Not only does this place have really cool artwork, but the food was really good too. The garlic soup was probably my favorite, and the Pivrnic Farts (lol) was actually so delicious. I would recommend trying to get a reservation since this place was pretty packed, but my friends and I really enjoyed it!

Such a fun 2-story restaurant! We got there earlier in the evening so we luckily got seated but I recommend making reservations. The decor all around the restaurant is so bright and fun-I've never seen anything like it. For two, we got the garlic soup and pork knuckle for a "lighter meal." Czech food is heavier so we were plenty full. I got a raspberry lemonade (non-alcoholic) which was very refreshing. Beer is cheaper than water so if you drink beer, definitely get a Pilsner!

Great service, and Staropramen tank beer straight from the brewery on tap! Beautiful!

We visited here as the last stop on a beer tour. This brewery has one of the few places that Staropramen (national beer) is served unfiltered. The beer is delicious - however, we learned that unfiltered means it is a lot higher calorie than normal - worth it on vacation :). We also ordered some meals here to share. We tried the traditional goulash- it was a bit spicier than we cared for and wasn't my favorite. The Svickova (beef in a creamy stroganoff style sauce topped with "whipped cream" and cranberry - served with a side of dumplings) was delicious! It started our obsession with ordering this every day of our trip. A few things to note- we were in the downstairs area of this pub which was a great area for big groups. However, it is covered in cartoons some of which are inappropriate for kids - especially in the bathrooms. We were fine with them but just a note for families. Also, we found the prices to be our most expensive meal in prague. Compared to the US, everything in Prague is cheap, but there are definitely places a bit more reasonable that we ate our other meals.

I don't know what's wrong with the average reviews, but we were soo stuffed from the delicious food at this pub. We also had good service! We shared an addicting garlic soup, a mountain of fresh salad topped with tuna and an appetizer that's funnily called "flatulence". I admit I only ordered that because of the name, but its just onion rings! ;-) This was our last meal in Prague and quite frankly, after quite a few meals of meat, carbs and beer, I had to try something else. The fried carp in garlic and lemon were complemented with perfectly boiled BUTTERED potatoes. My brother liked his fish filet with tomatoes and olives. And as a last hurrah, the bf got the goulash with bread dumplings which didn't disappoint. We all had a refreshing Pilsner Urquell to wash everything down. Why is beer so MUCH better in Prague?! Check out the crude cartoonish artworks hanging on the walls. It might whet your appetite ... or not.

Great service (hence reason for 5 stars). This was the first meal we had in Czech Republic so can't really say how the food is but we thought it was quite good! The beef goulash is perfect for a cold day. Mostly meat dishes. Nice environment (clean, bright). Seating is quite limited.

This restaurant was amazing!! We loved everything we ordered. The restaurant vibe was really fun and a great night out. They had a bunch of beers to select from. They accepted American credit cards!

Very small, casual pub. I ordered the dumplings with sauerkraut because someone suggested that I try them. The dumplings were a great surprise and it was the best sauerkraut I have ever had. The Czech Staropramen dark beer was yummy too!

Awesome We visited as one of the stops on a beer tour and then came back on our own. Fantastic beer, try the unfiltered Staropramen. we carried around a list of czech food to try and here we had the pork knuckle (warning: it's huge!. Feeds 2, 3 if you're not big eaters) and the picked cheese. Both were great. It's slightly more expensive than other places in Prague but it's still pretty cheap. The place is pretty picturesque. Walls are covered in funny/rude (depends on your taste) cartoons and you can write on them as long as you dont write over the drawings. The staff was friendly and helpful, which was not always the case at other places we went to in the city. In short, this was our favorite place in Prague.

The food is here to keep you busy and to slow down how fast you get drunk. Order bar food - fries, sausages, fried cheese- and you'll be great. Order a whole meal and well, you get the picture. The beer is good and the shots may or may not be to your taste. No, they're not free. Why would a beer hall give away alcohol? However, the word "no" is perfectly acceptable if you don't want a shot or another beer. The staff doesn't care whether or not you order beer. I got bottled tea and I saw others drinking coffee. No hassles. Atmosphere is kicka**. On a nice day the outdoor tables are lovely. The interior has to be seen to be believed. If you tried to conjure up a fairytale Bohemian tavern you couldn't come up with something better than this. Stay as long as you like and enjoy the accordion music and the vibe. Much thanks to the staff about are absolutely fantastic and all our guests are impressed with the service we all got that night. The food was well cooked and tastefully presented on the plate, served on hot plates. The glasses were always filled with drinks. The serving of the food was always very well planned. A year later we were back in Prague and booked 'dinner in the tower "to experience the memories and the good food again. In stairs, the staff lit candles, and it was really magical to walk up the stairs. Once up there we are faced by a beautifully set table. We enjoyed a delicious 3 course dinner and the food and staff were like amazing as the last time. I had also ordered by mail a month before the dinning a mini of our wedding cake as dthey make itself was very curious if it would work. They had even looked up our wedding date, and sat on the cake, really that little ekstra. We was in heven. The view from the tower is unique, you have the whole of Prague for your feet! The restaurant is in 4 different parts, Tower, banquet hall, outside the restaurante (also tables inside) and beer garden with 2000 seats with view Prague.

We found this place by accident and it turned out to be quite the memorable dinner in Prague, to say the least. We walked into a dungeon, complete with a basement (be sure to go down there, it's pretty cool), suits of armor, and servers clad in wench get-ups that would be suitable for your local Renaissance fair. The theme is top-notch and is taken to new heights here, yet nothing feels too "hokey" about it. We loved the super dark atmosphere and candles on the long wooden tables. We were seated in a corner by the bar and it felt so cozy and romantic even though the restaurant was busy. Our server was friendly and prompt, and the menus have English translations -- sort of. The broken English on the menu is pretty funny ("good ribs from pig roast"), but we appreciated the assistance because the Czech language is so difficult to read and pronounce! We each ordered a local beer and I was delighted that it was served in large, chilled mugs. The menu had a good mix of local specialties and comfort food, and we ordered a bit of both. To start, we got the Chalupníkův Tejden (garlic soup) and the Couračka, a tasty cabbage soup with sausage and cream. Both of these were delicious and the portion sizes were huge. Our soups were served with a large side of hearty brown bread that was glistening with a layer of lard, as is the norm in Prague. It was also fresh and delicious. Since I was sick of eating pork, I went with the chicken schnitzel. This turned out to be one of my favorite things I ate in the Czech Republic. It was a very large fried chicken breast topped with toasted nuts and a side of green beans. The beans were just okay, but I was craving veggies so I gobbled them up. Hubby got the roasted pork knuckle and said it was well prepared too. Vegetarians can rejoice because the restaurant has a large veggie-friendly menu -- something that can be difficult to find in the city. Choices were interesting too, ranging from omelettes and goat cheese with honey to a baked potato and sauerkraut pancakes. There's a great assortment of salads too. Looking back I'm sure this place was some kind of a tourist trap, but we very much enjoyed our meal. It was by sheer happenstance that we dined here and we were pleasantly surprised by the good service, fair prices, and large portions.
