We had an amazing family/newborn photoshoot with Pixie which included individuals from age 1 month to 75 years old...plus a dog! The pictures came out fabulous. Pixie was a blessing in disguise on our wedding day. Our timeline for post ceremony photos were delayed by over an hour. She arrived before our guest and was ready way ahead of time. She did in one hour what we set out to accomplish in two. Please, for those who are familiar with wedding day schedules, know that this is a huge break we got. In addition, she really knew how to pose us, and our wedding part,y in a manner that made us look better than we expected. She captured the essence of our wedding day. Wow where to start. First off my husband and much of my family is very camera shy. I wanted your traditional wedding photos but needed to make sure it all wasn't a nightmare for my husband to be and family, Pixie was absolutely perfect! She got all the photos done quick and efficiently. Not to mention they all turned out so fantastic. But I'm getting ahead of myself. From the start she worked with me and was quick to respond on all emails, she used a shared Google doc for many correspondences and I loved that. I could update her on everything as I was planning and she often times was responding immediately after so we could talk things over right there. Our wedding was in big sur and had a fairy/elf/gatsby theme and she had so many fun ideas for shots and also a parasol prop idea (which I am so happy I purchased because it looked stunning in all the shots she took) From the minute she arrived at the wedding she never felt like the odd out of place photographer but fit right in which led to so many amazing candid photos. She made me laugh so much too which looked great as well. Again she really was quick and listened to my concerns about my camera shy family. She got fantastic pictures of us all and made us all smile and laugh, not to mention she ended up teaching me about how I pose and what looks good (don't know of this was intentional or not but I now copy what she told me and all my pictures look much better now) When it came time for her to edit, again she was quick and kept me involved and always listened to my concerns, likes, dislikes, all of it! Where do I even begin.... From the start Pixie was very helpful organizing each individual photo I wanted to capture on our wedding day. Making our lists and checking them twice, with over 160 guests and about 8 papers (probably more) worth of photos I wanted to get, Pixie had her work cut out for her. Pixie is many things: talented, creative, quirky, passionate, timely, skilled, and FAST. We hired her to do our engagement photos and our wedding photos. She took time to get to know who we were and what our vibe was before we even did the shoots, and stayed on top of everything even when we were swamped with wedding planning. And best of all, she embraced all our considerable weirdness and captured both art and a fabulous journal of so many things that day we didn't see in a flurry of diy and uncoordinated helpers. Pixie came through and made sure everything and everyone was captured beautifully on film. She even brought a second photographer for free (Thank you!!!) and he captured a couple of our favorite pictures of all. We were thrilled when we saw them. Both of them showed up right on time and made sure that all bases had been covered before they left. Then she did her magical pixie magic after thing and made the photos even BETTER. We now have photos that would have been lovely on their own turned into wall-worthy art pieces. We've already named our favorite, a picture of us in our Victorianesque Steampunk wedding dresses in front of our 1950s car on a street she made almost unrecognizable by turning the whole scene into a late Victorian-style photograph. We called it "A time machine built for two." Pixie is also more than helpful when it comes to alteration requests. We had a situation with too-bright lipstick throwing several photos off balance, and she turned it into a most flattering shade seamlessly and overnight. It's small details like that that make Pixie and her enthusiasm for what she does shine. I usually hate looking at photos of myself, but I look at the photos Pixie took over and over again. We had our Faerie / Viking Enchanted Forest Masquerade themed wedding in Mt Shasta in July of 2011. We were not only lucky enough to have a magical wedding that everyone enjoyed, we had the incomparable Pixie there to capture it all! We knew of Pixie's photography long before our engagement. And we were overjoyed when we found out she was not only available, but as excited about our themed wedding as we were! She is very organized and efficient. She returns emails & phone calls promptly. Pixie had us create a must have shot list before the wedding. The day of the wedding, she was up at dawn, taking beautifully composed shots of our invitation, rings, wedding decorations and the grounds. Her eye for detail is impeccable. Pixie was wonderful with our guests as she directed the shots. Firm, but polite and very funny! She made us all feel at ease as she got not only the shots on our list, but many, many more! Pixie knows how to tell a story in every picture. Even in the more formal wedding portraits, there is always something interesting happening in the photo. And as far as vanity goes: her glamour bridal shots of me were breathtaking! She made me look and feel gorgeous! The best part of all were the pictures of my husband and I after the ceremony. It was as though she directed a little movie! She created a story that captured the essence of our relationship. The pictures are unbelievably beautiful and remind us of movie stills! And later during our Masquerade parade & reception she truly captured the magic of the event. She made every guest look & feel like a rockstar as they showed off their enchanted forest themed masquerade costumes! We had a challenging wedding to photograph: outdoor & indoor in various locations throughout the entire day and into the night. She didn't miss a moment: our kiss, my mothers toast, and my favorite: my laugh as my husband dipped me during our first dance! As a whole, if you look at our album you will see that she not only got ALL of the requisite shots, she got them artistically. She also got several shots we hadn't even thought of. She put them all together and created a wonderful narrative of our special day. We thought we had hired a wedding photographer, but after viewing the photos (swiftly & deftly edited, and online!) we feel like we commissioned a work of art! read more

She recently photographed our wedding here in upstate NY and her dedication to task, boundless energy for shooting, and ability to see and capture all the small details that went into such a momentous event were appreciated and surpassed our expectations.
