the responsibility of the cook, rather the fault of the oven. Why not use tinfoil to stop it from burning. I can teach you how if you need me to. It is also funny how they used that oven to make me several Stromboli's in the recent past. It was insulting and frustrating. I know the difference between black from the oven and burnt. It looked burnt, it tasted burnt, and the bottom peeled off like it was burnt. I am not the only person to complain about burnt food here. Avoid at all costs! read more

My Grandmother used to live just down the street from this place, and she always alleged that it was the best spot to eat in town. Having now visited the place in excess of a dozen times, I can attest to her claims - Pizza Plus is great! The service has always been top-notch, whether I have ordered to-go or dined in. The waitresses are amiable and helpful, and as long as you do not act like a huge weirdo they will attend to anything you need, be it extra sauce, refills, or seating arrangements. I have never had an issue with my orders, but I imagine that they would be agreeable to anything (unless you are obnoxious or rude, of course). The quality of the food, for its price, is great. The gorgonzola cheese fries and Caprese paninis are my favorite, but all of it is non-greasy, flavourful, and well-cooked. The quantity of the food is immense, too! I would strongly recommend! The Ziti was inedible and I tossed it. It had a bitter taste and was extremely dry. Pizza also had a bitter taste - either too much Oregano or just bad sauce. The salad was good ( as it was not cooked by them). Too bad. This is the second time I used them. The first time was fine, but this time was terrible. Sorry, but I won't be ordering from them again.
