I would have remained with Rachel but unfortunately, this injury is going to take time to heal along with many PT visits.

I have been seeing her off and on for maintenance and to rehab a stress fracture in my foot for the past six months. She has kept me running strong and has helped me improve my strength routine in that time. Kerry is amazing at dry needling. She focuses on your symptoms and descriptions and then often will treat another area entirely that will result in relief. I could tell Kerry knew what she was doing when during our first appointment, she could tell my right side was weaker than my left and was out of alignment with a single look. I will continue to rely on her expertise for as long as she continues working.

Given…read moreher obvious expertise and her understanding of the issue I was having, I decided to go to her for physical therapy. I had been having chronic pain down both my arms for years, which no PT or OT had ever been able to correctly diagnose or treat. Kerry told me during our first session that my pain should clear up in about two months after our sessions + an at-home strengthening and stretching regimen she provided and added to weekly. I honestly didn't believe that something that had caused me so much pain for so long could be treated so quickly. And sure enough, after about two months of weekly sessions, that shooting pain I had was getting better and eventually went away. Two other things were key: being diligent about performing the at-home exercises that Kerry provided and my continued attention to my posture and habits at my workstation - both of which Kerry reinforced the importance of during our sessions. I really can't say enough good things about Kerry. Besides the fact that she treated my pain, for which I'll be forever grateful, she's a very good listener, treats her patients with respect and is incredibly knowledgeable in her field. Her practice doesn't accept insurance, but the money I spent on my PT sessions was money very well spent given the outcome. Kerry's expertise is worth every penny and more. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

They love the science behind what it is they do, and use it to heal your body. Dry needling, blading, assisting your body to move incrementally with support, even massage -- they use a wide range of tools from their expansive toolkit based on what your body needs. I especially enjoyed the explanations from Dr. Ho to my endless questions about what he was doing and why it works. His mastery of anatomy, physiology, and PT was evident every time I went. With just a few touches, Ho could pinpoint exactly where my pain was and address it appropriately. 2. The support staff is competent, helpful, and friendly. Ora and Justin were encouraging and provided excellent guidance for my exercises. Scheduling and billing was easy and pleasant. While I am not in need of PT now, I will be a client for life and will hightail it back to Rockville Physical Therapy the next time I do.

And let me tell you, it was incredibly helpful!! After each session I had with Elizabeth (Liz) Karhl, I always left feeling better with looser muscle tissue, additional bone mobility & better physical range of bodily motion. Having been to several different PT providers in Maryland, it is my opinion that Precision PT is the best. I think this because I saw Liz after seeing a doctor about my shoulder injury, and when the doctor said everything looked good (it didn't feel that way at all), Liz was able to diagnose the actual cause of my shoulder pain, and through manual treatment, help fix the issue. So if you're looking to improve your physical health or simply want another opinion on how PT can help fix an injury, pick up the phone and give Liz a call!!

I really liked the fact that you do not need to sign a contract with Precision and although they offer monthly memberships, you can also buy class cards, which is good for me since I am not an extremely structured exerciser. Also, they offer both fitness classes, equipment, and physical therapy, which appealed to me since I've had multiple injuries the past few years that have been affecting my activity level. Precision is in one of the office parks in the Rockledge area and is nothing fancy in terms of its looks and doesn't fall into the category of a "bargain gym," but the classes I've been to (spin, yoga, and pilates reformer) are FABULOUS and are worth every penny! They are challenging, and the instructors really pay attention to what you are doing and make an effort to introduce themselves to new people in their classes, learn your name, and help you adjust as needed to really perform the exercises correctly. They are also great about asking if you have any injuries that limit some of your movements and help you modify as needed. Besides the great classes, the people who attend the classes are much friendlier than in any gym I've belonged to EVER, which is pretty refreshing. The only down side is they do not offer too much in the evenings in terms of classes...so I am trying my best to become a morning exerciser. It's probably better for me anyways to get it out of the way first thing in the day :)

Sometimes the adjustment relieves my pain within one session but I usually do regular maintenance appointments since my insurance covers it. About 2 years ago, I had really bad foot pain, it took several Piezowaze Therapy appointments to help finally fix it (about 6ish months of every other week appointments). And the pain hasn't come back ever since. When Hena was added to the team, it made this practice even better. Prior to Hena, Dr. Lee did dry acupuncture too but just a little bit and mostly focusing on where I tell him the problem area is. Now that Hena was added. It's not always focused on pain, sometimes if I tell her that my brain fog is particularly high that day or I'm having alot of anxiety, she is able to do certain acupuncture points that helps with that. One particular day, my anxiety level was pretty high, and whatever point she hit, I weirdly felt instantly blissed out haha. That's the first time I felt that with acupuncture. I was very relaxed that day. The blissed out feeling doesn't always happen, but I definitely trust her. She also introduced me to cupping and I am now obsessed with it. I never knew anything about it before, and it's crazy how much it actually helps relieve my back tension and how it detoxes the body. TLDR- I went here with the impression the OT would get my healed fractured wrist back to working…read moreagain, but he did not and the professionalism and care seemed to exist for exactly one month of appointments- which doesn't seem like a timeline based on rehab/healing- but insurance or the bottom line. I could be wrong. But my wrist sure doesn't work, but I "graduated" in exactly a month. I've never had an injury like this before. I broke my wrist really badly. Or more specifically- I had a left distal radius fracture with associated distal ulna fracture, then ORIF surgery/ open reduction, internal fixation- so I have a plate in my wrist now. I'd already tried a physical therapy mill where you learn and do your own exercises independently, you even timed yourself- so Danny the OT here was a huge step up. He seemed like he genuinely cared about what he does and the patient's successful recovery. After the last experience I felt finally someone will help me get my hand and wrist back to working order. On our first appointment he scheduled us for the next month of appointments. And funny enough, I "graduated" on that last scheduled day. I had no idea it would be the last day until the end of the appointment. It was also the first time he had a student/intern or something shadow him- which I felt uncomfortable with. It is just a hand, but talking about your defects or the vulnerability of not being able to do very simple things- is not something I feel comfortable talking about in front of a person I never met. It felt very impersonal. And despite the joy they expressed at my "graduation"- from the OT, the intern, and the OT's assistant. They all congratulated me. Which felt confusing, because I can't open a medicine bottle. I can't clasp anything on my back. I can't really twist any cap. I walk my dog with a waist leash because I don't have the strength on dexterity in that hand to walk him anymore with my hands. But I graduated. I was told this as if it was cause for celebration but I just thought- no one's going to help me. I took the steps instead of the elevator as I left the office for privacy because I started crying. I cried walking down the stairwell. I felt just abandoned with my often painful weak wrist and severely limited ROM. I don't know how to fix my wrist on my own and no one seems to care enough to treat me until I have a working hand/wrist. He was obviously done assisting me but as I looked up certified hand therapists - the best ones are in his office. He was done assisting me, but why didn't he recommend his colleague? A CHT. So I can open medicine bottles, and honestly just clasp my bra in the back. Or really a hundred things that come up every day. I don't understand why he couldn't help me fix this. It seems so wrong to just not at least refer me to someone. Every metric that determines a successful wrist rehab is abominable for me. By the range of motion numbers, I desperately need OT or a certified hand specialist. I was still dropped without notice or a path to figuring out how to tie my shoes in one try. I felt just hopeless about it. Like he thought this was good enough. My trust and hope is near depleted. It's just a hand. I know. But it's a part of me. Every time I can't do something I used to be able to do it's like a reminder I'm not whole yet. And I wish I didn't have to fight for the most basic rehab care. I'll start again, when I can muster the emotional energy to at least act like I have additional reserve of trust. I don't know if this is what people have to fight through, but it's not right. Especially when you're at your most vulnerable. I feel bad for everyone just trying to recover, who is left with a defective piece of themselves and the confusing task of navigating a way towards just being whole again, or even just regaining the ability to clasp their own darn bra.
