Great food and great place. Have gone here the last six times I've visited Prague. Always on the list of one of my favorite places to eat.

For me this is a MUST when I am in Prague. But maybe because I'm a huge fan of Kozel... who knows! Let's start with a beer - just amazing! Not heavy, not too much - my style! Now food: a great place to eat and prices are very reasonable for the place (middle of tourists ahah). Had sausage as appetizer- could've stop there. Huge and delicious portion! For main course JS chicken breast with mashed potatoes. Again huge and so yummy! Couldn't get anything else. Servers are working fast (a lot of people) and very efficient, managing both - guest and those who are waiting or trying to sneak in. Apparently they have reservations, so if it's more than 2 - I'd definitely recommend it. Atmosphere inside is very nice and not too loud despite number of people. Outside view is also great. It's very close to Charles Bridge. The service was courteous and very nice. We ordered famous pork knuckle, Old Bohemian beef beer goulash, and sausage roasted in dark beer, plus Pilsner beer. Amount of food was more than 3 of us could handle, we tried our best to make it. The pork knuckle was very tasty with the source, the skin is pretty chewy, it's different than the german style of pork knuckle. We loved the sausage with soft bread, it's just delicious. read more

The food was really good. I can recommend the duck leg with red cabbage. The service was good, too. The only reason they lost a star is the toilet in the ladies room. I've been here two nights in a row, and the toilet seat is really dirty. I do not understand--every other restroom in Prague is very clean. read more

In need of some warm food, we went to Kozlovna Apropos for a late lunch after finding it online. Located minutes from Charles Bridge, and so close to the Four Seasons that their wifi network came up, this restaurant seems to have a prime location. Additionally it seems to be favored by many as it was nearly full when we entered and nearly full when we left. We both ordered the Old Bohemian Soup and it was delivered promptly and hot. The soup appeared to be a macerated French Onion Soup that tasted good but lacked cheese and consistency in the croutons/bread pieces. Ten minutes after we finished our meals, our Grilled Cheese appetizer came out. Ideally we would've preferred to eat everything together or have the appetizer preface the meals. read more

The hotel we were staying at recommend this place. We had some very good local food. I had the pork knuckle and it was excellent. My son recommended that from his experience in Prague. I'm glad I had it, even though it was way too much good, it was excellent. I'd you go here try it you will be glad you did. read more

Fresh into town, we wanted to try something authentic, and I think we just found something authentic in the "Applebees of Prague" kind of way. Both of us left feeling sick and heavy, and my friend knew that her food was laden with MSG from the way her head felt. Not good. Veg options were few and far between, which we figured would be the case in an "authentic" Czech restaurant, but the dishes we got were particularly bad. I ordered some fried cheese dish with fries that was not even good by the standards of a child, and my friend got an even more frightening "risotto" that looked exactly like canned cream corn in the States. She also ordered dumplings, which came with sausage (not labeled on the menu), and she was lectured for not eating them (because they were not good). However, not all was lost: the steamed broccoli was good, as was the beer (of course, Czech beer was good). This was a meal we had to walk off and not in a positive way. read more

A very legitimate Czech dining experience, and with a selection of more generic food if you are looking for that. Good beer list (pretty standard for the local Czech restaurant scene, but good to know), nice selection of mixed drinks / cocktails. Good goulash, very flavorful sausages, beef was great in a terrific sauce. We had the beetroot carpaccio to start and just decimated it, really good, we each could have had our own. Two levels to the restaurant, downstairs was quieter and more casual, but both were fine. Both the strudel and the ice cream with raspberries were spot on. Family friendly. Friendly waitstaff who speak English along with a couple other languages. Menu in Czech, German, French, English, and Russian. read more

Best beer and meal I had in Prague. I took a break from the traditional goulash (which looked fabulous here- the table next to us had it) and ordered the veal cheeks. Soooooo good. Served with mashed potatoes to top it off. Great beer. Good service. Nice ambiance. We got there fairly early for dinner, but the place was packed. A true testament of its credibility. read more

Two very enthusiastic thumbs up! We heard about this place from a local Czech guy we met named Roman. My wife and I have been in Prague for 72hrs... and this is by far the best food experience we've had yet. Service was excellent, food was really good and the beer was great. 4 apps, a main course (rainbow trout was delish), and 3 beers was $40- easily half the cost you'd pay in the states. It's hard to find good service at a reasonable price in Prague. If we weren't leaving tomorrow we'd come back again. read more

A bit of a tourist trap to be honest. Food is 6/10. Yet much pricier then better options nearby.

I was recounting my recent trip to Prague and remembered an extremely bad experience at this restaurant. My friends and I had lunch here and the staff was the rudest that we encountered while in Europe. I understand that we are tourists but this restaurant is in one of the most touristy areas of the city. The old man huffed and puffed while taking our orders, brought out an incorrect dish (which we didn't bother to complain about), and then was extremely rude when he brought out our check. He made it a point to jab his finger at where he stamped "Service not included." If you're visiting, skip this restaurant. There are many others in the area. read more

We ordered a few beer, Svíčková (traditional Czech dish - steak prepared with vegetables, spiced with black pepper, allspice, bay leaf and thyme, and boiled with double cream), and a salad. Our tour guide recommended this place to us! He said this is where the locals eat, which means this the place that Praguans trust to eat. And it is true- a very authentic Czech restaurant with delicious food and great prices. And they have menus in many different languages, which makes it easier for tourists. I'm in Prague for a week, I was recommended this place as good Czech food and I would agree. The goulash and the onion soup were quite tasty and the Kozel beer is delicious! In Prague the servers aren't overly friendly so that was a little odd but they did have Wifi. read more

Ate here for lunch with my folks on a recent visit to Prague. While I'm pretty sure I ate at one of the best restaurants in the city for dinner one night, this place blew every other meal out of the water. First off, Kozel beer is officially the best beer I've ever had. My mother hates beer and she LOVED it! We started out with a few appetizers along with a bowl of czech goulash. All of which were excellent. We ended up splitting the "Rustic Czech Plate" for a main course, it's such a huge dish that 3 people can easily split it, especially after some apps to start with. The plate had pretty much EVERYTHING. Duck, several different types of sausage, different cuts of pork, 2 types of cabbage, bread and potato dumplings. It was so much amazing food, but sadly we fell just short of finishing the plate. Pretty sure I still fell into a food coma, even after walking the meal off afterwards. If you're looking for authentic Czech food and beer, this place will not disappoint at all. read more

By far the best value for being so close by to major tourist attractions. In general with the value of the Koruna to Euro you can dine pretty well at great value in Prague however this place is the best. y wife and I order the pork roast and chicken wings with fries and dumplings as well as a sprite and mosel beer and the grand total for the meal was 15 euro's. The food and the atmosphere here is quite lovely and it is a short walk to Charles Bridge and Old Prague square where you can visit the Prague astronomical Clock. They prepare the steak on a grill nearby the kitchen which is openly visible as you dine and gives you a unique appreciation for your dinner. They offer smoking and non-smoking dining rooms and therefore you can have your comfort while you dine. read more

This establishment came recommended from a gift store clerk at one of the museums. We inquired about a local restaurant which was reasonably priced offering local cuisine and she recommended Kozlovna Apropos. I had the roasted pork knuckle and my wife ordered the smoked duck salad and potato pancakes. The food was delicious, the wait staff was friendly and helpful. The gentleman who settled the bill and was waiting on a party of 23 from China amazed us in that he spoke 9 different languages. We would make this place a hangout if we lived here. A fantastic discovery. It is near the Charles bridge. Great menu with many choices. The ambiance and service exceeded expectations. We shared multiple dishes and side orders, truly worth your time and investment. It has many tables, and 2 floors. Grilling was done near tables and bar area. We came to this spot twice during our four days in Prague - we liked it that much! :) The guys who work there are so nice, fun and we had a great time talking to them during our two trips there. The food is delicious and the portions are big! The beer is perfection and they have other selections like ciders, prosecco, wine, etc. My husband had the pork knuckle and loved it. I had the chicken (schnitzel style) with mashed potatoes and it was delicious! This is right near the Charles Bridge and the 4 Seasons, so it's easy to get to.
