    Some rabbit dish
    Patricia Abigail H.

This place was recommended by our tour guide for their cheap draft beer and good food but as we're not beer people we still went for the good food I had the rabbit dish with bread dumpling and it was sooooooooo good! I definitely recommend this place if you want to try rabbit and just good food in general The restaurant is not very big and don't have much character but the food makes up for it

THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD!!! From their service to their food to the ambience!! First, the service is very fast! These guys know how to turn some tables and they do it in a manner where you don't feel rushed. I ordered the baked Brie, a Pilsner and the Svíčková (the most traditional and popular dish)! Let me just tell you... the reviews were not kidding. You could literally lick and eat the plate entirely. It is that freaking good. The Svíčková (beef in creamy sauce) was perfectly prepared and didn't feel very heavy to me, although, out of the four dumplings I only ate one. The brie came out really warm and just melted on the bread (which was the perfect pairing). Now let me just tell you.. I am not a cranberry girl but this one I surprisingly loved. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants an authentic vibe that's in old town! You will leave so happy and full!

I had high expectations for this restaurant and it almost delivered. Almost. You need to try for a reservation before arriving because otherwise you'll be waiting a bit. Only a few tables are open walk in people. Once you are seated, service is prompt and efficient. The food was mostly okay. The dumplings were pretty bland, the roasted pork was a little dry, but the sauces were very good. Even the simple onion soup was delightful. So stick to the moist dishes. You're likely to find live music in the hall if you arrive around dinner time. Prices are reasonable, but maybe a little high given the quality of the cook. Still, it's probably return to try something new.

Excellent food and great prices considering the location. They have daily specials and a regular menu published in several languages. I had the duck with cabbage and potato dumplings and it was outstanding. Highly recommend this place!

Delicious restaurant in Prague! It is super popular so there may be a wait but tables open up quick. For two, we shared the traditional onion soup with cheese, fried pork schnitzel with boiled potatoes and pickles, and the traditional beef in creamy sauce with bread dumplings. Czech food is definitely on the heavier side- everything was delicious and was very comforting during the winter. I got a non-alcoholic Pomelo-grapefruit drink (non-alcoholic) which was so refreshing!

Beer is the cheapest drink on the menu!

Outstanding old world fare served up by friendly staff. As an added bonus, Czech beer is the cheapest drink on the menu!

    Rabbit and rabbit food.

In our pre-trip research on Czech food, we discovered that duck and rabbit were very popular, and were lookin forward to it. We got duck the first night, but had no luck finding rabbit...until we walked into this place (and we wouldn't have, but the other Yelp rated restaurant was closed for remodeling). Czech food is multiple variations on "meat-in-sauce-over-dumplings." We enjoyed the rabbit: very tender and tasty. Beer, as usual, was good albeit hoppy (that's more or less the standard).

Close to the Jewish quarter and old Prague. This is near the tourist spots but has a much more authentic flair and has solid food and drink. Inside is a cozy Czech interior adorned with photos. The staff isn't friendly but is no nonsense and willing to help. They are fast and attentive. The beer is cold and tasty. The food is homey and comforting and well prepared. The onion soup is a must try. And the rabbit surprised me. Not too salty...could use a bit of pepper. But it was tender and flavorful, the spinach a and dumpling were nice too. Also just nice to have something green on the plate. Give it a try!

I wish I loved this place like others, but it started out all wrong and it just made the experience not as enjoyable as I would hope. I wanted to this some Czech food so I had this place and another in mind. We opted for U Parlamentu. When we went in, they said we had to wait 10 mins. But just going in, it felt very unwelcoming. I don't know whether its because we weren't from Prague or that we were Asians, but it felt like they didn't want to help us and it took A LONG time to get a table. It was definitely more than 10 mins and I kept staring at the waiters to see if we would get their attention to remember that we were still waiting. After what felt like forever, we got a table. We got our menus from our not so happy waiter. I wanted to try the pork knuckle, so we got that and also a large salad. We also decided to try the beer because its cheap and they are known for it too. The pork knuckle is definitely something to share with someone because it's a hefty dish for one. It comes with mustard and pickles which helps with the heaviness of the dish. We thought the skin was going to be crispy but I couldn't even chew through it even if I tried. The meat itself was very tender and falls off easily. It doesn't come very seasoned but its definitely reminiscent of pulled pork. As for the salad, the large wasn't as big as i thought. Maybe in the US, if its a big, it's definitely big, but I can definitely eat the whole thing myself and not have an issue of feeling full. It wasn't anything special honestly, but because we it's so hard to find greens in Prague, we just wanted something light with our meal. As for the beer, it wasn't anything special. I think the dark beer tasted better, but I am personally not a beer lover, so this definitely didn't change my opinion. If you love beer, Prague has a lot of cheap beer, so you can drink to your heart's content. While we were eating, we had 2 grandpas seated at the same table. I noticed they would look at us from time to time. One of them eventually asked if we were Korean. I said no, we are from the US. The grandpa told the other grandpa and they talked amongst themselves. I couldn't understand but they seemed quite intoxicated. They finally left at some point but one of the grandpas doesn't seem to believe that we were not Korean haha. But regardless, the meal was ok. I would say that they guy at the bar was nicer compared to the waiters. When we were leaving, he at least thanked us for coming. Overall, I probably wouldn't want to come back again since none of the food wowed me, but at least i could say that I tried real Czech food.

    Svickova

Favorite restaurant in the Czech Republic. U Parlamentu specializes in traditional Czech cuisine. The food here is immensely rich. You can pretty much go into hibernation once you're done because you've accumulated enough fat for the winter. Would still come back and do it all over again. Try to make reservations. We came here around 5 pm and had to wait almost half an hour for a table to clear. Svickova - Marinated beef in a creamy vegetable sauce with bread dumplings. Everyone before me has already mentioned it, and I can only reiterate that it's worth a try. The bread dumplings were perfect to soak up the gravy on the plate. Pork Knuckle - We tried pork knuckle in 4 different restaurants across central Europe, but this one was our favorite. The knuckle was mammoth and cooked so that the skin was crispy but the meat was fall apart tender. The extra pairing of horseradish and pickled vegetables gave a nice tart break to the roasted meat. Roasted rabbit - I'm not a stranger to rabbit, and this dish cooked the meat very well (it just tastes like lean chicken). Once more, the gravy around the plate was perfect to pair with the bread dumplings. The spinach was also a welcome bread from all of the meat and carbs during this dinner. Roasted pork - Similar preparation as the rabbit and svickova. The pork was very tender and juicy. Service was fast and prices were well worth-it, if not a bargain for the quality and amount of food we got. Beers were also great!

Goulash and dumpling. Ask for extra gravy and they will bring it.

The food is heavy. I mean HEAVY. You will want to unbutton your pants and take a nap afterwards. There is a dish called SVICKOVA and this is THE local dish. When you come to Chicago you would get a deep dish pizza (stupidly) or a Chicago style hot dog. When you come here you get this dish. SVICKOVA.Everybody claims to have the best SVICKOVA . Everybody's mother has their own SVICKOVA recipe. This is what Czechoslovakians eat in their own homes. They argue about whose is superior. This place serves it as close to what a mama in Czechoslovakia would make for her lil'bambino. This is THE place favored by locals. I can't quite figure out the Czechoslovakians. They seem rather stiffnecked and humorless at first.Perhaps not friendly in an American way.. Stoic. And yet once you lean in a little bit they actually are very helpful and friendly. They try to accommodate. My first reaction to the guys working at this place was that they were rather unflappable and w/ not much personality. I was wrong.By the end of my experience they were fantastic. They seem very proud of Prague and anxious to tell us other places that we should eat and experience. I left my phone there and hours later returned to them cheering that I had returned. Thanks guys! Really good people. Don't let your first reaction as an American sway you. Different but great. And get the SVICKOVA!

Not a fan of this beer and blue cheese combo but the presentation was awesome

Awesome beer and such a fabulous location. Very close to the Charles bridge! Was hesitant to come here since it's so close to the touristy areas but so glad we did. Not only is this place packed with tourists but there were plenty of locals as well. Never had to wait for a table (yes we came here twice) and the beer kept coming as soon as our glasses were empty. Their cheese marinated in spices is delicious. As well as their pate. Great spot to grab a drink and snack and rest your feet. Clean bathrooms too!

We came at 4pm on a Thursday and they told us we could find a table with a reserved time, we just have to leave about 15 mins before the reserved time starts. We walked into the back, found a four top and the waitress immediately got a baby chair and brought menus. She said they make buttered noodles for free for kids and said she can put that in asap - total pro! We ordered the pork roll with dumplings and a side of beet salad to share - DELISH! The menu changes daily and the waitress will tell you what's good to order - do as she says - order came out in less than five minutes! The blonde beer was delicious and crisp, very drinkable. If you want some good services, vibes, and classic beer and food- this is the place.

If you are looking for a very lively place that seats about thirteen hundred guests per day and has twelve tanks of beer, and the beer hall vibe then this spot is most certainly for you. Close to the Old Town square it is not at all touristy, the service is good and the prices are very fair for what you get. K ordered the Goulash, and I had the Chicken Schnitzel along with a beetroot salad to share. The food was plentiful and very good, especially the goulash gravy which was a deep colour that had amazing flavour. The schnitzel was not as big as the plate, but I couldn't finish it. K had a glass of wine and I a beer for about $64 CDN, which is good in Prague. Our only quibble was that the beetroot salad turned into a cabbage salad with horseradish. It was also good, but not what we ordered. We would most certainly come back and endure the half hour wait to experience and enjoy what is a somewhat unique European offering.
