Note that during this review I am NOT exaggerating the wait times, I checked my phone several times throughout our visit to keep track. Made a reservation for 7:00 and we were told our table was unavailable. When we asked what the solution would be, the hostess shortly responded with she was going to split our group up (6 + a child) among two tables that were separated by a wall. We waited around 20 minutes for a table large enough to seat all of us to open. We're seated, the 7 of us receive 4 packs of silverware (ok, no big deal right now as we don't have food yet) and we wait 20 minutes for a server to come to our table. She arrives, we give her our complete order, and she disappears. Twenty minutes later the appetizer for one of our members is delivered and the salad for another, and one person in my group is told the beer he ordered is no longer available and another is told the same thing about her wine. The beer ordered is changed, and the wine order is changed to water. 10 minutes later the alcoholic drinks are delivered, two beers now, and one of them is the wrong type of beer. When this is brought up the waitress informs my friend that she knew the tap had been changed but just brought the beer anyway. An hour an ten minutes pass before (most of) the rest of the food is delivered. We ask for additional silverware and straws for our drinks, but the silverware never arrives so we end up dividing what napkins we have among those with the messiest orders (wings, etc). The pizza ordered reminds me of the Sahara, completely dried out from what I'm assuming is sitting under a heating lamp for an hour. After another 15 minutes I get tired of waiting for my child's chicken fingers to be delivered and I walk around the restaurant until I find our waitress and mention it to her. She says "they should be up soon, she'll check on them" and I reply with "There is no chance they just haven't been cooked, you either didn't order them or forgot them on the expo line." She admits that she forgot to order them and tells me they'll be out shortly, and they were delivered to the table about ten minutes later. About 15 minutes after food delivery all drinks on the table are empty, and we wait another 15 minutes before I finally get tired of waiting and take my wife's glass to the coke machine and fill it up myself. My waitress sees me and takes my glass to refill with sweet tea, which takes about 5 minutes (apparently they were out of tea, no big deal). No manager approached us, no apologies were given, and the only discount was for my son's forgotten chicken fingers (around $5, gee thanks). Do not go here. Do not waste your time and money. There's another one in Augusta that is vastly superior. I will never return to this restaurant and advise others to listen to this review - I've spoken to friends who attend for the weekly trivia night (Wednesday nights) and they have told me this is the common result when going to this restaurant. read more

Good beer selection. Waitress advised that pizzas take about 10 minutes to prepare while sandwiches take 20. Didn't sound right but we took her advice. 40 minutes later or pizza came out. It took us too long to realize it was under cooked. Thanks for the runs Pizza Joint. read more

Would love to give them a zero. Pizza joint kicked some friends of ours out of the restaurant because they were talking positive about Donald Trump. The food really isn't that great but because of this manager nobody in my family will eat there. Better pizza is at Ferrandos or Mello Mushroom anyway. read more

We came in from out of town and decided to give them a try. Huge mistake! I can't even say the pizza was a plate of hot garbage because it was lukewarm garbage. The dough was undercooked and there was probably a half cup of flour on the bottom of the soft crust. The server was nice but disappeared for long stretches and delivered our appetizer to the wrong table. When they finally arrived the "famous" dough balls were cold and inedible. I love the town but will never eat here or any of the other locations. read more

Ate at the pizza joint tonight and was pleasantly surprised that we had an outstanding meal. Pizza with pepperoni and sausage, meatball trifecta, bruschetta and spinach salad. Everything was top notch and delicious. Have nothing bad to say besides they sat us near the back door with people smoking on the patio. Each time they opened the door, smoke came inside and it smelled so bad. Besides the smoke, I highly recommend the pizza joint for a great meal. read more

I've had good experiences here and I've had bad experiences here. My last two have not been very good. The time before last, the waitress took my order and went outside to get on the phone. I think she may have had a family issue, but I sat there for 50 minutes before I got my lunch, and this was during the work week. The last time I went here, my pizza came out cold. I sent it back, it came out cold again. I sent it back the second time, it came out cold the 3rd time. The prices are reasonable for lunch, but they need to tighten things up or I'll stop going! read more

This was a good place to eat. Would go there with a table full of friends every Tuesday for a special they offered. The stopped the special so we stopped our weekly visits. Went there a couple nights ago and was very disappointed in the food quality and quantity. Obviously something has changed. Food wasn't even served in the same way. With a Mellow Mushroom opening a block away you would think that they would step up their game. They did just the opposite. Go to Mellow Mushroom and wait for a new restaurant to open in the Pizza Joint location. read more

Very, very slow service. The food isn't even that good for the wait. There was a girl with long, thick hair that had her hair down and she was playing with it around the food. They should at least have their hair pulled back. Very unprofessional. Just looked like a lot of kids that didn't know how to provide good service. I can't wait till mellow mushroom comes to Aiken. They're still not super fast, but its faster than the PJ and way better food. read more

The food was good but we had horrible service. The waitress was more interested in flirting with the next table than in waiting on us. We never got drink refills. Have never had this kind of bad service here before. read more

Great weather to sit outside & enjoy a basket of fried mushrooms & a slice of pizza! The mushrooms were hot & crispy, and the pizza was fresh and cheesy with crunchy crust and gooey cheese! The waiter was quick and attentive, and we will be back! read more

Great food. Very very tasty and one large Pizza Fed me and 3 others plus a 2 year old. The server was friendly and attentive to our needs. Brought out our Pizza quickly and my son's noodles shortly after. The atmosphere is very nice and inviting and laid back. When ever I am in town I will be back. read more

Did you know you can't get a beer in a beer mug unless you join a beer mug club?? Not good for the older generation who only drink an occasional beer. Bummer! read more

Great pizza and great product. I had the meat lovers calzone. The server was nice and kept the drinks full. The wait for the pizza is verrrry long and the only reason I am only giving 3 stars. read more

It may be called Pizza Joint, but their Wings are amazing. The garlic knots and fresh batteries mushrooms are delicious. We had the teriyaki wings, but the name hides the layers of flavored: chili pepper flakes, fennel and much more devious goodness. read more

We ordered a pizza for take out. The pizza was terrible. The crust was black and Black is no good. We called and relayed our displeasure. They say they have re-credited my card but never-the-less, not a good experience. I'll choose a different location next time. read more

The pizza is alright at best. It sure ain't winning any contests anytime soon. But that's not the real problem with this place. It's the ridiculous wait. You'll get your food before you get a refill on your beverage. On the real talk, this has happened, everytime I've been there. Their saving grace is their dirt cheap prices...which considering, not wonder. But don't hold this against the Augusta location. I've never tried it myself, but trusted foodies promise it's totally different. read more

The pizza is great. I almost always bring visitors from out of town here when they want pizza. The food is good and there's plenty of it.

I feel like this restaurant is under rated. We loved it! The don't short on ingredients. Could have done without the teenagers 2 booths down spitting spit balls down the isle and landing next to our table :-\ I would go here again for sure.. read more

When our mushroom/sausage pizza looked like it should be good..crust looked golden...hard to find the sausage but what the heck. In reality, it was soggy and tasteless. I never have had to salt pizza before in my life but I did here. Too much cheese and the sausage looked more like sausage dust than italian sausage. Won;t be doing this one again...I am sure the beer is good ;) read more

Sarah Cook is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. All I wanted was ALL FLAT wings, and she told me that it was impossible unless she charged me for 2 orders. Who does that?!?! I apologize in advance for anyone who comes here expecting to have it their way. I even offered to pay for all flats and she told me that I would have to pay for 2 orders...I was even cool with that, but she wanted to argue back and forth. Obviously, they don't cook per order. Steer away from the Pizza Joint in Aiken, SC read more

I have always liked this place but today it was awful.First of all it wasn't busy there was a sign that said wait to be seated,no employees where visible meanwhile I believe it was the manager setting in one of the booths never got up to come and greet us just left us standing there,it took over 5 minutes waiting at the door to be greeted and told we could just pick a seat. Are server tosha acted as though we were a inconvenience to her and seemed to have a RBF no very welcoming. read more

The Pizza Joint is one of my husbands favorite places to eat in Aiken. When we moved here several years ago, this was the first local place we ate & I actually told him I never wanted to return because the service was awful! We indeed tried it again several months later, and I am oh, so glad we did! The service is tons better than our first experience & the pizza is delicious! Tonight we tried their fried Mac & cheese balls and they were just as good! My children could have gobbled them all up within seconds! I am also always pleasantly surprised come check time! Our family of 6 can eat here for under $40! The 20" pizza at the Pizza Joint is massive!! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken tonight and it was decent, not superb but decent. Our server tonight was also super friendly & didn't roll her eyes or get annoyed that she was serving a family with small children. I always love seeing that! We can't wait to return to The Pizza Joint soon! read more

There is one place we always have to go when we are in Aiken, it's the Pizza Joint. Every Wednesday they have their trivia contest, and it's become a family tradition for us to go and compete. The pizza and Stromboli are fabulous! read more

Slices here are huge, its more like 2 slices put together. Very laid bad atmosphere here and the pizza is actually pretty good. Very friendly service read more

Aloof, too cool for you service from the veteran staff, super smiley but inept service from the newbies, but its all awesome and worth it for the chill atmosphere, great food, and prices. read more

Our weekly guys night hangout, great beer selection, great specials and great pie! My only wish is that they would add more sports channels so we can watch Thursday night NFL and more NHL games......hint hint. read more

I really do like the Pizza Joint a lot. The pizza is always very good, and the atmosphere is nice. It is more like a bar so expect noise. They have a great selection of pizza, calzones, and sandwiches that are all very good and not too expensive. It can get crowded on the weekend so just be sure to plan accordingly. read more

Not bad beer specials (I've paid as little as 95 cents) and quite a selection of beers on tap, as well as bottles. The pizza is not bad (I'm not a big fan of their crusts though) Free wifi. read more

Good food, nice service, like the layout. Makes me think of the classic "Nighthawks" painting of a diner in NYC (http://j.mp/4RNmKn). read more

The service is friendly, the location is fantastic if you are downtown. The garlic rolls are super! The pizza is average. What out for the crowds on weekend nights! read more

I frequent Pizza Joint, but my last visit wasn't the best. My boyfriend and I entered the restaurant, and was greeted by one of the waitresses. We choose a table and waited about 15 minutes for some to serve us before we decided to leave. No one asked what we wanted to drink, or gave us menus. They were busy, but one of the waitresses had served the table beside us that had come in after we did. How could you not have noticed us? She was the one that greeted us when we came in!! I'm hoping for a better service next time. read more

I had the most wonderful of experiences drinking at this bar while both Brandon and Andrea were bar tending. They were on top of everything making sure everyone was always tended too and all the drinks were top notch. I rate it highly and I literally never do this read more

This is our favorite place to eat in town. So many times we ask ourselves "Where do we want to eat?" We try to eat someplace else, really. But we often end up coming back, over and over. They have GREAT pizza, great service. Nice little patio of the weather is right. Fast. Did I say great pizza? I got on here to look for someplace else to eat tonight.... but nope, I think we just decided, we are going back! read more

I have been in Aiken 3 weeks and I can't resist this place. They have good beers on tap and good service. The pizza is good too. I mean how can you screw up pizza but it is good none the less. I hear this is a chain but I like it. It is definitely 2 $'s ($$) compared to the rest of down town which is mostly $$$-$$$$. Not a big fan of the fancy stuff when I want a beer and some grub! read more

Sat for 20 minutes before taking my order. Place was not busy. She was polite. Food was ok. I never complained, but she was apologetic on making me wait. I left good tip. It would have been a better experience if I was asked what I wanted to drink sooner. read more

Went on a Thursday evening..wasn't packed but our rude waitress left us sitting for 15 min before we ordered. Took far too long to get the food and even longer to get her attention so we can pay. I ended up asking 2 different people to get our check and finally one of them (not our waitress) brought our check. Our waitress was busy with talking to the bar patrons...nice. Over all, I'll never go there again! read more

Great place to hang out. The wait staff is amazing. I come here every Wednesday for Trivia Night and have a blast. Have had some issues in the past with the pizza not being quite up to par (burned on the bottom and cold another time ) but once our waitress was made aware she immediately took it back and got us another one and checked it before serving it to us. Just an FYI.. if you do come for trivia, be prepared they can get a little backed up with service because they get pretty busy, so come a little early to put your food order in before the game starts. read more

one word, GROSS! i've tried to like this place, but besides the beer selection, the pizza sucks. card board paste and govt cheese! read more
