If you've never been a Greek pizzeria you must go. Here in Muncie it's a staple regardless of how…read moremany pizza king locations there are. This pizza is more American than Italian, but it's so good. The breadsticks are to die for as they bathe in garlic butter. The calzones are great and the salads are great, but you've got to get the pizza. Lots of flavor, crispy crust, and excellent toppings. They used to run a pizza by the slice cart after bar hours, which was a perfect addition after a late night of fun on Ball State campus. Let's hope they still do that.

We got…read morerolls to start, and the herb butter provided was straight from the refrigerator and hard to spread. We got bruschetta and mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The bruschetta was delicious, and it is worth coming here for that alone. The mozzarella sticks were very average and nothing spectacular. The Penne All'Arrabbitta was good, but they were definitely very heavy handed on the red pepper flakes. Over time, it lacked any flavor besides spice. The Tortellini al Forno had lots of flavor and was very cheesy. We did ask for it with grilled chicken and didn't get any. The waitress explained that there's a language barrier with the kitchen and mistakes like that are common. She was very understanding of the situation, as were we. After leaving, my partner did start to feel sick on the drive home. I would love to come back to try their pizzas since we went the pasta route this time.

Give it a try, you won't regret it. The sandwich is messy, could do with some mayo on it, in my opinion. But it's good! When a Muncie local tells me to get the toasted ravioli at The Guardian Brewing, I get the toasted…read moreravioli at The Guardian Brewing. Now, I could probably never eat another toasted ravioli for the rest of my life and I'd be perfectly fine, but I had to try them. Not bad! I've had toasted ravioli in St. Louis, which is the supposed birthplace of the food, and these would rival any in the Gateway City. I didn't just want to sit at the bar and stuff my face full of cheese and pasta. So I ordered a pizza, so that I could also stuff my face full of cheese and bread. The pizzas here are sized for an individual to enjoy, but they could also be a nice little sharable snack between two people. I got the Bill the Butcher, which is a meat-forward pie with beer-infused pizza sauce, cheese, pepperoni, bacon, chicken, sausage, ham and steak. It's a lotta meat! But it was delicious. All of the pizzas have interesting names and even more interesting ingredients, and now I'm kind of wishing I had ordered the Crust Punk Deluxe. Maybe next time! I feel like I missed an opportunity by not getting any of the beer here. But I did buy a pub glass to take home with me. I just wasn't feeling like beer when I visited, but the next time I'm in Muncie, I will definitely stop by for some beer. The service here is very accommodating and friendly. I wanted for nothing, but also, the guy manning the bar was very chill and knew when to hang back.

When we walked in the…read morehostess was on the phone with a customer, which I didn't mind too much, but it lasted a good minute, and nobody else had come up to try and help us, which I found a bit discouraging. Eventually she got off and sat us down at one of the tables in the bar area. I noticed all the wait staff were crowded around next to it where the kitchen meets the bar, and just chatting. I found it odd considering there's only one hostess and then there's all of these waitstaff just mingling about. But, being short staff is typical these days so I suppose that's probably how it is there. That's probably why the bartender was the one who waited on us as well. She was quite nice, and definitely knew how to make a good drink. I could hardly taste the alcohol in both. The first one I got was a lemonade type if I remember correctly, It was quite refreshing. The second drink I ordered was a blackberry margarita, which was honestly not good. I'm not big on sour, and it was pucker your lips and just drink it quick type sour for me. The rim had salt, and although I'm not a big salt rim person, that was probably my favorite part besides the actual blackberry floating in it. If you like sour you'd probably love it, but personally it was not for me. As far as food goes, we ordered the hummus appetizer to start. It came out fairly quick, and damn it was good. The fried pita bread with flakes of salt on top were our favorites. I could eat a whole big bowl of that alone if I could. When we almost were done with that, our food came out. My friend had ordered their crispy chicken in the dill pickle hot style, and both him and I were surprised at the amount of fries that came with. It was like fries with a side of chicken sandwich. He gave me a bite of his sandwich, and we both agreed it wasn't spicy or dill-y enough. The fries were honestly my favorite part out of all the food. They were so crisp and kept their warmth pretty well. They were also dusted in cinnamon sugar, which just made them 1000% better. Sometimes at other places you get them and they can be soggy or not have anything on them. They make them the right way here! For my meal, I got the drunken dory, I was debating on that or the blackened salmon salad, but figured why not go with some fries. Seeing how much fries my friend got vs myself, I was a little disappointed, but in the end he ended up stuffed whereas I had just enough. I really liked the plating on this, putting the fish on top of the fries so as the outside stays crispy on the fish. It did work, and overall was very nice. Could've used a bit of salt, and came out very hot though. All the food retained its heat very well. Their tartar sauce was also quite good, and as you can expect the coleslaw was nothing to write home about. I would definitely come back here again, probably try more of their apps and beers, I definitely like it better than some of the breweries over where I live in Virginia, so if you haven't tried it I highly recommend you do!
