My favorite thing about this place is that I can sit down and have a nice casual meal without resorting to the fast food joints in the area or the too fancy dining establishments. Little Italy has a neighborhood "joint" feel. The place is pretty small and seating at some of the tables are a bit tight but the staff has been very quick and the food has arrived promptly. There's nothing fancy about the place, but it's not a bad choice for a comfortable meal.

If you haven't had really damn good Italian food, Little Italy might seem alright. However, to pay…read more$23 for a plate of penne with a watery arrabbiatta and very thinly sliced cheap salami is not acceptable in my book. My friend had the tortellini which was clearly frozen and not handmade, with once again a watery cream sauce and pieces of avocado! It is true that this place has a cozy 'neighbourhood joint' feel to it but there is a very fine line between cozy and just tacky. The blinking fairy lights, too small booths and being able to hear everyone's conversation a small neighbourhood italian joint it does not make. Our waitress was very nice but a bit clueless about interrupting our conversation to ask if we needed anything and then not realize we needed water top ups. It seemed like everyone else in the restaurant was a tourist, which makes me think that this place is one of the few tourist traps in the CBD. My advice: for the price yelpers local and foreign can definitely find better.

Oh look, we've got a voucher for that pizza place in Onehunga - let's go. We pulled up right outside, there was no one inside but the handful of tables were set nicely and the banquette along the wall looked inviting. There's pastas and salads on the menu too and we thought we'd found a place with something to please everyone. We sat down at the table furthest from the front but there was a problem. The sun. True enough, we'd been out in it all day and had our full complement so may not be a problem for some people. For the five of us though, that big plate glass window with that big burning sun coming down in the West was just too much to bear so we had to leave. Such a shame and easily remedied by a blind. Really, in the early evening this place is on FIRE. We might go back in the Winter.

What a lovely place! Located on the corner of cavendish drive, opposite AUT south campus (AUT…read morerepresent!), Trattoria is one of Manukau city's hidden gems. We discovered it through the Auckland entertainment book for 2017. The cafe has 2 entrances is - one beside the deck and one along further by the other shops. We walked in to a lovely setup with tables, chairs and a very clean white floor. The area is well taken care of and also offers outside seating (and inside outside) for those who prefer the fresh air. Quiet music is played from the radio. Now onto the food... the coffee was EXQUISITE! I love a good mocha and mine was the perfect balance of chocolate and coffee. Mum had a latte, which she loved also. As for the meals, my eyes went straight to the blueberry pancakes (which come with cream, seasonal fruit, bacon and maple syrup). Mum had the trattoria grill (eggs, bacon, sourdough bread, spinach, mushrooms, potato balls, Italian sausage and roasted tomato). The girls that ran it were lovely too. Highly recommended!

Have noticed that it doesn't appear to be as patronised as it used to be so wonder why. Would definitely give it another go. Could really do with some more mediterranean flavours in South Auckland.

I walked past it for two years never really taking action towards my thoughts. It was always just something I'd say I would get around to doing. I finally got the chance to eat there tonight and it was just superb! Before I could even notice the food around me I was drawn in by the perfect temperature of the place, it was cozy like a little cottage. It was a well lit restaurant which made me feel in a comfortable space. I sat down and ordered a pizza right away! I ordered their special pizza (I think it was called The Special Italian Job" or something similar, it consisted of prawns, mushrooms, olives and covered with a nice and creamy cheesy topping) which I thought would be a new thing to try. Although the food did take a while to arrive to my table (there were many people there) , the great pizza totally made up for it! It had a crunchy base, with the toppings at a perfect temperature and ready to eat! Along with the side salad and rocket that I could layer on top of it. The waiter and waitress were very nice and did wonderful job at serving us. Tony* I think his name was, did a great job making the dishes and it made my evening a whole lot better! Thanks again, The Italian Job and i'll definitely be coming back again soon!
