I was craving pizza the other day but was a little tired of my usual rotation. Pizza King in Compton was close enough to deliver to my boyfriend's house so we figured we'd give them a shot. I placed a phone order and the girl taking my order was a little confused or something because she made me repeat my order like 3 times. Perhaps a new hire? Anywho, I had asked for the specials and I opted for the 3 Large with 2 toppings for $52. When repeating my order back to her I specifically emphasized the requested toppings per pie; 1 pep & sausage, 1 jalapeño & mushroom, 1 pepperoni & jalapeño. Upon arrival, I was upset to see that my order was incorrect as I recieved 1 mushroom pizza and 1 jalapeño pizza. The pepperoni and sausage was the only one that came out accurately. Besides that hiccup regarding the service, the pizza was actually pretty good. The quality of cheese and sauce were on point and I enjoyed the crunchy crust. Edit: they don't sell pasta hnnngghhhh It may be in what looks to be a seedy area, but don't let that deter you from getting pizza here! Their crust is flavorful, crispy, and consistent. I love their pepperoni and pineapple as well as their margherita pizza. The pepperoni is crispy, pineapple's sweet, and the cheese is melty-- you can tell the ingredients are super fresh. Same goes for the margherita :) A note-- they said the Margherita sauce is their pasta sauce and now Im going to have to try their pasta cause its delish! But sadly, also, just note that they don't put basil on the margherita pizza, though it's supposed to be on it-- reason being that they havent received shipment for basil for a couple weeks now. I was a little disappointed today. Usually this is my go to spot to get pizza but today they let me down. I ordered an extra large pizza for a Galentine's with some of my girlfriends just to see that the pizza they gave me is so tiny. I asked the girl, so what does the large pizza look like? She showed me the heart shaped mold and told me they only have one size, so why am I being charged for an extra large pizza when you only have one size mold? Make it make sense. read more

To be honest it's been a while since we ordered a pizza from this place and to be honest if I had to grade the pizza it's a solid 6 out of a 10 the crust is very good and the toppings fresh but the sauce has no to very little flavor almost like they buy from a can unseasoned. We're always on the hunt for new local mom and pop establishments sadly this time it wasn't up to our standards if they can improve the pizza sauce I'm sure they would sell more pies. read more

From the service to the food all horrible. They messed up and gave me two out of three pizzas. I had to drive back When I spoke with the manager he proceeded to blame us saying we MIGHT have not ordered it. As a restaurant manager myself I never blame my customers for a mistake or oversight . He in no way attempted to resolve the situation or make his customers happy. I had to wait for another pizza to be made the remaining part of my order was cold burnt and the wing were dry over cooked and flavorless. The last 3 times we have order our pizzas have been either wrong ingredients or appeared to been dropped (toppings and crust separated). What a big disappointment. I generally don't get why people complain about this place with prices. The ingredients reflects that when it comes to fresh ingredients. You can't beat pepperoni pizza with cheese or extra cheese! You just can't. On top of all this you can request to crisp your pizza to your liking. Yes, the place does get packed up with calls and in person too, why ? Lol place is cheap as is and delicious!!! They scam here. I placed an order on the phone for their #3 combo that includes 2 large pizzas and a soda. When I got there they charged me and gave me the pizzas but not the soda. When I asked for the soda they said that it would be $2 more. They tried scamming me even though it's on their menu They said I only paid for 2 large pizzas and I didn't pay for combo #3 even though I explicitly asked for combo #3 over the phone. I didn't say, can I get two large pizzas which is what they were claiming. Overall a horrible experience. Horrible customer service. She definitely was the essence of the shop. I say was because she tragically lost her battle to cancer/covid October of 2022. She leaves behind a loving family who still runs the shop. She loved the shop so much and spent every moment she could there where she could do what she loved most, interact with people. She touched so many lives and has left behind an incredible legacy.
