First, this place was a bit hard to find because it's in MassVR. If you want a beer you order it from MassVR counter. It's not difficult, just different. However, the pizza was great! The crust is thick but still crispy. I had Tuscan chicken and my husband had 3cheese. Neither of us finished and I'd say a couple could easily split a pizza. read more

Tried Pizza Payaa on a whim this summer after getting off the train. I'm vegan and have tried some pretty good pizzas but this one is by far my favorite. I go there everytime I take the train and went out of my way (I live in Peoria) to get it for my birthday. I have yet to have a pizza/app/cocktail that is less than excellent and the service is peak everytime. While the pizzas are "personal" but they're super filling and reheat really well in the oven. My only complaint is the price. 2 pizzas after tip and tax is around $60 (gulp). But it's worth the splurge every now and then. read more

Hands down the best pizza in Bloomington Normal. The crust is absolute perfection as it is crispy on the bottom and chewy in the center. Detroit style is a hard one to nail and they have definitely done it. Also, they have a pretty great selection of craft beer on tap that rotates periodically. read more

Earlier this month I was planning a work dinner with my team. Nervous that 19 people would be an issue, I emailed Pizza Payaa in advance to see if they could accommodate that large of a party. I worked with Josh to set up the reservation and order pizzas in advance. Which was so helpful. The dinner ended up being a huge success! We had more than enough room with the set up on the second floor with two large tables. Josh's suggestion for how many pizzas to order was incredibly exact, with only a small amount of left overs. The best part, the pizzas were delicious and the staff was amazing. Big props to the whole team at Pizza Payaa! I 100% recommend you go to Pizza Payaa. They have a great location in downtown Normal, which is right down the street from ISU, Marriott, and the Hyatt. I tried several different kinds of their pizzas and they were all great. read more

Highly recommend coming here. We had a delay with our Amtrak train and this was just down the block and wow it was amazing. Our server heather was awesome explained the menu and specials. We got the cheese bread, and the white garlic sausage pizza both were excellent filled us up and some of the best pizza I've had in awhile. Also got an espresso martini that was very good. Pizza portions are large (one person will likely have leftovers) and so are the salads. We get Pizza Payaa from their location in Bloomington. We attended the "soft opening" on 6/14 in Uptown Normal. I love their Honey Badger (my usual "go to"). We were greeted right when we walked in. Our server. Olivia, was attentive. However, there were no menus for what beers were on draft or cocktails (other then the specials we were told about). We could see the draft beer selection from upstairs looking at the bar. The pizza menu is pretty similar to what is at the other location. There are also appetizers, but we didn't order any. The food came out fast and it was nice to eat is fresh from the oven vs. eating it as carry out. With that said, the carry out location is more convenient for us and will be our choice. I did ask about the rewards program being able to be used and it is "in the works", which is kind of a disappointment that it wasn't ready to go for dine in. They did a great job on the refurb of the building. Be prepared to walk out of there spending $$ compared to other pizza places. Also, the tips on the checkout start @ 20% and go up (there is a custom tip option). I will say this - the pizza is some of the best in the Blono area and is a treat for our family due to the cost. It is nice to have more options in Uptown Normal and will be good for visiting parents of ISU/Wesleyan students. read more

I can't express how much I love this pizza joint! My daughter is an ISU Student and she graduated and we went there celebrate our server was top-notch! She made sure we had everything and she checked on us! I've eaten here many times before and this is the only place I like to eat wings at. The double fried method is the bomb! My daughter tried them yesterday and she said I can see why you keep wanting to come back here for the wings, the pizza is always spot on and super delicious. I had a "poppy drop" drink from the bar and it made me very festive it was very very good. I will continue to patronize this business. If you haven't tried their wings you must try them.
