Had pizza at this long time locally owned business in Bloomington. It looks pretty worn out to be honest. Tobin's gets packed with locals and students getting beers, and pizzas too. A lot choose to eat inside. You can also get orders for pickup. Even for a kind of old place it still seems popular among locals. It's for sure not the nicest place in town. The walls are covered with photos of the patrons through the years. As popular as the pizza is the beers. It's $3 for Miller High Life. The selection is pretty limited to be sure. Has no liquors. Of course beers go good with a pizza. It's about $16 for a medium. We got the Veggie Pizza. Pretty standard looking. There's black olives, green olives, green peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Good tasting if not particularly great. It's located on Main Street not very far from the ISU campus and better options. They're open for dinner Mondays to Saturdays, and open longer for Sundays. read more

I ordered the large special. The pizza was good and the delivery was fast. The delivery guy was very nice as well. My problem is with the price. The website said it would be $17.18. Instead the bill was just a few cents under $34. Even with a delivery fee there is no way to justify double the listed price. To make it worse, that didn't include a tip for the driver. I just dropped $40 on a thin crust pizza. Unless money is no object for you, I do NOT recommend Tobin's. read more

Service: the slowest.........it depends on who u get....our server was extremely slow......as in another server came and got our drinks as we were sitting there waiting for our server for good 10 minutes at least....... there were only 4 tables as it was 4:30 on Tuesday.... And three tables were already have eaten or getting their food. It took 30 minutes to get to the point of getting our orders in. Even then the server had to come out twice more to clarify our orders again. By that time, a table who came in after us got their food. Food: Husband ordered a deep dish pizza and I ordered chicken Parmesan. Pizza came out..... he ate his pizza and no chicken parm to be found. Had to flag another server to find the food and our server. The server apologized and explained that she tried to time it right to have the chicken parm come out at the same time as the pizza but it was ultimately up to the kitchen on when the food comes out. No sh*t!!! Owner/ manager person stared at our table a few times but no action or words. Never again will we come to this place. read more

Try to get the Buck stretcher or whatever they call it for the best value and bring home a small pizza to eat later. (thank me later). I placed a to-go order for chicken parmesan and a meatball on Friday evening. The pleasant woman who took my order had trouble finding the chicken on the to-go the menu to enter it into their system. It was noisy in the room where she was taking the order, making it was hard for her or me to hear. About twenty minutes later I stopped by to pick up my order. When I got back to my car, I opened the two bags to check it out. My plan was to nibble on this good-looking food on the way to Peoria. Surprise! No napkins or utensils. Okay, they must assume orders are going home to be eaten. I had some utensils in unopened plastic wrappers from other to-go adventures in the car, so I tried out the food. The chicken was tender and tasty. The sauce was first-class although I would have liked a little more. The spaghetti was done just right. The cold meatball was good. It was great when I got it home and warmed up it and the sauce it was packed in. Lesson learned: This good meal should have been eaten in the restaurant. This place seems to be one of the busiest in town, especially for delivery. The pizza is fine, thin crust doesn't have much flavor but you taste more of the toppings on a thin crust so it ends up being pretty good. The Family Buck Stretcher is a bit strange that if you order a 16" pizza you can order a 10" pizza (apparently par baked?) for a dollar and the group I was with recently really seems to like this concept. Fine with me. Delivered pizza is wrapped in a paper bag rather than a box which really shows off the greasiness of the pizza so not the most appetizing thing upon delivery. Ultimately, there is plenty of cheese and toppings, sauce is average, and crust is bland but okay. For my taste this local place is good or better than most of the pizza options in Normal which also include a lot of chains, it's a pretty good choice if you're in the area. read more

The sauce is phenomenal, crust is always don't just right. Probably the best sausage on any pizza I have ever had. Staff is great and always super friendly. Pizza was decent, ordered 2 pizzas (one small and one medium) and got them within 20 minutes. I'm rating Tobin's a 2 out of 5 because there was a staple in the small gluten free pizza. They don't put the pizzas in a box for to go orders, they wrap them up in white paper bags (akin to a vinyl sleeves) which are stapled down. Because of this, we found out the hard way that they had accidentally stapled the pizza. My girlfriend could've choked and died. A child could be in the same danger. Order without staples, I hope they didn't charge me for them. read more

I have hot been there since the first year of Covid when I was told by some guy that I was having to wait outside in a small shed to wait with a bunch of people before I could go in and pick up my to go order the guy who was in my face telling me all this had no mask on and when I offered him a new mask out of my pocket his reply was I don't need a f$&king mask! And when I finally got to go in a pick up my order they told me inside that it was the owner outside yelling at me with no mask on? So that lets you know who owns it and what he thinks of you! read more

People debate it pineapple belongs on pizza, but the Hawaiian pizza from tobin's is the only one i enjoy. The pineapple is crushed and the the thin shaved ham makes the pizza a good. Then dip in the tobin's bbq sauce and you will not be disappointed! read more

I really wanted pizza tonight so I called Tobins. The pizza was only a few minutes late so I gave the driver a nice tip. However the pizza was cold. So cold the cheese was congealed. The thin crust was super thick. We asked for 3 toppings but hardly any green peppers were on the pizza. I think someone didn't do their job right because the chicken was rubbery and the fried chicken coating on the strips was too thick. The chicken was also bland and needed seasoning. What changed? We have been there in the past and never had this problem. Do they have new owners? Something changed and not for the better. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

The first thing I noticed was they had at least 6 delivery cars in the parking lot. This must be a good sign! Server will seat you in a booth or table. It smells great! Waitress promptly came by for our drink order and since we were ready for the pizza order, we ordered both together. She said she'd bring the drinks right out.... but forgot. Never checked on us to realize she forgot either. Our deep dish pizza and drinks were served together. Over 30 minutes later. Pizza was good- very cheesy but the other 3 toppings were skimpy. The plates were small, appetizer-size and the deep dish slice barely fit. They also don't provide a serving utensil - you have to use your fork. So that was messy and difficult. Soda products are RC. Never again. This is supposedly a popular spot in town, but after this meal it is not for me. I ordered the chicken and shrimp dinner. I ordered white meat only. It was a significant upcharge, but I like white meat. When I got home with my pick-up order, there was no white meat. A leg and a breast. And honestly, I think I could have gotten much better at Popeyes. I know it would have been much better at Schnuck's. At twice the price, I got much worse chicken. The shrimp came with some cocktail sauce that, I kid you not, was a solid lump. Really? Sauce is supposed to be mostly liquid. This stuff was almost as hard as a golf ball. Yuck. The fries were cold and soggy. The garlic bread had butter and garlic, but I was under the impression it would be toasted. This was buttered bread with garlic salt. Not appetizing to me at all. On a positive note, the "food" was ready when they said it would be and the cole slaw was acceptable - not good, not bad, but acceptable. read more

The pizza is amazing as always. I highly recommend the Ozark Bbq! The only issue with this local place is the rudeness of the Owner to his staff, specifically his bus persons. He is always very nice to the customers, but my wife and I have overheard him on more than one occasion talking down and rude to his bus people! There is also a strange rudeness with the way they serve or I should say don't serve certain foods. I have asked for shredded cheese to be added to the salad for our son, knowing they have the cheeses for the pizza! The server told us they don't/won't do that! Tonight my wife and I ordered chicken tenders and asked them to toss them in the same Buffalo sauce that they toss th wings. The newer server came back and said, another server told him they don't do that. Our server was shocked and asked the cooks. He came out with a side of hot sauce and said the cooks would not toss the tenders and were rude about it! How does it make any sense that you have a bowl you toss wings in and refuse to toss frozen then fried tenders! It's honestly just rude and stupid. read more

We have ordered pizza for decades from Tobins. We order several pizzas the pother night. They were bland. I ordered two small pizzas that were supposed to be just pepperoni. But instead we did not want the thin crust. My grandsons were not able to eat them. They were had whole tomatoes on them. We have always loved the pizzas but they had little taste. read more

Great pizza. We do the buck stretcher with thin crust. It's a great deal. I've only had the thin crust- it's not so thin it breaks but has a little of a saltine cracker taste at the end crust. Good if you like thin but not TOO thin. Sauce is good, not too sweet which I like. read more

Not the same anymore. We loved going to Michaleos pizza back in the day. When we found out Tobins bought the recipe and served it, we were excited. The first few visits were pretty good. The most recent was not. I believe they are starting to skimp on the ingredients. The sausage is cheap, the dough is different and it was simply very poor quality. On top of this, the waiter didn't give any refills and we had to actually get the attention of another waiter to assist. Maybe just a bad night. However, the decline in product quality is purposeful. Been here 3 times, two small groups of not even five people and one large gang of 30 strong - great time all round, everyone was very happy with the flavors and friendly service. I was very excited to check this place out after a movie date and was happy that they were open late (hubby had a pizza craving). We walked in and were greeted and seated right away. Service all night was good - they were attentive and friendly. Now the food, one thing you should know if you're going after 9pm (and something that kind of turned me off) was that only things available after 9pm are pizza and salads. You cannot get anything else from the kitchen. I had my eyes set on some wings and possibly something other than pizza but they were not an option. The pizza (Tobin's crust) is thin and crispy, but its not amazing pizza. We do a lot of movie nights and I'd love to check out this place more but if all i can get after 9pm is pizza i dont think we'll be going back unless we both want pizza. And their salad is clearly store bought salad that i have at home too. read more

When you call, you're asked if you're ordering from Tobin's or another restaurant (Michellos?), then put on hold to listen to some truly awful song parodies. When the staffer came back on a few minutes later, the background noise made it hard to communicate. I WAS PUT ON HOLD FOUR MORE TIMES. Every time another line would ring, I was put on hold. Hold to get directions. Hold to get total. Hold to get ready to take a credit card. It is maddening to stumble through a fairly simple process, and will keep me from calling again. read more

A great small pizza joints in the middle of Main Street between the Bloomington-Normal border the pizza here was great and this has a old school look with a fleet of delivery trucks as this place makes a lot of pizza I'm guessing from the number of cars they have in their back parking lot. Tobin's Pizza might even be an institution in Bloomington-Normal and this pizza place looks like it been around for some time as a building is old. read more

Enjoyed some yummy pizza Thursday's night. We started off with 2 side salads with French dressing. Their French dressing is homemade and delicious. I actually used it later on with my pizza as well. For the pizza, we stuck with a classic pepperoni pizza which was very good. Though it was thin crust, it was thick enough for my liking. Some thin crust pizzas are paper thin and crack easily. Though this was thin, it had enough crust to it for my preference. The best part about this meal was that it was free. You heard me correct, completely free!! We received a flyer in the mail inviting us in for a free meal and sure enough out came the salads and the pie on their dollar. How nice is that?!? It's so rare that businesses offer a treat like this. Usually it's a $1 off or 1/2% off but this was true value! We will be back to Tobins for sure! read more
