This place is tucked away so if every other breakfast spot has a line, you'll probably get a seat here. They have breakfast and lunch, as well as gelato. We got Cuban and the chicken avo sandwiches. Upper average and did the job. Note: the toilet does not have a toilet seat!!!

We stayed at the awful Sandy Beach Hotel that's over the top of this place. Turns out, this was the only good thing! We came down for breakfast because it was convenient and probably the cheapest in the area. People staying at the hotel get 10% off too. We had the waffles and the eggs on a basket. Both were flavorful and something we'd get again. We had very smooth americanos with them.

This is my first time visiting the wonderful island of Puerto Rico so I'm slowly but surely finding the best restaurants by trial and error. I found this cute, cozy and beach view eatery on google and gave it a try. Omg ! It's absolutely wonderful!!!! The food is amazingly delicious and you can't beat the view of the beach. The staff is friendly and very accommodating.....makes you feel right at home. Sorry but I took a pic of my half eaten sandwich lol but the other food pic is from my niece. And last but not least ....the prices are very reasonable. You have to come....eat, relax and enjoy. Oh...I have to say...this place is better than Pannes!

Piu Bello on Condado Avenue in San Juan is a great place to go for breakfast, sandwiches, and drinks by the beach. I like the atmosphere and location here with a view of everything. The food was delicious and well prepared. The staff here is very friendly and willing to help when you need it.

This review is for the Espresso Café, the sausage, fried egg, and cheese on Mallorca Puerto Rican Sweet Bread together as a sandwich (which we asked to be created instead of receiving separately on a plate for breakfast) and the chicken bacon pesto spinach wrap. One word, "SOGOOD!" Okay that's two words but the way I say it, it's all-in-one! I wanted to try other menu items but we came here for breakfast daily and the sweet bread and espresso were calling my name, they were both delicious, I fell in love instantly! We stayed at the San Juan Marriott Stellaris & Casino which is conveniently located adjacent from Piu Bello, a quick 3 minute walk from the parking lot elevator. This location is also adjacent to the beach. If you choose to eat there, you will have a nice view of the beach and ocean waves, it's just lovely. The patio does have shade cover but depending on the time of day, it's best to wear a hat and sunglasses because the sun is like pure punishment. From the second you arrive, Piu Bello's staff greets you. They were all friendly, outgoing and eager to accommodate us. Sweet girls, I thought they were the cutest and they spoke both English and Spanish very well. There was music in the background, the patio, tables and chairs were clean, it's a very casual setting. I rate their food 4 stars and their service 5 stars, would definitely go back when in San Juan. If you're ever in the area, stop in and enjoy.

Simple, nothing to write home about. But this is a nice little hole in the wall where you can enjoy a small snack and nice ocean breeze as you walk down the beach or Ashford Ave. They offer a small beer selection as well as a full menu. We were just looking for a light snack. So we opted for the tostones rellenos de camaron (stuffed fried plantains with shrimp) and the beef empanada. The tostones rellenos were good but the shrimp was a bit salty and garnished with peppers. The actual tostones were pretty good but I wasn't feeling the peppers, nothing a little mayo-ketchup couldn't fix! Definitely make sure to ask for this sauce at least once when you're visiting PR. This is a pink sauce which is a mix of, you guessed it, mayonnaise and ketchup. It goes very well with tostones and almost anything fried- don't miss it!

Came here with family as a recommendation for breakfast. Ordered the ham, cheese and egg sandwich. It came to our table very cold. Looked like they just threw the ingredients on the bread and on the plate. Very disappointing. They didn't even try to make it presentable. Will not be returning.

Great place to eat good breakfast by the beach! It feels very Caribbean like. Food is like home cooked and delicious.

    Try more than one empanadas.

We couldn't have stumbled onto a better spot. This cafe is small in size but large in flavor. We loved sitting with an ocean view during lunch. We had two types of empanadas and two types of tostones. Both delicious. We split a cubano and so far, we found it to be the best of several Cuban sandwiches we've had here. As with just about everywhere in Puerto Rico, the staff was friendly and helpful. Wonderful spot!

Great spot with a beach view and authentic PR breads! Yum!

We arrived at 11am on a Monday because that's when we thought they opened. They actually opened at 11:30am, so we were 2nd in line at 11am. Once 11:30am rolled around, the line was very long. It's an old house that was transformed into a restaurant. It's pretty big in there and they have an upstairs as well. It really feels like you're eating in a Caribbean home, from the colorful tablecloth to the things on the tables. The menu is on a board, and they have a Spanish and English version. They give you a cup of complimentary plantain soup which was amazing. We also ordered the fried cheese app which came with a delicious guava sauce. For mains, I had the fried pork with tostones and my husband had the mamposteado (corned beef, fried eggs, and rice). My husband cleaned his plate, while I took leftovers back to the hotel (which we actually ate later because it was that good). They were out of tres leches that day, so we had the coconut pudding for dessert. It was my first time trying coconut pudding and it did not disappoint! For drinks, we had the passionfruit sangria. When we left, there was a very long line outside. Despite the line, they did not rush us out. Definitely recommend and would go out of my way to come back next time I'm in PR.

There are so many spots that are authentic and incredible, but La Casita Blanca stands out in its own lane. It's gotten more popular and touristy over the years, but that's because they've stayed true to who they are. The authenticity here hasn't changed, and that's exactly why people keep coming. This is the kind of place where the menu brings you right back to your upbringing. You'll find dishes like corned beef, tostones con bacalao, and other classics that just hit differently. And the vibe? It feels like family. Someone who looks like your aunt might be cooking your food, your cousin might be serving it, and everyone treats you like you belong there. Food-wise, everything we had was fire. One of the people I was with is basically an "aguacateologist," and even he said it was one of the best he's ever had. That alone says a lot. Chuletas fried to a perfect golden crisp. The pollo fricasé (pollo guisado, if you know, you know) was on point and even came in a little pot that made it feel extra homey. Arroz con gandules? Off the hook!!!! And to top it all off, they had salsa playing in the background... which honestly had me sold the moment I walked in. Disclaimer/Warning; There will be a line!!! And if you're lucky enough to get a table, sit back and enjoy every second of it.

The inside looks like a cafeteria but it stays busy. We were seated quickly although it seemed packed. They have a good amount of menu options and cross out what isn't available. They also have drink options that our server listed to us. To start, we ordered the lobster empanadas and sangria. The empanadas were delicious! Very tasty and fresh. The sangria however, was not great. It just tasted like juices that don't really work together. I couldn't taste the wine. We ordered the roasted pork and skirt steak. The steak was really tasty, and juicy. But the roasted pork was very dried and hard. It had some good bits in it but there were quite a few pieces that were too cooked to eat. The rice and beans were cooked very well. This is the perfect place for quick local food where you won't spend too much. But if you want a very high quality, I would choose elsewhere.

My son had the churrasco (skirt steak) and it was excellent. We ordered sides of amarillos (sweet plantains) and they were the best ones we had the trip -- soft, juicy, with caramelized exterior. We wanted tres leches for dessert, but it sold was sold out. If you only had one "typical" PR dinner, I would suggest Bebo's.

Out of all the restaurants I visited in Puerto Rico, my friends and I came to the agreement that this was definitely the best one, and I can't believe we almost didn't come! I may be biased because one of them complimented my "gracias" (lol) but they were accommodating and patient as we had a hard time deciding what we wanted to order, since everything looked so good! The pinchos de atun was a must-try since everyone online was talking about that dish in particular, and it was AMAZING. The tuna is so fresh and complimented so well by the sauce and the rice cracker. The ceasar salad was flavorful and a great addition, since we didn't have much veggies at that point in our trip. And the sea bass!! SO tender and delicious. We also got the perfect lady cocktail and the guava & cheese bread pudding, and both were perfectly sweet and balanced out the rest of the meal. Everything about this place was amazing. The inside of the restaurant is very pretty and it's located near La Placita, so easily accessible to the nightlife if you want to party afterward.
