I visited Pixie Beauty Lab today for a full set gel manicure with a senior technician. Overall, I had a good experience and I'm giving them 4 stars. The appointment took around 2.5 hours, and I liked the final color and overall look of the nails. The salon itself is very clean and has a luxury/self-care vibe. As soon as I walked in, they offered me a complimentary fancy drink and a small treat, which was such a nice touch. They also have iPads available during the service, so I ended up watching Emily in Paris while getting my nails done. What impressed me the most was their cleanliness. After each customer, they thoroughly cleaned everything with Clorox wipes, including the desk, chairs, and surrounding area. As a first-time customer, they also gave me 10% off plus a cute little gift bag with cuticle oil, hand cream, and nail care instructions. The reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because I expected a little more attention to detail for a professional service at this level. A couple of nails had small imperfections. For example, one thumb wasn't fully covered near the edges and part of it looked matte, almost like the top coat didn't fully seal the edge. One other nail also had a slightly uneven surface. They're small details, but noticeable up close. Overall though, I enjoyed the experience, loved the atmosphere, and would consider coming back again to try other technicians. read more

I had an old dip manicure on my natural nails and a broken nail. She removed all of my old dip manicure and did an extension to my broken nail that matched perfectly. Absolutely the worst customer service, ever! I was trying to book a pedicure with my local spa and I must have dialed Pixie Lab instead. The person who answered the phone had such a heavy accent I couldn't understand and she never said Pixie Lab in her greeting so I thought I was talking to my spa. I then had to provide all manner of info I didn't feel 100% comfortable about, including my cc info. The next day I'm happily enjoying my pedicure at Spa Jolie in Madison Park (a lovely spa, BTW) and I start getting phone calls and texts from Pixie Lab. I assumed Pixie Lab was a billing service my spa used so thought nothing of it when I saw their name in their emails and texts. Now I get I must have messed up in the first place, but the whole process from not understanding the receptionist who answered the phone, to the info they required from me to the no less than 5 texts and emails essentially asking me and reminding of the same thing that by this time I was truly just disgusted with the whole situation. They told me I'd have to pay for the service even though this was a complete fiasco from start to finish. I assumed the cost of the pedicure would be around $50-$60 which has been the going rate for my pedicures for years. Want to even guess what they charged? $130 plus tax! I asked for a regular pedicure and I feel fairly certain they randomly decided to charge me the most expensive menu on their menu. It takes an awful lot for me to write a bad review, and I know this is a bit of a rant, but I'm truly burning with anger. PLEASE DO NOT FREQUENT THIS BUSINESS! read more
