Pizza's great, fresh and made right in front of me! Price is very reasonable though pizza was kinda too cheesy and too oily, but it's okay, its filling. Customer service is a must, and the lady let me off for not paying the whole price, i owe them 7 cents, but i'll pay them back with stars. A little advice for the owners, just a little remodeling, just to update the whole shop and refilling ice cream would replenish my additional 1 star. otherwise, i give this a solid 4 star. read more

I dropped by the shop after hearing a recommendation from a nearby shop owner of where to get a bite to eat. To sum it up, Its an ok place to get a slice of pizza when you're hungry. That being said, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. Let's talk about the pros first. Prices. I glanced at the whole pie prices and they seemed to be reasonable. They offer by the slice, which is what I ordered, also at a reasonable $3 for a slice of Peperoni. Service was also good, I was greeted by the owner when I entered and the employee in the back shouted a recommendation when I was browsing their menu. There are a few things that have caused me to deduct from their overall score. Although the prices are reasonable, they also nickel and dime you on the takeout box. 50 cents for a small box, and 30 cents for each additional slice? (I dont know if they charge for a larger whole pizza, just for slices) I opted to get a thin paper plate instead. The seating was also quite poor. The only table inside was clearly dirty with crumbs and some splashes from a drink from the previous customer. I sat at the clean corner anyways and went for the mozzarella. As I grabbed the container, it was basically empty aside from a single large chunk. After mulling there for a bit, I took my slice out and took a look at the seating outside. Also dirty, there were leftover plates and napkins from the previous party. So I ended up sitting in my car to finish eating. Overall, the pizza is good quality, but its nothing I would crave. Again, I would only drop by this place only if I was in the area, otherwise I'd probably go to another one of my favorite eateries. read more

Placed an order for delivery. we were told 45 minutes for the delivery...O.K. great. After about an hour the driver called and stated he was outside. Went outside to locate the driver and he was no where to be found. Called the business and told them the situation. The person who took our order originally wrote our street name as Park Commons. Told the guy who answered the phone the correct address. All in all it took 2 hours for our delivery. We had to direct the driver turn by turn to our place. Delivery jobs arent for everyone. We were not offered a discount or called by the business about the delay or to say they were sorry. iIgenerally like the pizza here and definitely know now not to ask for a delivery. The language barrier makes it hard and they do not confirm the addresses. Maybe a GPS lesson and some better communication skills and we will give hem another try. read more

Called in order for pizza. Was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Wait 20 min. Upon arrival, I ask for my order. The woman says "it will be four minutes". I then watch her make my pizza and put in oven. WTF? After a more than 4 minute wait, she pulls pizza when it is not quite done rolling through the oven. Get order. Pay $20. Get home. Pizza looks good. Too bad the dough was raw. What inedible glop. We choked down a couple of slices, will probably regret it. Tossed the rest of it in the garbage. The dough was wet under the surface. My family always orders pizza from here. We've tried other places in CV but this is our favorite. Their regular dough is good, not too chewy but we prefer their thin crust. Great amount of toppings, cheese, and sauce. Their regular prices are a bit steep but if you use their coupons (2 med, 5 toppings each for $20!) then its a great price. They also do pizza by the slice at good prices if you're with a group that can't decide on toppings :P The workers have always been nice to us and we've never had problems with paying but we always pay cash with small businesses and we always pick up. So I was searching for a new pizza place in CV because my girl is tired of low quality most chains serve up these days. We found this place on yelp and were compelled by the amount of raving reviews. I found the ordering experience to be very easy and the staff on the phone was very friendly and competent. We got a large half Hawaiian and half pepperoni and the price was extremely reasonable and the delivery guy benefited from a large tip since there was a good amount of change. The pizza itself was better than I expected from your typical inexpensive local pizza places. The crush was nice and thick, the sauce was delicious but I wasn't a huge fan of the pineapple. All in all I think I will be coming back here again, the think crust looks pretty darn good. They also deliver beer, which is pretty sweet. read more

Someone reported the owner is very supporting of the local community. Well, in a word, NOT.. The owner while delivering a pizza ran me off the road and then flipped me off then ran. Does that sound like someone committed to the quality of the local community. This guy is an A**H***, BJ by name. How do I know this? I've been ordering from Pizza Express on Center St. since 2008 and the pizza has been consistently excellent. It is because they use quality ingredients and do the same thing every time. I have eaten in and ordered out and have never had any of the problems that some of the bad-reviewers have shared. I really enjoy the N.Y. style of Arinell in Berkeley and the thick pies of places like Zachary's, but for the American style I've had a hard time finding better than Pizza Express. While pulling their menu up on Yelp we decided on what we wanted so I called in the order, only to find out that wasn't their menu I was. Ordering off of. I attended a friends birthday party at Sulphur Creek in Hayward (great place by the way) and my friend ordered 6 pizzas from here the night before to ensure he wouldn't have 20 screaming starving kids, the family hounding him "where's the pizza", you know the worse case scenario possible..... Well it still happened that way....they forgot the order and when he called a little before it was to be delivered, they didn't know about the order.
