This was a pretty cool retro arcade bar that had games ranging between $.50 to a dollar per play. They had a lot of pinballs and old school games. It's cash for the game tokens so be sure to have cash on hand or you'll need to use the atm on site. It was a fun time and would check it out if you enjoy the retro vibes!

My boyfriend made a reservation for 3 people for trivia night. When we arrived and told them we had a reservation, we were told to sit anywhere. This was a bit confusing because at our usual trivia spot a reservation means having a specific table reserved. Maybe a reservation isn't required here? We arrived slightly before 7, but our server didn't come to our table until 15 minutes after, just after happy hour ended. She apologized for not serving us immediately because they were understaffed, which I understood. I asked her if we could still get happy hour because we arrived before 7, but she told us no because the computer would register it as after. I really hoped they had a way to override this and give it to us anyway (some restaurants do), but I'll give myself more time to catch happy hour next time. The atmosphere was overstimulating. The music was still played loud while the trivia questions were being read, and the arcade games added to the noise. It would've been better if they turned the music down or off at least while the questions were being read. The trivia host was kinda condescending, but I heard this was a guest host, so it's not always the same. Despite everything above, I had a good time and enjoyed my mango-man drink! I love fruity drinks and I can definitely see myself getting it again. My boyfriend enjoyed mine so much that he got one for himself too. We were in last place at the first half but finished 2nd after wagering all our points on the last question LOL. I think there's still room for improvement, but it was still a fun time and I will return! Especially because we now have $ to spend from our prize :)

What a cool little retro-meets-modern joint! I went here for a work event, but I'd never heard of it and was pleasantly surprised! Take a look at all the cool stuff, and the food and service are really great too! We had catered wings, Mac-n-cheese, and various cookies, which were all yummy! I

Big shout out to pixels!! We had a party of 30+ for a 60th birthday. The staff was attentive and friendly throughout our whole time there. The food was delicious. We had a wonderful time.

Philanthropic restaurant who supports our sons' little league. Visit on a Saturday afternoon earned 4/5 overall. Some challenges with parking and 1 waitress for the entire second floor (she was hustling though). My sons were with me and enjoyed the old school video games while we waited (a long time) for food and drinks. Good variety of beverages. Food menu had surprising number of options; prices on par w Ghent area dives. Hot chicken sandwich was better than expected, though I envisioned more than 5 macaroni noodles when I read the description. Tots looked good but found to be meh.

Need I say more!! If Galaga is here--it MUST be cool!

Simply put, this place is friggin' cool! Wow! I was catapulted back to the early 80's and my love of dropping quarter after quarter in a video game returned. If you EVER played it as a kid, trust me--that game is sitting in this two level bar. It's so coo!

So, this is a very fun place. Felt like about 1/4 of the games were down. Kind of sad. But they still had a good selection and we had a good time. Apparently the trick is to not go on a Sunday afternoon/evening, if you want to try the food, they were 86 on a lot of things. However, what was available was pretty good. They staff was super friendly and the drinks were good. And this particular Sunday was slow and kind of quiet, so it was very relaxing. So maybe Sunday is the time to go. It is very easy to blow a chunk of change here. Each game is between 0.25 - 1.00, with all the good ones being 0.75 - 1.00. However, with the pinball machines, if you feed 2.00 in at once, you get 3 plays, which is good for me, I love pinball. Skiball machine is on a timer, and really low to the ground, wish they would raise it up about a foot, for my backs sake. kinda sucks having to beat the timer, but still fun. Overall 2 drinks, 2 apps, 2 meals and a lot of game play (about $20 worth) came out to about $90, not including tip. Our bartender, downstairs, was great, she got better than the 20%. I give 4 stars for the games and 3 stars for the food. Maybe if I was able to get some of the things I ordered I'd give it a 4. Maybe. We ordered 4 things, one of which was the nachos, it literally had 4 jalapeño slices and 3 tomatoes cubes on it. And looks like someone got over zealous scooping the black beans. Cheese was nothing to write home about either. But overall I'd go back for the games and the drinks, it was good time to play all the fun games from the childhood. I rank my decisions to eat / visit somewhere again as: 1 star - if someone else buys it I won't eat it, I would rather go hungry. 2 star - if I'm hungry, no other options are open and someone buys it - I would consider eating it 3 star - I'm ok with eating it as long as someone else pays 4 star - I will eat again and pay for it and be a semi-regular customer 5 star - I will travel for good food and pay good money and be back on a regular basis and maybe even pay for yours just so we can go

This was my first visit here. Very nostalgic place. Perfect casual date night spot. Variety of pinball machines to classics like Frogger, Pac-Man, Mrs Pac-Man, Galactica, Centipede, Mortal Kombat, air hockey, and many more. We tried the Philly loaded tots. They were decent. The tots were cooked perfectly, grilled onions, and a delicious cheese sauce. Real steak was used but needed to be cut into smaller chunks. It seemed like a steak that was cut into thirds. The cocktails are what's keeping this from 5 stars. The flavors didn't go well together. The other cocktail was Jaegermeister based with ginger beer. Had a black licorice taste. I would return!

Is it family friendly?

We went in the day time on Saturday and there was a ton of younger children there. Ages from as young as five. They were having fun! Not sure about the night vibe though.

Is there any space to reserve for a private party?

Considering they occupy 2 floors and have al fresco seating, I would say yes, they have the space. But I'm not confident they actually reserve for private parties. It'd be best to confirm with Pixels directly. JV

Located near Ghent and downtown Norfolk, this restaurant was a really pleasant find. The parking…read morelot is small, but we had no trouble finding street parking nearby. It was a little chilly tonight, but I imagine the outdoor seating would be perfect on a warmer evening. We didn't have a reservation, but luckily we were seated within seconds. The space itself is on the smaller side, but it's thoughtfully designed and perfect for a cozy date night. Every employee who passed by greeted us, which made the atmosphere feel especially welcoming. We started with the octopus, served with potato foam, pickled pear, and chorizo. For entrées, he ordered the duck and I had the pork bolognese. Both dishes were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. We also ordered drinks. I do wish they had come out a bit earlier so we could enjoy them sooner, but the selection was impressive. We chose the bartender's choice, which was a really fun experience. The waitress asks a few questions, and based on your answers the bartender creates a drink they think you'll love. We were too full for dessert, though they did offer four different options. Overall, we were really happy we tried this restaurant and will definitely be back.

Inside, there are a small number of tables and a bar. We had the crispy octopus to start. It was cooked perfectly, was tender and had great flavor. For my entree I had the halibut. It was slightly overcooked (a little dry), but the portion was a good size and flavors were nice. I don't remember what the dessert we had was called, but it is the reason for -1 star. It was chocolate something but the flavor was just weird, texture was not great either. They gave me a complimentary small piece of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream as well for my birthday, but that was not good either. Cake was dry and ice cream tasted watery and the texture was off. This was disappointing because I love dessert, but probably wouldn't risk ordering it here again.

He came here for his first meal in town and John treated him to a glass of wine with his gourmet grilled cheese He brought us to the experience : Brussels sprouts -- delicious with sweet and spicy and hazelnut Goat cheese and beet salad: good dressing, nice mix, exactly what I wanted for dinner Truffle tots: yeah, tots are good, but with truffle and Parmesan? Wow!! The vibes here are great. There's music on but you can still talk to people. Seating at the bar or tables or, if the weather is nice, on the front porch. Roasted Carrot beet with labneh and dukkah : delicious Dumplings-- good but spicy for me Miso butter gnocchi with mushrooms-- delicious Roasted salmon-- folks were split on this between "solid" and good Salad of farro and spinach with beets and goat cheese and pear -- this was amazing. Bartender was incredibly attentive for having a full bar. We each had 2 different cocktails and both were distinctive and excellently crafted. We had shared a couple of the small plates and enjoyed them both. We enjoyed the place so much that we decided to come back with a group of 14 for All Lovers Eve. Second time: Made the reservation with ease. If you've ever made a group reservation you know how complicated some places make it. This was a large group and they were short handed. This lead to a slower service which actually worked out well for our group. We didn't mind the gaps. They put us in their back room (hint - GREAT for groups) there was a little confusion with the order to include an extra dish we didn't order. We still ate it and paid for it though. The staff was great with our large and rather disruptive group. The food was all excellent (local oysters on the half shell and the apple desert were my highlights). Multiple cocktails that were all wonderful. My only real negative was that there was a $50 "loyalty club " charge that was never mentioned and I didn't even notice on the $1200.00 bill. This is, I believe, some sort of credit card fee. Both times were good. Both times staff were wonderful. Both times we were comfortable. Give the place a try. I don't think you will regret it.

I ordered the crab cakes (great sauce and aioli), Brussels (hot honey with goat cheese and cranberries), junglebird drink (delicious, it wasn't overly sweet), and ribeye. All delicious. I was not disappointed. It was such a chill place. It wasn't overly loud. It was clean. I recommend.

We came in for the dinner special but also caught happy hour, which was a nice bonus since we were able to try a few extra appetizers. The bacon-wrapped dates with balsamic glaze were incredible, and the lobster croquettes were just as good. Our server even made sure we got our happy hour orders in before it ended, which we really appreciated. The drinks were solid as well. The Caesar salad was good, but a little hard to eat since the lettuce wasn't chopped. The atmosphere made up for it though--the decor is beautiful and we sat outside on the patio on a perfect day. It was relaxing, comfortable, and not too loud, with good music in the background. After dinner, we walked over to First Friday to end the night, which was the perfect way to walk off the meal. Overall, I'd definitely recommend and would return again, especially to try more of the happy hour menu.

I'd definitely give customer service a 10/10. For the meal, I started with a Caesar salad. It was good but needed more dressing for my taste. We also ordered extras: the lobster croquettes and bacon-wrapped dates. The croquettes were solid, but the bacon-wrapped dates were the standout, absolutely delicious and the best thing I had. For my entrée, I got the Boursin Chicken. It wasn't bad, but it needed more seasoning for me personally. I also wasn't a big fan of the sun-dried tomato mashed potatoes, it just wasn't my preference. I did try the beef bourguignon and liked that more. For dessert, I had the lemon soufflé, which was light and really good. Overall, the $28 deal is a great value and the experience was enjoyable. Not every dish was my favorite, but nothing was bad. I would go back, especially to try their Moroccan Monday menu.

The crab cake tasted like any other crab cake but the sweet potato fries were hot with cinnamon sugar coated in the outside. It was pretty good. The little things, like runners bringing courses and not knowing who gets what, literally barking, who gets the poke bowl was off putting. Such a nice restaurant but needs a lot of work.
