The Surg Center staff kept saying it had been sent to CVS although it had not; I had to spend an entire afternoon after my surgery pursuing the issue. HOWEVER, staff at Metro Orthopedics (MOST) were extremely helpful (even though the issue was not theirs; the mistake came from the Surg Center). Both the MOST front desk and the surgery coordinator Dorinda were very supportive. Dorinda had to spend a lot of time on the phone to get my issue resolved and finally made sure that CVS received the prescription. From this experience, and also from previous interactions, I give 5/5 starts to MOST staff.

She ensured I had the Luna app and my exercises were in an easy-to-follow format. I get her full attention one-on-one for my appointment in my home. Everything with Luna has been first-class. They started texting and calling every day from the day I got out of the hospital for abdominal surgery. The therapist showed up and had no idea about my condition. She started giving me exercises for knee surgery. She had me walk around the block and do some basic squats. Same for the next two sessions. Also she had me do exercises that were detrimental to my recovery and harmful for my abdominal surgery. From the beginning they said insurance would cover it and I would owe $7.50. Imagine my surprise when they billed me $300 for the first session and $175 for the others. When I told them the therapist worked with me for less than 30 minutes they said her documenting and planning care counted, not just actual patient care. The therapist couldn't have spent that much time planning my care when she thought I had knee surgery and her main therapy was walking around the block! Also, their own website says self pay will cost $125. Luna will try to extract any extra dollar from people when they are at their most vulnerable. They lure you in by telling you it's covered by insurance and then bill you a ridiculous amount for a session that begins late and ends 20 minutes early.

I did some homework on Dr. Martin's background, and while I was looking for someone more in the field of classic pain management, he seemed to have the appropriate skills, and was willing to see me on (short notice) with an open mind. At first glance, Dr. Martin is part of a very busy practice so I was worried about his not taking the time to listen but was pleasantly surprised there. He listened, digested my data, answered a salvo of a dozen or so questions I had for him and did not hold back details which is what I look for. Another interesting thing about him is how he augments his eyes and hands with a sonogram device, and he's a purist on that (he does his own sonograms). This was a big twist for me. My previous pain management specialist was more of a drive-by feel physician, but it seems Dr. Martin uses this tool as a very interesting safeguard and targeting system, again, all good. The other interesting thing is Dr. Martin's core skills, which seem to be heavily baked around kinetics (kinesics?). This added an interesting perspective in how he looks at the areas he treats not as static body parts and he heavily take into account how muscles move and pull on other things that can cause issues.
