Saw this place on TikTok and hyped it up to my husband for us to give it a try. I feel TERRIBLE overhyping it because it 100% let us down--we walked out within the first 10 minutes after sitting down to eat. Walked in and requested for 2 buffets and an order of wings which was an extra cost. They only had 3 flavors for the bone-in wings: BBQ, zesty buffalo, and an Asian zing type flavor. We ended up placing an order for boneless instead, paid, and immediately after the transaction went thru the gentleman that took our order called out to the crew to start on the boneless wings and was immediately notified they were out. If they didn't have the boneless then we would be satisfied with just the buffet so we asked for a refund for the wings in which the gentleman had an attitude about it and called over another employee to help get our refund. They also charge $1 extra for a to-go cup (dine-in drink was included in the buffet price). We started on the buffet line which salad was first--and there was only shredded lettuce and spinach. Strange for there to be shredded lettuce for a salad as it's much harder to poke at with a fork. They had a good variety of toppings tho! Next down was spaghetti noodles, marinara sauce or meat sauce, and shelled alfredo pasta. Next was garlic croissant type bread, chicken nuggets, and seasoned waffle fries. Then began the pizza and 2 types of pizza desserts. Spaghetti and marinara was the best thing out of the entire buffet (rate 7/10 pasta). The pizza was extremely thin, NOTHING to write home about... everything overall really was just below sub-par. Love the new look! I see we went up in the price, which I understand BUT if we go up on price and do a remodel you need to keep up with pizzas on the buffet. Service was terrible, the owner himself was extremely rude when I asked for a refund and never refunded my money so he's also a thief as I didnt eat or drink anything. This place at one time was great, now that is no more. I have been a couple times recently to the buffet. This store has 80 people waiting on pizza, the kitchen is swamped with phone orders, while the manager/owner is reeling. Patrons waiting on food, owner even arguing with hungry customers. A barren buffet, bizmal effort. Do not go here unlessyou like waiting to be fed like Oliver Twist, more please? This time I waited in line, because they make you pay in advance so they got your money and you have to wait on them to decide to feed you. Pathetic. We were greeted by staff way better than known chains. The atmosphere was great, felt like old school pizza getaway with the family. All pizza on the buffet line was fresh and my favorite was the pepperoni it took me back to my childhood days. Awesome salad options and will definitely return. Took my son here today for his Birthday lunch. The pizza was very good, the buffet was continually stocked with fresh pizzas of all sorts. The salad bar was kept stocked and fresh as well. Everything we wanted and more. Pizza Inn has great cracker crust and flavorful sauce. The buffet keeps a good variety and the staff will happily make what you'd like. The salad bar is terrific too. Buffet is available all day on Saturday and Sunday. Definitely worth the drive for us! read more

Must do an update from my previous review. This place has gone way down hill. Now you have to prepay. I suppose this is more a comment on the criminality in this area than the restaurant itself. But when you pay $40 for three buffets and drinks I think it would be a reasonable expectation to have pizza on the buffet. They kept bringing desserts out but not pizza. What little bit of pizza they did bring out was taco pizza. Only once in the thirty minutes we were there did they bring out a pepperoni which went as quickly as it was put down. Saturday during lunch rush you need to be pushing pizzas through the oven as fast as you can. Bring out the most popular ones and mix in some exotics. They used to make an awesome baked potato pizza. It's a little bit of an older location, but the buffet has been great every time I've come here. My son no longer wants to go to Cici's, because the pizza is so much better here. They have super fresh food, with multiple pizza options on frequent rotation. Their dessert options are so good too- especially the chocolate chip pizza and cinnamon stromboli. The service has been prompt and friendly. It's very much a casual family environment. I highly recommend their buffet. read more

I'm not going to lie, the pizza is the tastiest in town IF you can get it delivered correctly. I have been gravely disappointed by 1) absolutely dropping my order and not fulfilling it during my last transaction then after over 45 days when attempting again 2) I received the wrong pizza after 1 hour of wait time and it's lukewarm. As soon as I paid I requested a vegetarian pizza with one of the employees at the buffet.. 25 mins pass and nothing so I went to the register and they said it was put out but I went and checked for the 5th time and nothing was there. I'm really glad that I eat my pizza with a fork. I have always been teased because I eat pizza with a fork. Well today it paid off because there was a cricket nestled in my pizza toppings. I brought it to the attention of the waitress and she was apologetic. She took it to the manager on duty whose name was Barby. The waitress came back and said the manager was sorry, but there was nothing she could dot. So I proceeded to the front counter to speak with the manager. She told me she couldn't see how that could happen. I asked her was she calling me a liar. She said I'm not saying that I just don't see how this could happen. I know people try to pull fast ones on restaurants all the time. However, myself and my family frequent this particular establishment at least 3-4 times a month as dine-in customers and a couple of times for pickup orders. I am disgusted first of all that there was a cricket mixed in with my pizza toppings and it almost made it to my mouth. Secondly, I am upset at the fact that you would not refund my money or give me some type of future credit. The waitress was extremely apologetic and said that she agreed that something should be done. As a good faith measure I gave the waitress a tip to let her know that I wasn't trying to get a free meal and to thank her for the good service she had rendered, which was very early in my dining experience because this was only my second piece of pizza. The manager told me she could not do anything and that I would have to call the store manager tomorrow morning. I would strongly encourage you to avoid this establishment. I called to cancel and after keeping me on hold for 15 mins they proceeded to tell me they couldn't cancel it and give my money back. The pizza here is absolutely the best in the Dallas area. I was revisiting this place a while back and was so happy that they still matched the flavors I remembered. The cheese was sizzling hot and the sauce was just sour and tart enough to balance the savory cheese. I will admit that the salads and other sides are a bit underwhelming, hut hey, they're known for their pizza and they do not disappoint in that department. I don't know many other places that gives you the customization that Pizza Inn offers. They people there are very accommodating. Halotus and I pine for the old school pizza joints... dark wood, red checkered table clothes, red plastic drink cups, red glass votives on the tables and... the juke box! Those days are gone... but we can still find the taste at the Pizza Inn/Live Oak and here at Pizza Inn/Mesquite. The decor isn't what it once was but the pizza is what brings us back. The Mesquite location is very clean, has Covid protocols DOWN so that guests can enjoy the pizza buffet and salad bar. We were warmly greeted and thanked for making the drive from Allen. Came for an old school buffet on Father's Day. The restaurant was crowded but there were still tables in the back section. We were refused service because "they didn't have dishes" but there were a stack of clean dishes on the buffet" she said it was the managers decision to not serve more people. Sounded like laziness not wanting to deal with a crowded dining room and having to keep up with demand. Buffet full of food. I placed an order Thursday Jan 5th at 3:30PM. After 4 I got an updated notice that my order would be delivered at:47 instead of 4:30 as requested. At 4:52 I get a notice the driver is nearing my house. At 5Pm I called the store as my pizza had not arrived. I was informed that the servie confirmed the wrong order but that now my order would not be delivered for another hour. I told the mgr on duty to then cancel the order and refund me. He tried to claim the order was processed through door dash, but my receipt and emails all came from Pizza Inn, not DD. He told me then he would call me back and confirm my refund. Todate, my refund of $46 has not posted. You do not want to order from this very crooked business. Let them go out of biz. This re always Pizza Hutt, Dominos and Papa John. The owner is a pure asshole that need to go back wherever he from! I ordered takeout for my kids after a long day. They stayed up just to eat only to call after an hour of not getting my pizza delivered. At the time of purchase the guy said it would be 45-55 mins so I didn't think anything of it. When I called the owner answered and not only was he rude he advised that they had it as a carry out not a delivery and said they were closed. This is after I have paid and everything. We ended up having to go to McDonald's. I use to come here all the time and even enjoyed the buffet but I will NOT be back and I highly encourage you all to get pizza anywhere but here! If you want their pizza, especially an hour before closing time, you might have better luck going in person and ordering on-site. Because you're not getting through to anyone over the phone. Proabably because they've already left for the day (which means scratch the idea of going in person.) Their buffet opens at 8:00pm so they probably lose all interest in helping anyone afterwards. Their hold recording also offers a wide array of semi-useful information that you will hear over and over again including the option to visit their website and order on-line. It is an option you can try. But you will not succeed. A message will appear stating they are currently not taking orders. Which would make sense if they closed at 8:00pm. But they state they close at 9:00pm. They seem to have embraced a zero-f**ks-to-give work ethic. And judging by the reviews left by other people here, they are sticking to this philosophy. I imagine they enjoy it. You can see the Dunning-Kruger effect in full force with the manager's attitude. Leave hope at the door. You're dumb. They're not, and they have better things to do like watch Tiger King and eat Cheetos. This place used to be so much better. You can try another Pizza Inn. Something seemed off at this last visit. I can't pin it on ingredients or just the way the pizzas were cooked. This restaurant is in a gas station. It was pretty good, however so many pizzas were cold as they are just sitting out there waiting on the buffet people to grab them up. We came here at 12 noon during the week. The salad was a few days old. This pizza chain is a dying breed and I am glad to find one that is still open. I just hope that I was wrong with this review and it was just an off day. I just don't live near here but I think it's decent food they are serving. read more
