We had cocktails and they were refreshing! The wait list for a table went fast, they told us 30 minutes but was more like 15 minutes. The crust was fantastic magical. I visited this past weekend over the 4th and unfortunately had a really concerning experience with…read morewhat was supposed to be a gluten-free meal. I ordered the gluten-free Rosso pizza and specifically confirmed with my server that I was gluten free. At one point, the kitchen initially brought over my pizza, and when I double checked, they told me it was NOT gluten free. Their team then took it back to the kitchen to remake with a gluten free crust. After that, my dad and fiancé received their regular pizzas while mine took another 30 or so minutes to come out. They eventually stopped eating so I wouldn't have to eat my food alone, and by then their food was cold. There were also several other order issues during the meal, including the wrong salad being brought to our table after another long wait, which is not a huge deal (it was a holiday weekend and they were busy) but it felt like our entire order was miscommunicated. What led me to write this review is I'm quite certain that the "gluten-free" pizza I was ultimately served was not actually gluten free. For the next few days after eating it, I became very sick with symptoms consistent with gluten exposure, and it honestly impacted the remainder of my time in door county. What especially raised concern for me was that our server later sent us home with another gluten-free Rosso pizza as an apology for the wait times and order mix ups, and it looked dramatically different from the pizza I had just been served. The crust, texture, and overall appearance were completely different, which made me increasingly worried I had been served the wrong order. The "gluten free" pizza I had been served (in the image attached) looks identical to my dad's regular pizza (plate behind it) and nothing like the other GF pizza crusts in the reviews. I did notice this when our server finally brought over my pizza however she did confirm it was gluten-free. I understand restaurants get busy especially over holidays and mistakes happen, and I'm not trying to be harsh or accusatory. But for customers with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, this is a serious health issue, not a preference. I really hope the restaurant takes a closer look at its gluten-free procedures and communication between the kitchen and servers, because this experience was really disappointing. Inland also does not have an email posted on their website nor can you leave a message when calling, when I tried to discuss with them directly.

We came in for dinner and requested a table for 3. Since my mother has mobility issues, she can't do booths or tables with high top chairs. After being told we'd have to wait 15-20 minutes (which turned out to be less that 10 minutes), a woman was about to seat us and told us that they can't give us a table but could offer us a booth and put a chair in the middle of the aisle. No and that's not what we asked for. Your host staff need to learn the difference between a booth, a table, and a high top table. Also, sticking a chair in the walkway is really not an acceptable option. We ended up being seated at a huge half booth/half table in the far back corner big enough for a family of 8-10. Another customer's power scooter was also crammed behind us and when they needed to access the scooter, it was quite an ordeal to work around us, even when we tried to move a bit. Our server was a young man. Pleasant and professional. I had the cheese ravioli, my dad has the porcini rigatoni (I've had it before and it's very good!) and my mom had the mushroom ravioli. Her mushroom ravioli claimed to have a marscapone cream sauce. She ended up sending it back because it tasted like alfredo that had gone rancid. Our server was very nice about changing the dish out for the rigatoni and her replacement came out very quickly. We learned that they put brandy into all their pasta sauces and apparently the cook must have put too much in. Granted the alcohol burns off in the cooking process, but I think we'd have liked to know if liquor was being put into our food, especially when it's not mentioned on the menu. I hope they don't use the same practices on their kids entrees. Overall, I've never really had much of an issue with the food here, but I feel like everytime we come to Sonny's, there's something that goes wrong. Oh well, at least I got 4 jars of marinara sauce for $10 due to their surplus sale by the host station! ;)

Nothing against Elmo's - they didn't have a gluten free crust so they were out as my wife has celiac issues. We called Wild man to ask about gluten free "yeah, but we will be honest with you, we buy the crust as we don't have our own ready yet. Just want your expectations to be in line." Fine - At least we can eat together as a family. My wife ordered a Margarita gluten free and my son and I ordered the cheese bread and a regular margarita pizza. Soda comes in a can which is fine but obviously no refills. Still fine. The cheese bread came out first and it was great. Piping hot, tons of flavor and really good mozzarella melted into the cuts. Personally, that's how it should be. The pizzas came up next. Yes, there is a stark difference in the appearance between the two but we were also told to expect that. The taste was still very good on the GF version. The standard version was amazing - cooked to perfection. I had to share photos with my Italian co-workers. A WORD ABOUT GLUTEN FREE: My wife has been navigating GF for a little over a year now - not something someone typically has to do in their mid 40's. You have to re-learn food, and we have to re-learn how to eat as a family. Huge shoutout to Wild man for offering a gluten free option and being beyond honest about it. If you took the word of the owners, it's not good... they called it mediocre. My wife called it very good and we were grateful to have the option to try a new place as a family. We will be back.

Overall, even though I give it 4 stars, I can't see myself coming back.
