Was there over this past weekend an wasn't impressed!! The food was mediocre, compared to other times I had it( which amazing) The salad bar was dirty, tables had garbage, dirty dishes and they weren't cleaned. The kids making the food were just eating an I never saw 1 of them wash their hands or after they picked the phone up. Than the kid who brought our food to the table had a mouth full of food an was chewing, never asked if we needed anything!!! Not impressed this time, at all!! read more

I stopped in for lunch because I was working nearby. I got two slices of pepperoni pizza, a single trip to their salad bar, and a drink for less than $10. The pizza was great. It had the right amount of pepperoni, cheese, and sauce. It was hot and fresh. They use a brick type oven which produces the best product. The salad bar was very clean, well stocked, and had a lot of nice choices. I was impressed. They serve Pepsi products with 10 different selections of drinks. Unfortunately, they do not offer fresh brewed iced tea. This is disappointing because fresh brewed iced tea is much better than the stuff that comes out of the fountain. I strongly urge them to offer the fresh brewed stuff. It probably costs less than $1 to brew a gallon of iced tea. The restaurant was very clean and the girl working the counter was friendly and respectful. Good food + good prices + good service = value and a return trip for me. read more

Pizza was flavorful and topping were not sparse. We got the family size half buffalo half combo for 4 of us. We only ate half of it. Definitely disappointed with the fact that it's not unlimited salad bar- it's assumed that it is. Cleanliness was good. Service was good. Bathroom was clean. read more

We always order ahead and pick it up. You usually "get what you pay for" with pizza in my opinion, but this place is a great value at a great price! Pizza is delicious. Crust is lovely, everything seems fresh. This is our favorite place to get pizza around. If we get pizza when we're away it always gets rated against this pizza. 10/10 read more

Great little family run pizza place. I ordered a 1/2 supreme express and cali express. The pizza was loaded with toppings. I also had a salad. The salad bar was very clean, fresh and well stocked. I also have to mention the bathroom was clean. You can tell a lot about a place if the bathroom is clean. I highly recommend this small family run chain of pizza restaurants. Recent improvements both to the interior and improvements to the service have brought them back in my good graces. Haven't seen a burned pizza in quite a while (maybe they fixed the oven).....and they make a "double crust" option now, that greatly improved the overall pizza. I get 30 minutes for lunch. So, when I came in to Pizza Express, I was happy to get a two-buck slice, ready to go. We've gotten pizza from Pizza Express in the K-Mart strip mall 5 times. Three of the times, the pizza was great, twice it was good enough. If you ask, you can get items off the salad bar put on the pizza, even if they aren't all listed on the menu. We always get our pizza extra cooked from them, we prefer it run twice through their timed-conveyor belt oven. They will sometimes deliver outside their range if they aren't busy, give em an extra tip. They serve beer at the restaurant and there are a couple of video games to play, get a beer and play a game while you wait for takeout. Large booths are nice, though overall the decor is a bit weak. The topping selection is thinner than it should be in northern California. Pizza is a solid B to B+, price is a little high, but it's the best choice in north Auburn. The name makes it sound much worse than it is, give it a try. read more

We went there for my birthday and we ordered and my dad jokingly asked if the staff sung like at Chevys. The staff laughed and said no. We got our delicious pizza (my favorite pizza of all time in my opinion!!) and then some of the staff comes out and asked which way I wanted "Happy Birthday" sung to me!!! It was so great/funny to have them sing to me and a lot of people joined in! Now, they don't do this often, but it was nice that they had time to sing for me! A pit stop in Auburn and found this place for lunch. It had GF crust for my wife, who is GF. When we got our pizzas and took our first bites. It was really good! My wife's GF pizza (mushroom and pepperoni) did not taste like your traditional gluten-free pizza crust. The GF crust was moist and tasty. My combo with pineapples was also good! We have ordered many times but the last few times the pizza came cold and burnt. The pizza would come late and not with the right toppings. I choked on a piece of chicken that was as dry as a piece of jerky. Now the kicker, we ordered 2 sandwiches, a side and a salad. I went to pick it up in the 15 min they said and waited an additional 10-15 minutes. Once the order was ready I had 4 things to carry out with a couple misc items. I asked for a bag and the guy honestly was trying to hand me a trash can liner!!!! What?!?!?! Gross!! He told me they don't have carry out bags. Then why have to go items? I could go on and on about a few people that work there the rudeness, the people that wipes sweat while making pizza, etc but I am getting grossed out just writing.. don't go there!! read more

Pizza Express makes a good pizza. Their staff is friendly, the good arrives piping hot and the ambience is nice with TV entertainment. The only reason I give 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is that I it seems that their cauliflower pizza also contains flour/gluten as evidenced by a considerable rise in blood sugar as compared with other cauliflower pizzas. This place has been here since the late 80s, or early 90s ... maybe older ... Nowadays they've changed their business model and they lose two points for so many canned ingredients and nowadays cheap cheese. Keep three points for decent sauce and sort of fair pricing. When you stand at the drink counter you can see all of the canned crap. read more

Called in pizza a month ago, 15 minutes later went to pick up my order, they never started making it...had to wait another 20 minutes...with groceries in the car on a hot day. This week again...called in my order. Got there 20 minutes later, and they said, "Oh, sorry, we gave away your pizza." HOW could that happen? Decent pizzas, but tired of their BS.
