I'll be honest - I went to this place some years ago - thinking it was same as the one in Hollister (which I've always found a killer place). My experience with the pizza wasn't good...so I had never been back UNTIL RECENTLY. The place IS IMPROVED. And I give it 5-stars - keeping in mind for the Branson lake area - it's going to be one of best around for pizza. If you're a meat lover...I suggest the Hercules pizza. It has salami on it....which imparts a flavor I find to be really good and not ordinary. One the table...you'll find their house blend seasoning. My group (5 people) and I stopped here to eat after a day on the lake. The location of the restaurant was great, but the atmosphere was disappointing. When we walked in we were greeted warmly by an older lady who appeared very friendly. She came to take our drink order and we ordered a drink for our fifth person who wasn't quite there. She went in the kitchen and started ranting to the kitchen staff very loudly about there being a party of five. She then brought out our drinks and told us they closed in thirty minutes. My friend stated, "Google said you guys close at 10, so you close at 8?" She repeated they closed in thirty minutes, so we said we should probably order. She said, "take your time" and walked off into the kitchen. She then proceeded to yell about how we were questioning what time they closed and how we were asking how long we could wait for our other friend, and continued to make up more conversation that never happened. She then walked out to our table and asked what we wanted to order. We asked for our check for the drinks, and she didn't make us pay (which we appreciated), but then kept telling us to come back and see her. I told her "that is unlikely," and she started telling my four year old to come back and see her. Got there about 5:45 pm on 6/2/26. Only 1 customer in restaurant. Took our drink order right away (4 of us). About 15 minutes later, a young man took our order. He didn't right it down. 2 other customers had come in since we did. One had some changes from the menu due to dietary needs. The other two (one a Greek pizza) were right from the menu. Our order took about 25 minutes (only 3 other customers at this point). 2 of the 3 pizza were not prepared to order. It cannot be that hard. 4 items were left off the Greek pizza and the other was not to have tomatoes due to dietary needs. Server took back the Greek pizza and added 2 of the missing 4 toppings. I have to think the 2 pizzas were not prepared correctly since the server did not write down our order. It appeared that 3 of the owner's or employees young children were wandering throughout the restaurant, getting into the Gelato which was not very appetizing had we wanted some. We have been to this restaurant every time we come to Branson (twice a year) but odds are we will not return. Server offered no apologies for pizzas being made incorrectly. Ordered online with delivery. Waited past the time it was to be delivered and called and we were told they don't deliver. Drove to the store where our pizza had been sitting for 30 minutes and the person behind the counter explained that the delivery order goes out to door dash and no one had picked ours up and maybe never would. We had a mostly cold pizza, paid and tipped a non-existent delivery person. Person stated they have no control over their website and apologized. Ordered Caesar salad with chicken and was served without chicken. Chicken came later. Soda fountain machine needed recalibration with Coke product...not enough Coke syrup (possibly). Dr Pepper was good. Dinner salad is small but tasty. Service was slow. Only one young lady handling everything. Waited 10 min for gelato even though young man stared at us waiting by the gelato station. He eventually was told we were waiting and he came around to help. I'd do 5 stars but I leave that for amazing or above and beyond. This place is great little pricey and very good. 5bucks for a draft Blue-Moon beer. Around 19bucks for 12 chicken wings. We have had Pizza and Wings so far. Both were very good. Their location in Kimberling City has a buffet. Make sure to Check times the schedule is different then what you might think. Do not come if you are in a hurry or like A/C. The whole restaurant is really hot. The pizza takes FOREVER to come out. I mean... a really long time. I think they prioritize take out and/or delivery. What a crazy good surprise! I was referred to this restaurant by a man from Oklahoma that I was chatting with at another restaurant about an hour away. He told me that this was a must and he even warned me about the outside not being the most attractive. He just kept saying not to get scared off and that my entire family would be extremely happy. Turns out, they prepare them themselves The pizza selection is insane,extremely creative, and well priced considering how many freshly cut toppings would be put on the pizza. In a short time afterwards, the restaurant started to smell amazing and two very friendly people came out with our food. 2 calzones and two pizzas were piping hot and ready to eat. My husband and daughter had calzones with a slightly sweet but fresh tasting pizza sauce. The calzones were coated with a garlic butter and herbs and smelled sinfully good. I was quite bummed that I hadn't ordered a calzone until I tried my pizza. I ordered the garden pizza that had pretty much every veggie on it. You can tell that everything was freshly chopped and skillfully placed on their hand tossed dough. It was simply a very fresh and balanced pizza. My son's Pizza was cheese only. He loved it. My husband tried it and said that he missed the flavor he had on his calzone when it came to the dough. I loved the dough and saw no problems. Oh well, to each is own. We have driven by Pizza by the Chef so many times when we come for vacation. We have always found a reason to go some place else. One of the tastier experiences at Branson. The key is to apparently get out of the "theater district." Which isn't far, but that seems to be where the tasty food is located. The pizza was fresh, good ingredients, and clearly made to order. It could have used more sauce and was a bit on the pricey side. But you do get a lot of pizza for the money. Easy to share a smaller than usual pizza with multiple people. The garlic bread was the low light. It was just baked bread with butter and some seasoning. Something that should really be free while you wait. I wouldn't get that again. Otherwise a good experience and would certainly visit again to try other types of pizza they offer here. read more

This place was phenomenal! Having lived in Italy (Bella Napoli to be exact) I am always suspicious of "authentic" pizza. This really is the best pizza in Branson. Great prices, great wines (try the Nero D'avola) and great, fresh pasta. We visit Branson from Florida once a year and I am looking forward to eating here again next year. Glad they are not on the strip with all of the craziness and tourists. Do not let the location deter you, (shopping center) I promise it is worth it.
