    View from the outdoor seating

This was the best Czech food we've had in Prague, so good that we booked for dinner on the same day immediately after finishing lunch. Not exactly traditionally prepared but the taste was super gourmet. The schnitzel was the best dish out of the mix and everything was good. Recommendation to make an online reservation because they will be busy. If the weather is nice, opt for the outdoor seating as you'll get a great view from their patio.

Best Biergarten and view. Order at bar walk left downstairs to balcony/garden. There's really nothing more to it but I need to put in 85 characters.

Situated perfectly steps away from the castle, overlooking all of Prague, is this combination of modern and traditional that gives Czech food, especially desserts, an entirely new meaning. The room we sat in was darker than the first dining room, which I personally didn't like. I think it'd be better if the lighting was uniform throughout the restaurant, or at least not as drastic of a difference. We had an enthusiastic and helpful server, with a very unique approach to his job. He not only ensured that the dishes being ordered were gluten free or could be made gluten free, but rather than standing over us, knelt down to speak to us at eye level. The menu itself was overwhelming, with the majority of the dishes consisting of meat and dumplings. There were a few options for vegetarians, but Czech cuisine itself isn't the most vegetarian-friendly. I didn't want anything heavy, so I ended up going with the dill sauce and potatoes. It was good, although I personally prefer my mom's version. The ribs that had been recommended to us came with a side salad of unnecessarily large pieces of parsley and raw apple that didn't appear to complement the meat properly. The ribs themselves could have been cooked a little better, as they were hard to cut and didn't really fall off the bone like they should. Dessert did not disappoint, though. The dumpling was the perfect ratio of plum butter to dough, while the hot plums with tvaroh offered a satisfying bite of warm and cold that melted on my tongue. I'd recommend this place to anyone who is unfamiliar with good Czech cuisine, although as someone who has grown up with it, I wasn't the most satisfied. It's a good restaurant, but it wasn't my favorite.

You honestly can't beat the view here! You overlook all of Praha from the base of Prague Castle. Make sure you reserve a terrace table. You won't see the sunset but you will see the city bathed in the sunset. Or, we were lucky enough to see the full moon rise. Food was unexpectedly great. Usually with a view like this the food is mediocre but not here! Roast beef starter was flavorful and delicate. Duck for the hubs was crispy on Theo outside and perfectly moist on the inside. I had the smoked rabbit loin salad and honestly one of the best salads I ever had - simple and flavorful. Great combination of flavors and textures.

One of our best dinners in Prague. The food is so unique and incredible and the overall experience was fantastic. We didn't sit on the terrace because it was late and cold but inside was so nice and cozy! We got everything a la carte but the all you can eat option seemed to be a good option if you are really hungry. We got the appetizer to share and it was amazing! It was beets and cottage cheese and the flavors were spot on. For the entree, my husband got the chicken with a side of potato pancakes. It was very good and the sauce added a nice flavor. I got the vegetarian dish- egg and potato in dill sauce. It was absolutely amazing and it was better than the chicken. I would highly recommend it. For desert, we got the pumpkin dessert with actually pieces of pumpkin, pumpkin purée, breading and pumpkin seeds. It was incredible and I haven't eaten anything like it before. It was probably my favorite part of the meal. This place is awesome! And make sure to get a reservation. I think total we were $40 for two people but that is with drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert!!

Great spot with unbelievable views. Menu has many options including grill entrees . Very attentive staff, unfortunately we waited almost an hour for main course, and our snitzel was very thick and uncooked. The beef veverka was tender and juicy , just right After speaking with staff , they have replaced it quickly and removed from bill. Nice option of deserts I would recommend strawberry sorbet with mint, refreshing with mint and merengue

Excellent The Povidlovy is Amazing If you like Czech sweets - this is a must try. Also the view is epic!

It may be difficult to get a table, but it is 100% worth it. I had been eager to dine here throughout my stay in Praha last Fall. I loved the home cooked Czech food right at the base of the castle. Friendly people and a good time all around

Kuchyň in Prague has the integrity and ability to be one of the if not the finest restaurant available in the city. The view is impeccable. You will not find another restaurant with this quality of food plus view in the city. At the start of my meal, I was seated at a long table outside on the terrace. I made a reservation because there is limited seating available indoors and outdoors. You could possibly sit with other people if you have 6 or less in your party. If you decide to do the three course meal, there is an appetizer and soup that has already been pre-selected by the chef. Last night it was a chicken liver butter, minced meat served with toasted bread and radishes with a green sauce. Then, a lentil soup served with sausage. For the entree, There is NO menu at this restaurant, they present you with the food that is available to you. Which is a much more admirable presentation of the options they offer. They are vegetarian friendly, but usually only with one option available for the main dish. Most of their side items are vegetarian. This does not apply to me because I will eat anything. I chose pork with a cream based sauce, with cranberry, served with soft potato dumplings, and that was served in a 1/2 portion because I wanted to try multiple items. The next I chose was beef with a red wine sauce and potato pancakes. The dishes while delicious, I felt were missing something from the palette. The service was good, but working in a restaurant myself, I can understand when a restaurant is busy, that the service might not be as attentive. This is how I would describe my experience, although, very very good. I finished my evening with a rhubarb cheesecake (rhubarb-flavored items are extremely popular throughout Europe right now) and strawberries topped with whipped cream. Overall I will recommend this restaurant to others.

    Gave me horrific food poisoning

Gravely disappointing - pricey and gave me horrific food poisoning. Serivce leaves something to be desired. The two stars is for the fantastic view we had on the terrace. Also - they don't own heaters so if you choose to sit outside be mindful that it will be cold and your food will change from hot to cold in a matter of minutes. The idea was good but the excecution was very poor

    Alex H.

I ordered the four course digustation even though there isn't a menu. The idea is they take you to the kitchen and you select the main dish based on what looks best. It sounds like a gimmick but it works. They also let you split the dishes and come back for seconds in case you like a lot of dishes. You will so try not to fill up on the bread! Fun experience and worth revisiting!

We came at 4pm on a Thursday and they told us we could find a table with a reserved time, we just have to leave about 15 mins before the reserved time starts. We walked into the back, found a four top and the waitress immediately got a baby chair and brought menus. She said they make buttered noodles for free for kids and said she can put that in asap - total pro! We ordered the pork roll with dumplings and a side of beet salad to share - DELISH! The menu changes daily and the waitress will tell you what's good to order - do as she says - order came out in less than five minutes! The blonde beer was delicious and crisp, very drinkable. If you want some good services, vibes, and classic beer and food- this is the place.

If you are looking for a very lively place that seats about thirteen hundred guests per day and has twelve tanks of beer, and the beer hall vibe then this spot is most certainly for you. Close to the Old Town square it is not at all touristy, the service is good and the prices are very fair for what you get. K ordered the Goulash, and I had the Chicken Schnitzel along with a beetroot salad to share. The food was plentiful and very good, especially the goulash gravy which was a deep colour that had amazing flavour. The schnitzel was not as big as the plate, but I couldn't finish it. K had a glass of wine and I a beer for about $64 CDN, which is good in Prague. Our only quibble was that the beetroot salad turned into a cabbage salad with horseradish. It was also good, but not what we ordered. We would most certainly come back and endure the half hour wait to experience and enjoy what is a somewhat unique European offering.
