So glad my husband found St. Martin. We arrived right at 12 p.m. when they opened, and it got packed really fast - several big groups came in right after we were seated. I ordered the kimchi burger, while my husband had the duck. The duck was tender, and the sauce had a bit of an Asian influence, almost like oyster sauce with other flavors mixed in. My pulled pork was tender and flavorful, not too salty, and the portion was actually pretty big. I couldn't finish it, so my husband had to help me. I forgot to take a picture of their blueberry lemonade, but it was really good. One thing to note: the table space is a little tight. If you prefer a more comfortable dining experience, I'd recommend asking to sit in the room with the bar/kitchen rather than the area closer to the outside, which is where we sat today and felt a bit cramped. We went to St. Martin for dinner at the recommendation of my brother-in-law, who had eaten there on his last trip to Prague and raved about it. The cafe is located in the diplomatic district of Prague. The food and service were both good, although I would recommend St. Martin more as a place for a leisurely lunch, rather than dinner. It had more of the feel of a lunch counter than a cozy spot for dinner, and there were multiple people eating alone and reading at the small tables. The menu is somewhat limited and was not the traditional Czech food we were expecting. Still, everything we had (fried cheese and chips, flank steak, duck, and Beef Bourguignon) was tasty and well made. We skipped dessert in favor of a walk and a chimney cake. This was super close to our hotel, and we came here upon recommendation. It was a very quaint and cute restaurant, with delicious wine and upscale food. The service was a bit slow, but perfect for those trying to enjoy their meal. We had the special of the night- asparagus salad to share for appetizer. This was delicious with a poached egg. After walking our toes off or what it felt like touring part of the city, we stumbled upon this hidden little gem! Wasn't until later we found out that this is on some food tours and I have no doubt as to why. Where do I start with this place ..... I am still at the restaurant and I don't want to leave, I feel like giving a huge to the chef. We came here after a long hike up to the Petrin view point up the hill, we were starving. The first question we asked the staff was if the accept credit cards , they said YES, which is a big plus, especially for tourists( they don't take Amex FYI ). I ordered the beer ( kozel dark ) , it was amazing, perfect balance and gives you a good buzz ( one more reason why I am still sitting here :) ). As we arrived in Prague, the weather turned cold and rainy, so we decided not to venture too far away from the hotel for dinner. St. Martin was located less than a block from our hotel and highly recommended by the staff. The interior of St. Martin is warm, cozy and inviting, with jazz music posters all around. The dining room is basic, yet well appointed and comfortable. Great place to get in out of the weather. Because of the chilly temperatures, we opted for a selection of comfort food to stave off the lingering effects of jet lag. We both started with the soup-of-the-day, which happened to be warm, creamy tomato soup service in a glass container with crispy bread sticks. For our entree, we again selected the same daily special, Beef Bourguignon. It was rich, thick and well seasoned. Paired with a glass of Cabernet and a Scotch, it was the perfect meal for our first evening in Prague. We could definitely see ourselves becoming regulars if we lived close by. read more

Stumbled on this restaurant near our hotel in Mala Strana --what a gem. Doesn't look like much from the outside and the main room isn't fancy but there is a lovely garden dining area in back. Menu is casual tending French (although the staff are all Czech). Portions are very ample; I couldn't finish my grilled duck breast in wine sauce with roasted baby potatoes it was so much food. Food: Soup of the day- tomato with a creamy dollop of ricotta, perfect for a cold day and presentation was adorable in a little jar. Duck- great presentation with a tangy and sweet orange sauce and gnocchi. A tasty and modern play on duck a l'orange. Pork- an Asian twist, came with kimchi and "bun" puffs tucked between the pork belly. So refreshing to have some spice and kick to a meal after many nights of barely seasoned food! Overall: would highly recommend, such a quaint little spot! We got lucky and snagged a table before the lunch rush, but I recommend coming right when they open to get a seat- particularly of a large group. My mum, sister and I had dinner here and were very impressed! The food was amazing. We had all 3 salads and I will say the beetroot salad was the best with the goat cheese grilled perfectly. Rosé, olive tapenade, zucchini pie and the beef all delicious!! The atmosphere is wonderful; we ate outside in the courtyard. The service was good as well. It's a little tucked away from the busyness of Prague but it's a nice and interesting little place, with a neat / clean interior and some Americana on the walls and jazz heard in the surroundings. It is a little chopped up on the inside with three different seating areas. We had the beetroot salad and the grilled duck breast and finished with the chocolate fondant / raspberry sorbet. The salad was very good and the duck was amazing - nice crispy grilled filets with a great citrusy sauce and covered some tasty gnocchi balls.
