Oh my. Where do I begin. My BF went to the restaurant this evening to place an order. I had texted him my order: Calzone with Red tomato sauce, Salami, Ham, Black olives, Extra mushrooms, Extra mozzarella cheese. I'm not sure how to describe what they concocted, but other than the "half pizza" shape,, this was not a calzone like anything I ever had before at this restaurant or elsewhere. The calzone was over cooked and the top was charred in some places. The red sauce was on the outside top of the calzone; there was NO sauce inside of the calzone. A sparse amount of mozzarella cheese was sprinkled on top of the red sauce on the outside of the calzone. There was NO cheese inside the calzone. The red sauce and cheese on the top of the calzone stuck to the inside of to-go box and had to be knifed off the cardboard. The salami, ham, black olives, and mushrooms inside the calzone, as well as the inside of the pizza dough were undercooked and cold. Strangely enough, I could not stop from eating this disaster. Once I got over the looks of it, there was that familiar calzone taste that I have in my memory for a comfort food. Illiterate or incompetent employees. Not sure which, maybe both. I love pizza. I love Pizza Guys. I also love salad. But I absolutely HATE onions!! ...with a passion. Time and time again... I know, I could be insane... I order a side salad with my pizza from this Pizza Guys. NO onions, of course! And time and time again... I receive my salad with &*$!#@ onions!!! How God... damn... hard is it to read and follow instructions? If an employee can't do that, the simplest of tasks, they really don't deserve to be employed in a field that thrives on customer satisfaction. I've spoken to several "shift leads", "supervisors", "managers", you name it... about this exact problem from this specific Pizza Guys location. They all say they understand and they act like they care, but my salad (with onions) tonight says otherwise. Went to this place to purchase a soda as I needed to break a big bill for a haircut. The soda was expired and tasted old, then when I went back in to exchange it I found all their other bottles were expired as well. Not only that but they were quite dust covered and gross and uncared for. The two workers there seemed non plussed about finding out they had months old expired soda in their fridge as well as made no attempt to correct the issue or offer my a refund or exchange of any kind. Not quite sure how others find this place but if they are so uncaring in a sealed soda that they sell and should be monitoring I wonder what kind of care or quality goes into the food they make. What kind of quality goes into their sanitation habits maybe. Do not give this company your business. This use to be my go to pizza place, but over the last year, the service has gotten terrible. I feel bad for the young adults working here because they are doing the best they can, but they are young and not experienced. This is an issue with the owner who does not deserve anyone's business. Apparently he/she has decided to leave the business to teens and twenty somethings to run. I go here roughly about 2 times a month. Over the last year, every time I have been there my order has been wrong. In fact, tonight, when they corrected the problem, they made the order wrong again. We ordered from Pizza Guys for the first time tonight. It was also the first time we used GrubHub. We had a fresh, lovely antipasto salad, a very large and delicious calzone, and the jalapeno and cheese flatbread. We even have leftovers for breakfast! Everything arrived on time and still nice and warm. The driver was very polite and he made it on time. The price was right, the food was good, and the options were great. This location has a very positive and welcoming feel to it. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by both employees who were at the front counter, and shortly after had my order taken. It's clear that health and safety is a priority here; floors were spotless, employees all wore masks/gloves. This meant a lot to me as I was hesitant to pick my food up from the store rather than get it delivered, given the current circumstances. These guys are awesome. Order an extra large and asked if they could make three slices cheese only and did it no questions asked. Pizza arrived hot and earlier than expected and was delicious.
