I'm extremely disappointed with my recent Pizza Guys order through Uber Eats. I paid almost fifty dollars for one fourteen-inch pizza with two toppings, and I ended up throwing it away because I didn't feel safe eating it. The driver left it on the ground outside my door, and the box was completely unsealed. There was one sticker but it was only holding a flyer onto the box. It didn't seal anything. I called the store because my concern was food safety. Farah, who said she boxed the order, told me she is the owner or family of the owner, and that she had personally put three seals on the box. But the photos I took at delivery show only that one sticker. And no evidence that any seals had been peeled off, especially on a black box where tampering would likely show. Instead of acknowledging that, Farah stuck to her claim and shifted blame to the driver, without addressing why an unsealed pizza box left on the ground might worry a customer. She doubled down even after I sent her the photos. And I also ordered three sauces, two marinara and one ranch, but I received three marinara and no ranch. Between the handling concerns, the missing item, and the response I got, I won't be returning. I'd seriously recommend thinking twice before spending your money here. I mean this as genuine feedback. I had placed an order on DoorDash for a Medium Pepperoni Pizza & Wings. Upon placing my order the estimated time for pickup was about 20 minutes and had dropped about 4 minutes as the deadline approached. By the time I went to pickup my pizza it was readily apparent that it had been done for quite some time. The box was hardly warm, as were the wings. Upon opening the box the cheese had already been dried out to the point where no cheese or red pepper would stick to it anymore. I am not sure if it is the responsibility of the business or DoorDash to provide proper estimates. But in this case I was left with a cold pizza and cold wings. I didn't know what that meant. I'm 77. So I stated the crust was burnt on top and too brown under the bottom. She couldn't make changes to a past order, and nothing could be done. How is it possible to ask about something I don't know? Random scary dude far away screaming but I rushed in for pick up and so good to know this place was still hopping when they were about to close within the next 30mins. People kept coming in for orders. That's a good solid sign. Our pizzas were almost done. So we waited. The workers were super nice. I saw the free ice cream for a Yelp checkin and ofc I want that! What a sweet deal. And a sweet dessert to end it. Plus if we spend over a certain amount which we did we can get a free 2 liter of soda wow this place is fun! So got that too! Took our stuff and happily made our way to the car to our hotel to enjoy our dinner and wow. Hot fresh pizza. It was good. Everything was good. Crust was good. Ample toppinhs. Fresh ingredients. My husband and I live off of Foothill Blvd and have many options for pizza within a 2 mile radius. We choose to drive a little further to pickup pizza from Pizza Guys because they are always consistent with quality and service. Their staff and pizzas are always top notch! However, when we picked up pizza for football Sunday, we were severely disappointed by the chicken wings. I've picked up from pizza guys many times and always noticed a chicken wing advertisement in the store that promoted "30% larger wings". I decided let the advertisement work on me and gave the wings a try. The wings were tiny!! I haven't seen chicken wings this small in some time. They also tasted like they were made from a low quality supermarket brand from the frozen aisle. They always have promotions and it's easier to order on the app and pick up. They also have a Yelp checkin offer for free ice cream when you check in. Halloween , so I expected it to be busy even though I called and ordered one medium pizza at 4:30 pm to pick up. They said about 30-40 minutes because it's busy. I was certainly good with that. Got there , paid and waited, waited and waited another 15 minutes or so. I asked the girl if she could check on my order. She said they are getting ready to make it soon and it will be another 30 minutes! So almost an hour in, it's not even made yet and another 30 minute wait. I asked her if they can now deliver it but they wouldn't waive the fee (not good customer service). So I told her to cancel my order, I needed to leave. They had me write my phone number on a piece of paper and said the refund will be back on my card in 3-4 days. I asked for a refund receipt and nope nothing to give me. Just trust the money will be refunded in 3-4 day's! Unacceptable. When I said what if it's not there in 3-4 days and I come back, where's proof I was to be refunded?? Just trust you will do it? The girl looked at me and had no answer. I told her I needed a form of receipt that I'm due a refund (they could have just given me cash back if nothing else ‍). Finally I got a printed void receipt so if my bank charges me I have that to show it was cancelled and shouldn't have been charged. The best thing they could have done to keep a customer was to waive the delivery fee since they failed to tell me the pizza wasn't even being made yet at the time of pick up! A couple of other orders were cancelled before I had to cancel mine. We realize businesses are busy, and totally are understanding of that. They had 7 people working that I could physically see. If nothing else be honest when we come to pick up that it's not even near ready and will be longer. Also they need some sort of refund confirmation when people cancel and not just "trust that the money will be refunded with no receipts". Updated after the request from the owner... We have been ordering from pizza guys for a while, at least on a monthly basis. Not sure what's wrong with their app, but you can never use any points you've earned... I've accumulated over 6000 total points but because the app doesn't allow you to use them, I've lost about half of the points from not using them... Today might be the day we find another pizza place to order from, which is a shame because we like the pizza here but their app is ridiculously bad. Ordered two large specialty pizzas (half and half) as usual for delivery, then the confirmation shows, one of the half and half pizzas as three different toppings. So I called to correct it while expressing my frustration that you can never use the points you've earned. The person was understanding and apologetic, he told me there are issues with the app and he will escalate the problem to IT so they can return the points I've lost. Great.... An hour passes, I check the order status and the order switched from delivery to pick up.... I call again and they apologized, said they would have them delivered, I asked them how long my pizzas have been sitting there as I shouldn't get old pizza delivered to me. They said they don't know why the order switched from delivery to pick up but they would make new pizzas and deliver them... now we have to wait to have them remade.... Sigh... Pizza guys, fix your app but until then this may be the last time we order here. :( Updated.... Update: so I appreciate the "free 2 liter mt dew" as a nice gesture although we don't drink mt dew. Would have rather had a coupon or something for the next time, the delivery driver was polite and apologetic. The pizza is usually good here to those reading this review but this night didn't go so well for us. All businesses have an off day or issues that are hard to control, no one is perfect. Sadly, we will not be ordering through the app until it's fixed. Just not worth the headache. I've patronized Pizza Guys for at least 12 years in northern and southern California. I will continue to eat at this chain but not at this location. I ordered a cheese pizza twice. You skimped on the sauce and the cheese both times even though I asked for extra. Instead, I might as well have eaten the box the pies came in. Small businesses have fallen on hard times, and there are more challenging times ahead, but don't start cutting corners to rip off your customers and insult them by thinking we won't notice. You left out an ingredient in my spinach salad on my second order too. You need to do better. @Management. We placed our order online for pickup just after 11 am. We scheduled it to be picked up at 12:10. When we showed up on time, we were told it would be another 6 minutes. They were literally just putting the last pizza in the oven. The entire point of scheduling it, is so you DON'T have to wait. That's the entire point. My son also came with me so he could pick out some ice cream since we had made a large order. We were then told that they no longer give a pint of ice cream with a large order, but if I did a Yelp review they would. I wasn't going to download the app and be bribed into a review in front of employees. So we pay more, get less, and it's late. We're done. Just had a medium pizza delivered. The delivery guy left our pizza on our porch on the ground and didn't even ring the bell. Luckily I saw his shadow and opened the door. I ordered a thick crust was charged $1.49 extra for the thick crust. I ordered extra cheese for another $1.49 extra. I ordered a half and half. Half cheese and half pepperoni. Didn't get the thick crust, didn't get extra cheese! Crust was chewy! The worst pizza ever and all this was a whopping $26.96 plus tax and tip for a total of $38.30. Instead of going back to the store and correcting it, we were stuck with an order we didn't want and a promise of a refund. Never got a refund. So, she placed a $20 credit on my account for next time. Next time was tonight. After ordering one of their incredibly expensive Pizzas, the customer service girl (Dainakeo) informed me they could not deliver it because the 20 dollar credit brought the total under $50 for delivery. Extremely frustrated at this point, I told her I would pick it up. She told me that the Pizza was $9.69 and I gave her my card number. Arriving at the store, I was greeted by the rudest customer service ever by Dainakeo. Looking at my receipt, I had been charged $23.69 (full price) AND I even picked it UP!!!!! Upon asking here why I wasn't charged the $9.69 she told me on the phone she said because she added taxes and delivery charge....what??????? I was there picking up the Pizza!!!!!!! Then, checking my statement at home....I was now charged $29.61!!! These people, especially workers like Dainakeo could care less about this business and have ZERO clue about customer service. You should be cautioned that I think they are engaged in defrauding customers as well. Dainakeo would be fired immediately if it was my business. Spinach Garlic Chicken is SO GOOD I literally dream about it. After getting pizza from Pizza Guys I literally cannot enjoy pizza from any other establishment (Domino's, Papa John's, Pieology, etc.) not to say they're good in the first place, bc they're not. Pizza Guys is not only superior in taste but also in service! I've never had any of my orders made incorrectly - and I've gotten a few very specific half-and-half pizzas which could be easy to mess up - but they DONT! So awesome. I highly recommend the garlic rolls if you have the extra room for it, and make sure to check-in cuz you can get ice cream! I got a pint of Butterfingers flavored ice cream when I went and it was such a treat after pigging out on half a pizza , lol.
