I don't have too much to say about the drinks as I just had water, but the food was tasty and exactly what we needed on a cold afternoon. To start out, we ordered the famous beer cheese, and crab cakes for the table. The famous beer cheese was similar to a fondue but it was prepared well and had me wishing I had more. Very tasty and perfect for sharing. The crab cakes were equally tasty and tasted fresh with a nice consistency. As a table, we ordered the mariemont salad, the Cuban, the famous burger and a bowl of chili. I don't have too much to say about the burger. It was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. The salad was unique and was shared by 2 people at our table. The Cuban was filled well and good value. Its always nice to see a restaurant not skimp out and deliver a nice product. In my opinion, the star of the show was the chili. This was a hardy, filling and extremely tasty chili! And of course, it was exactly what I needed on a cold, cloudy day. I ended up ordering a second bowl, it was that good! I would reccomend this place for a casual meetup with friends or family. Plenty of cozy seating inside, fast and friendly service and great food!

While watching the football game, it was only fitting to get a beverage. This time, I enjoyed a beautifully balanced Kentucky Mule! So good! Shout to you, Denise! The Queen of Concoctions! She works her magic behind the bar. Her energy and smile is infectious. Shout out to the kitchen staff too, the food is great! Fasser's is located on Madison Rd in historic Madisonville. The bar is located in Madisonville and it had some rougher and not so rough areas around it. Inside it had a beautiful bar and multiple high top tables made from barrels. The music was on the louder side, making it hard to talk at the tables, but possibly a good thing if you are in the mood. It took a while to get the bartender over to our table. Surprising because there were only 3 parties in there for lunch. She had told us that she would be right over, so I waited, but next time I would just go to the bar. They only had one paper menu asking for you to use their app which needed way too much personal info. The paper menu had only a third of the items on the digital menu, We chose the "Fasser" a pimento and green tomato sandwich on rye and we also went with the Monday special of a burger and fries. Tried to get the beyond burger to stay meatless, but they were out. I was shocked that the bartender/waitress was not familiar with the namesake sandwich....possibly should have been a sign for me. I ordered a soda it came, but only 2/3rds filled. We then waited some time for the food to be prepped. Maybe they were doing a ton of delivery business, but at 45 mins in I had to ask them to make it to go because we were running out of time. I also got a refill on my soda - again 2/3rds filled. When the food finally arrived it was delivered by a sweet elderly woman who apologized telling us it was the first time she made the Fasser. (Giving an extra star because she was so nice) I then paid for the food and realized the soda refills were not free. We quickly ate the sandwiches on our journey. The Fasser was pretty good, but really salty. The burger was nothing to write home about, but the fries were good. I will probably not be back, but I was happy to try the Fasser.

The ambiance is casual chic. I loved the lighting, both those hanging from the ceiling and the changing colors on the back wall. Our server was very attentive and sweet. We managed to order a lot of food and most of it was excellent. We were treated to a trio of Spanish peanuts, slightly spicy cucumber and pickled onions that were quite tasty. Taking a taste of each together was a great bite. It was a fun start to the meal. We stared with two appetizers: Stuffed Jalapeños and Chili Dumplings. The stuffed jalapeños were fantastic! I expected them to be spicy hot, but they were not. The stuffing was delicious and each bite was delectable. We highly recommend them. The chili dumplings were also very good, though we've had better. These were spicy, but not overly so. They were good and I'd order them again. Mark ordered one of the lunch specials that offered three rolls. They were good. He liked some better than others. I ordered Sashimi Deluxe, which came with a salad and miso soup. The soup was nice. I liked the dressing on the salad and used it more as a palate cleanser between bites of sashimi rather than relying on the ginger. The sashimi was also hit and miss. The pieces were large, with each easily being twice the size you might find at other establishments. None of them, however, melted in my mouth nor did they elicit yummy sounds. We had dessert. I had Tiramisu cake and Mark had Mango Mousse. His mousse was so good! The tiramisu cake was good, but not outstanding. Both desserts came with strawberries, that were fresh and sweet, and a little scoop of ice cream. I mentioned it was my birthday (because it was) and they gave us my tiramisu case at no charge. That was so sweet! When our server came with the check, she also gave us a token each for the claw machine. What fun! We didn't win a prize, but we won some fun on our way out. We both decided we'd come back without hesitation. We are looking forward to trying ramen next time.

Very good, chill vibe here!
