One of my favorites use to be the Royal feast with shaved ham extra cheese and bbq sauce....now after many years of using open Pit restaurant style bbq sauce they now use something different, also the cheese is different the pepperoni is different it use to be ground pepperoni mixed with very small cubes it just sucks when you pay a premium price for a premium product and find out they skimped on the ingredients. I'm as "Muncie" as you can get, which means Pizza King is my favorite pizza in the whole world. I try pizzerias everywhere I go and I've never found anywhere I like as much as Pizza King. The McGalliard location has good service and the food is awesome. You'll probably feel like you stepped into a 1970s pizzeria with plants by the windows and "now that's what I call music" albums from the 1990s. They have Metallica's "Black Album" and "Appetite for Destruction" on the juke too, so it's not all bad. Aside from being conveniently located along with all the other restaurants on McGalliard, this Pizza King has a couple other nice features that you may appreciate. There is a Salad Bar, it isn't fancy, but it is a Salad Bar. Secondly, they have both Pepsi and Coke. Which means this is the only location in town that Mt. Dew enthusiasts can enjoy their favorite soft drink with their meal. They also have cheap beer/wine if you are interested in that kind of thing. If you get breadsticks, order them half baked. The pizza is the reason everyone is fanatical about this place. I love the pepperoni and sausage, if you are unfamiliar you need to try the royal feast too. Basically this place is a Muncie staple. Get breadsticks, plenty of pizza, and some drinks and you'll have a good time. Oh yeah, you get to place your order on a telephone from your table too. Neat, right? read more

It's a Muncie classic with phones to call in your order at the tables/booths. Try the barbecue baked ham, extra cheese...supremo for sure. Half baked breadsticks, just ask and they will do it. When near the BSU campus and craving a road pie - I roll over to McGalliard or Bethel - both are predictable Pizza Kings. Just get a large Royal Feast, garlic cheese bread and leave perfectly satisfied, and you may even have leftovers - unless you just can't get enough. It's a standard, perfectly predictable. Very difficult to call their iteration a "Salad Bar" though. Service/Server can be spotty - and busy weekends near campus can be a little overwhelming. read more

Pizza King is a Muncie tradition and my cousins and I all grew up eating it. My favorite is the Royal Feast (several toppings) and the "half baked" breadsticks and we usually order a pitcher of soda. They still use the ordering system from years gone by--you pick up the red phone at your table, give the waitress your table number and place your order. It's simple, quick and delicious. read more

Ordered 3 large pizzas for parents weekend to feed the boys. Had heard this is some of the best pizza in Muncie. 3 large pizzas 16" with toppings came out to $80. After getting back to the house we opened them up and visualized prolly the most non appetizing food ever. The taste pretty much matched the appearance. No flavor. Can't really explain the dough but it was more like eating soft bread. Why they cut the pizza in 100 tiny pieces instead of a traditional slice is beyond me. WILL NEVER eat it again read more

Ok, we are Pizza King groupies from Bluffton, IN. We have been to as many as possible PK around us. We got lost and ended up in Muncie and decided to go to the McGalliard PK on Friday around 7:30pm. We got right in. Charming garden setting, friendly service, phone at the table. The small salad bar was complete. Having my favorites along with the regular lettuce leaves, not shreds, and fresh, crisp veggies. BUT the star of the night was the CRUST! Delicious, light as air, yeasty soft on the inside, crispy worth-the-drive on the outside. This is the regular crust half ham & bbq, half royal feast. Delicious!! Could have eaten the crust alone but the toppings are amazing too. Baked to perfection. A lovely detour. We will be back! read more

Look the pizza is usually the best and if you are from here you love it and if not you don't. However, the prices have just gotten out of control. They have become way overpriced and look at the little cup of cheese for the breadsticks. It's $1.29 now. It just went up 30 cents. a full 1/3 just when people are having a hard time and if you are eating in, look, everybody orders two because one isn't near enough. Instead of helping, they are taking advantage so they don't get affected by COVID like many of us. My wife and I stopped in and got the smallest pizza they have, a sandwich, smallest order of breadsticks, one soft drink and one water and it was $30. That is excessive. As much as I like the pizza, I'm just tired of getting ripped off. Oh yeah, service was not very good either and are they even wiping down the phones or are you contracting COVID from them? The stores have always been dirty because the owners are too tight to spend money to clean, remodel or update them. It makes me wonder if they are too tight to clean as well. i had the pepperoni pizza. as stated in other reviews it is a diced/crumbled pepperoni which is okay. however, the crust was thin and obviously frozen. the sauce was plain and the cheese was flavorless. overall it was as good as those 99cent frozen pizzas from the supermarket. i will not return here. read more

All my life, this has been the "go-to" pizza of choice for me and my family. Sure, we jump around a bit, but always come right back when you want that food that takes you back and always satisfies.
