The Negroni AM + orange juice mimosa
    Esther P.

What a cool spot! I wish we would have gone when they had a magic show because that would have taken it over the top. I had a mimosa and tried some of my husbands Negroni and they were both poured super well. Sometimes with spots you fear paying a certain price and it being under poured but you don't have to worry about that here. I can't remember our servers name but she was attentive and quick. The sampler plate was great with really tasty eggs and the French toast was yummy. The restaurant itself has such a magic vibe, they have a stage with odd but magical decor! I feel like Houdini himself would give this place his stamp of approval.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon--it was a bit busy, but we were seated in under 5 minutes, so no complaints there! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The only small downside was the wait--our food took about 20 minutes to come out. I ordered the breakfast sampler, and my husband went with the croque monsieur. The sampler was simple and classic--eggs, bacon, and French toast--you really can't go wrong. But the star was definitely the croque monsieur with that creamy white sauce on top... so good! A cozy little spot that's worth checking out for a tasty brunch.

While visiting Puerto Rico, we decided to try out Abracadabra. This restaurant was highly rated on yelp and our tour guide recommended it as well, so this was sort of a win-win for me. Entering into the restaurant was great! We were greeted and sat quickly. The decor was awesome (little bunnies painted on the artwork, tables with globes on it which is also the sugar tin) and our waiter humored me and conversed with me in spanish and my dad in english. We ordered mocha lattes and water to start. My experience in the states with mochas are very hit or miss. Here, they are definitely a HIT! Not too sweet, not too hot, but really just right. I ordered a classic breakfast with french toast for my meal- I wasn't sure what to get so our waiter helped me decide. Par for the course in Puerto Rico, our food did take a while to receive. I do love that you can see everything happening in the kitchen- these are my favorite types of restaurants to eat at. The food came out and tasted amazing. There was nothing special about the food however, it was a size-able portion and just well made.

Probably one of the best brunch spots in San Juan. Besides the food being delicious, I enjoyed the decorations as well and the fact they are pet friendly ; and of course, pricing was good, too Perfect for anyone looking to start their Sunday on the right foot

Very nice place, super nice people, and the food amazing tasted homemade thought my dad was on the grill burger and fries would get again and the pancakes were good too, agua fresca de tamarindo was pretty good as well

Amazing ambiance. Friendly staff. Really good brunch options. Full liquor and coffee bar. Honestly a solid brunch spot in SJ.

Yes, Gluten Free! Very cute decor inside. No outside seating. I recommend trying to lavender mimosa. It is delicious.! They also do you have a gluten-free pancakes. Made out of almond flour.

Went for brunch while on vacation in San Juan and it did not disappoint! Cute decor, great staff, and delicious food all for a reasonable price. Mimosas were tasty, coffee was delicious and the sandwiches were divine!

We sat down for dinner at 7:45 and did not receive our drinks until 8:20, even though we put in our order as soon as we sat down... and asked politely how much longer until our drinks would come out... twice. Food did not come out for an hour and half, it was cold by the time we got it. Mac and cheese is not great cold. The ribs are extremely overcooked and like eating beef jerky. Drinks were okay, but by the time we got them everyone's cocktails were watered down, as well as the soft drinks. The ambiance was not great either since everyone around us was visibly frustrated by the wait times and lack of service, a table across flagged the waitress multiple times to ask where their stuff was. The food was decent, but again, cold. The wait times were no joke. We wrapped up our 7:45 dinner around 10, simply because of how long it took to be served. Our waitress came to our table maybe 3 times total, we would have to stand and find her to figure out where our food/drinks were. They were also out of a good majority of items on the menu when we tried to order them. Overall I unfortunately don't recommend! Price, service, and food are not great.

This local family-owned restaurant was a hit with our entire group of four. I ordered the Super Bowl Scramble, and wow, was it delicious. My friend ordered the Power Omelette, her husband had the Famous French Toast, and my husband chose the Ashford Special. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and was impressed with both the quality and the generous portions. I also had a fresh-squeezed orange juice, and it was absolutely delicious--fresh, sweet, and the perfect complement to breakfast. The portions are large, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We left full, happy, and glad we stopped in. Everything we ordered was very good, and on an extremely hot day, I was especially appreciative of how well the A/C was keeping up. I was actually a little cold--and I'm never cold. It felt so nice after getting overheated right before we got there. One thing I noticed while wandering around Old San Juan is that some restaurants likely survive on location and foot traffic alone, while others earn people seeking them out. Semilla definitely felt like the latter. It's tucked just around the corner from some of the busiest pedestrian areas, so it felt like we escaped the crowds for a little while without actually going very far. Overall, I'd happily come back. If you're staying nearby and looking for a good meal without being surrounded by the busiest tourist crowds, Semilla is well worth checking out.
