Hidden gem right here. Great music playing. Fantastic service by Evan. This place is great.

Nothing to write home about, but enough to write a review! This is a typical local pizza place. Nothing fancy. Paper plates and plastic utensils. Good space for eating inside, although I noticed a lot of carry out orders while I was there. When I first walked in, I wasn't sure whether to seat myself or wait to be seated. There was no indication anywhere and it took a short time for a waitress to pass by for me to ask. I noticed everyone that had call-in orders went straight to the bar to pick up. I'm not sure if this was because they were all repeat customers or they were told where to go when they ordered. I would suggest signage indicating to "seat yourself," as well as an indicator for carry out orders to be picked up at the bar (even if they're notified when they place their order). For the food...I started with a small cheese bread. It looked better than it tasted, but it was pretty good. I, personally, would've like to had tasted garlic or something else to "pep" it up. The marinara was too tomato-ey for me and just didn't have much of a good flavor for dipping. Garlic butter would've been a good alternative for me. The pizza was your standard pizza. Good amount of toppings, cooked well. Just nothing special or that set it apart from any of the other many pizza places in and around town. The dessert, which I was most looking forward to, was disappointing. The menu says "half-baked" cookie, so I was expecting a gooey, chewy cookie. The cookie in the skillet was baked all the way through. It wasn't bad, just wasn't what I was expecting. The vanilla ice cream had lots of ice crystals throughout it, so it wasn't a good accompaniment to the cookie. I would suggest a thicker cookie in the skillet, baked for a shorter time, and a creamier ice cream (or it could just be a storage issue causing the ice crystals).

I am always on the search for the best pizza around me. I have eaten here now a handful of times and I fall more in love with this place the more I go. The NY style pizza is awesome!! It's 20 inches, and bigger than any other pizza in the area, still amazed they have boxes large enough for these pizza pies. The regular pizzas are California style and also really enjoyable. I love the BBQ chicken style pizzas. The bone in and boneless wings are both good for starters except I can never decide what sauce I want so I get them naked and then usually get the BBQ, Hot, and Sweet Chili Sauce along with Ranch to dip my wings in. The fried ravioli, and the garlic rolls are some other good apps. They have a bar, and the staff are really friendly. They have live music on occasion so go give them a shot. They also do a large amount of carry out business so if you don't feel like dining in, then call in for carry out. Hope you enjoy this little pizza joint as much as I do!! Cheers & Enjoy!

Not only is the pizza FABULOUS, But the owner, Justin, and staff make this place over-the-top with their customer service. Our office loves to provide lunches to local schools to say "Thank You" for what they do in our community. The guys at Pizza Hoss generously help us by delivering fresh, hot, delicious pizzas on time and out of their normal delivery range just because they also appreciate what we do. When we serve the teachers their pizza, they ALL immediately ask where it's from an compliment how great it is! This place is THE BEST!!

Couldn't ask for better garlic knots and pizza! Service is always fantastic. Don't let the old exterior turn you away. It's clean and hospitable inside.

Pizza Hoss Emory - Chicken Bacon Ranch

I always thought it was Pizza Haus, my mistake. My Powell friends have been recommending this…read moreplace, so I picked up three pizzas to go. They all raved about the Chicken Bacon Ranch. I liked it but I didn't have much ranch and the slices I got hardly had chicken. I hear eating in the restaurant is better because they'll give you more ranch to dip it in. I really enjoyed The Big Hoss (pepperoni, ham, bacon, and sausage). The seasonings were all very tasty. The cheese pizza was 'meh' but that's to be expected with cheese pizza. Pizza Hoss isn't boss level, but it's solid.

We thought the pizza was mediocre at best. The crust had the texture of cardboard and the toppings…read moretasted very processed. We weren't a fan of the sauce on the pizza, and the cheese, which there was very little of, was not flavorful. I think (very locally) Gondolier and Elidios make a much better pizza. Even whole foods knoxville makes a much better pizza. I'm just surprised by the high score for this pizza place? Have none of these people been (knoxville) to Adopo or Tomato Head or Jabonis or even mellow mushroom? I would probably say the pizza here in my opinion is similar to your chain pizza delivery places. The pizza wasn't terrible just not special at all. I think pizza can be a very personal taste item. Just not impressed with Pizza Hoss Emory. I'm rating this establishment maybe higher than the review because the service and ambience was good.
