    GOOSE LIVER PÂTÉ
    Helen H.

We walked past quite a few tables and a flight of stairs to our table. We sat in a wine cellar that was repurposed into a dining area. There wasn't anything on the menu I really wanted to try. I decided to go with two appetizers. The first was the goose liver pate. I didn't like the red wine jelly layer. The sourdough bread was also too dense. The other appetizer was the wild mushroom on butter. The mushrooms were quite salty, but I liked the deep fried egg. I'm glad I wasn't too hungry to start with.

More of a 3.5 star. Convenient spot that served traditional dishes like Beef Goulash. Their Gnocci was also pretty filling. Overall, it was okay if you need something in the area but it didn't stand out to me enough to say I'd return. Crowd can be a bit rowdy depending on your luck. 1-2 big groups were there and acted a bit drunk. It was nice staff were aware and at least tried to assure us they would be leaving soon.

Great traditional Czech food right next to the Old Town Square. Traditional Beef Goulash (355 CZK)- This classic Czech dish was quite tasty with tender pieces of beef in sauce to go with soft potato "dumplings" (although they're more like soft potato logs). Somehow they got the potato to be particularly creamy and moist, almost like a bread kind of consistency. The price is reasonable considering the touristy location, although the portion size was on the smaller side. Environment: The interior is pretty large with a homey traditional kind of vibe. There is a bar area and also some outdoor seating as well. It wasn't that busy when I went for dinner and there was a casual atmosphere. Service: The staff are friendly and attentive. The service speed was super fast. My only complaint is that I asked for a raspberry nectar to drink but they ended up bringing me a cherry nectar instead (I ended up just drinking the cherry one and it was fine). Overall, Restaurace Mincovna is a great and continently located restaurant for traditional Czech cuisine - highly recommend.

The location of this restaurant is perfect! The service was incredible, from the time I walked in the door. I loved the dish I selected and the icing on the cake was their homemade lemonade. I will definitely be back. My server Petar was attentive, kind, and helpful!

I visited Prague for 3 nights in July of 2024 and wanted to eat at a couple of good restaurants. I picked this one (other than Cafe Imperial) based on web reviews and was not disappointed. I walked in without an appointment, but found a seat right away. I ordered the fresh river trout fillets, cream spinach, and pear juice. The food (and drink) came pretty quickly and was very tasty and plentiful. The service was great too. And I liked the ambiance. Overall, it was a very good dinner for about $40 USD. I would happily go there again if I visit Prague in future.

Great restaurant, excellent menu and food, superb service from Peter from Monrovia, and the whole staff. Food was very good, varied menu, good specials,Bice ambiance.

Came here around 5:30 pm and the host was able to get me seated right away as a walk-in with no reservation. I ordered the traditional pork knee that comes on top of mash potatoes and a sweet gravy with a side of roasted onions. The reviews said it can feed two but I was able to finish it myself (haha). It was THAT good! Despite not being a beer drinker, I ordered the famous Pilsner Urquell and honestly it was such a light beer that I didn't mind it! Which says a lot about the beer! I can barely sip on one back home! After dinner, I was recommended to try the pear brandy (forgot the name, I'm sorry) but it's the only Czech one on the menu. My goodness.. when I tell you that was one of the best liqueurs I've ever tasted,, believe me. Wow! Overall, very lovely dining experience and I definitely recommend this place!

Formerly the mint, the décor of this place is super cool. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We had goulash, sausages, stewed beef, and duck. The duck was pure perfection and I would strongly encourage you to order it. The sausage was also excellent. The stewed beef and goulash were pretty good but paled in comparison. Also... definitely order the iced mint tea. It was amazing.

The food here is decent, but unfortunately I've realized that I'm just not that big of a fan of czech food. Goose liver pate and duck rilette was good, but the bread that it came with was extremely dense and didnt go that well with the appetizers. Beef goulash was exactly how I'd expect it to taste. Slightly on the heavier side for a meal. Topped it off with a salad which helped to balance out the entire meal. Pretty decent spot to try traditional czech food, but unfortunately just not my favorite.

Well my friends, this place has made the best duck leg ever, rich in flavor, potato-pasta (gnocchi )and a delicious duck sauce. Chicken over mashed- peas .. the goose pate .. was a real wow! What an experience. Our new friend Patar was our server and he provided a friendly and exclusive service. The ambience was as good as this city...., Prague . Recommended!!!

Good Czech restaurant near the central square. It's wasn't as crowded so the service was good and it was nice inside. Had some traditional Czech food with salad and beer. It's a good choice for the part of the city.

Don't let the wait for a table discourage you, even with a reservation. This place is huge and worth the small wait. After a couple days of heavier Czech food, we were delighted with the salad with goat cheese, cucumber salad, and the fried cheese with cranberry and spinach. The traditional fare being served at nearby tables looked very good as well. The decor and modern interior added to our great experience here.

So lucky to be admitted to this popular local restaurant for lunch without a reservation! Our server was super friendly and happy! Amazing Czech food and great brewery decor inside! We ordered fish soup, beef goulash, duck confit and two beers!! The most wonderful fish soup and duck confit that I've had. Goulash is good as well but is not as outstanding as the other two. We tried to come back here for dinner without a reservation but were turned away. Please make reservations ahead if you don't want to miss this place!

If you are looking for a very lively place that seats about thirteen hundred guests per day and has twelve tanks of beer, and the beer hall vibe then this spot is most certainly for you. Close to the Old Town square it is not at all touristy, the service is good and the prices are very fair for what you get. K ordered the Goulash, and I had the Chicken Schnitzel along with a beetroot salad to share. The food was plentiful and very good, especially the goulash gravy which was a deep colour that had amazing flavour. The schnitzel was not as big as the plate, but I couldn't finish it. K had a glass of wine and I a beer for about $64 CDN, which is good in Prague. Our only quibble was that the beetroot salad turned into a cabbage salad with horseradish. It was also good, but not what we ordered. We would most certainly come back and endure the half hour wait to experience and enjoy what is a somewhat unique European offering.

It has a cafeteria look and feel to it as the space is long and slender with wooden tables lining the one side and a few tables lining the other. It is devoid of color and sparsely decorated so it adds to this depressing feeling. Our server was ambivalent toward us and didn't visit us after we got our food. We had to watch for him to run by to stop him for our bill. This didn't give very welcoming vibes. The food was not exceptional. It was good and filling but I could not wrap my head around what everyone raved about. Perhaps we went in with too high of expectations but I've checked it off the list and will opt for other places to try in the future.
