We stopped in for breakfast after being dropped off nearby from the hotel shuttle. We were seated quickly in a lovely, cozy, exposed brick with stone archways, area. I started with a hot latte. It was delicious. Creamy milk and nice coffee flavor. For breakfast, I chose the traditional French toast which came with fruit and a huge dollop of whipped cream and maple syrup on the side. I scooted the whipped cream to the side but enjoyed the cinnamon flavored egg bread with fresh fruit. We asked our server about interesting places to visit while we walked around San Juan. She was fabulous. Really went over and above to give us walking ideas, get our food to us, and make our visit feel so welcoming. We loved this place.
We had limited options but we're glad to find them open on Easter Sunday! Service was quick and friendly. The Mallorca sandwich was made perfectly to my liking. Portions were large. Staff was knowledgeable and quick to share a bit about the island as well. The aesthetic was very cute. My only down side was the water was cucumber mint which didn't do it for me. Definitely with a stop in!
The Kaffe Haus is fantastic! From the modern, hip vibe to the delicious coffee to the excellent service - I have nothing but praise for our experience. The Kaffe House atmosphere is one where you can linger and not be rushed. Gerardo was our waiter and he was informative, friendly, and made great recommendations. I love the decor, the food, and atmosphere- definitely a highlight of our time in Old San Juan.
There are so many places to eat in Viejo San Juan but Kaffe Haus is an absolute cannot be missed, must visit breakfast spot. Have you ever thought to put oregano in your waffle? Probably not but I'm so glad I tried the waffle and pork belly dish because it was genuinely one of the most unique and delicious things I've ever tried. The waffle and pork belly were topped with guava maple syrup and the sweet balanced the savory perfectly. The drinks were unreal too. My coconut latte was so delicious and they made it half sweet for me. I loved that the whip cream on top was likely cool whip so it didn't hurt my stomach. So delicious, such a good vibe, and the service was amazing too!!
We did brunch at Kaffe Haus for my mom's birthday and she had a great time! The food was good and the food portions are pretty big so you'll definitely be getting your money's worth. All the staff members we interacted with were nice and friendly. I would definitely come back to eat next time I'm in PR!
Came here for breakfast--it was super busy, probably because it's one of the few sit-down spots with a full menu in the area. The space is bright with plenty of seating, and we were seated right away, but service was very slow. It took a while to get water, coffee, and our food (over 30 minutes), with no updates or apologies. The coffee and food were both good but a bit overpriced. They were also out of hot sauce and some condiments. Overall, a decent but pricey spot, even without alcohol (known for mimosas)
Stellar service and coffee with a delicious breakfast to start a full day of walking around Old San Juan. The vibes were great at Kaffe Haus, which also had a good sound level. We enjoyed the Chocolate Tempation, Vanilla Temptation, Veggies Eggs Benedict, and French Toast Montecristo -- and would order everything again. We'll be back!
I would say this place is decent overall. The empanadas were definitely the highlight--crispy on the outside with a flavorful, well-seasoned filling. The queso frito was just okay; it arrived a bit cold in the center and lacked flavor. The chicken sandwich was good, though not particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the lobster roll was disappointing--it tasted like imitation meat and was quite soggy. As for the coffee, I ordered the lavender latte, but even after adding three sugar packets and extra flavor syrup, it remained overly bitter. The best was the location, the decor and the service.
Based off of our experience eating here, the service was disappointing. Our server did not introduce himself and seemed to be in an annoyed mood throughout the visit. He was not very attentive and never checked on us after we received our food or asked if everything was okay or if we needed anything. As for the food, it was overall okay, but there were some issues. The fried potatoes were a bit too salty, and the bacon was undercooked. Overall, the experience could have been much better with more attentive service and better food preparation.
We waited for 30 minutes for a table for two. Which didn't bother us honestly because they took my number down and said they would text when they were ready for us so we just walked around and explored until they texted us. Our waitress was super friendly. She recommended the spinach and cream cheese empanadillas and they were amazing even my husband who is not a spinach fan loved them. The food did take a long time to come out but it was pretty busy. I had the Mallorca chicken sandwich. The bread has been a fave of mine since I was little. The chicken was massive and it tasted good. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich which he enjoyed. The portions are big. I had the vanilla temptation latte. I thought this place was great and will visit the next time I am in Puerto Rico
We were seeking out a cool place to take a break from the heat and enjoy a coffee. This place had an extensive menu for both food and drinks. Pictured are the Marshmallow Bliss iced coffee and the Coconut Passion iced coffee. Each were delicious. If we were hungry at the time I could definitely find us ordering food from their menu. Everything sounded so good.

I had a nice brunch here. We made a reservation and waited around 10 minutes before being seated. We were a big party of 10 people. Service was okay. We didn't get water cups until we got our meal. They also brought glasses of drinks out when we ordered a pitcher originally. But I was happy they accommodated me when I asked for my food to go since I had to catch a flight. Everyone else's food didn't come out long after. I loved my grilled chicken although a little salty. It was very juicy. Veggies and plantains tasted fresh.

If you've been to Puerto Rico, especially Old San Juan, you already know there can be a wait and food prep takes a little time--but with good company and good drinks, you barely notice. They originally told us 45 minutes because they were at MAX capacity. We put our names down and walked around to see what else was nearby, and no more than 10 minutes TOPS later,we got the text that our table was ready! Our waiter Mark was amazing and gave us great recommendations, especially the croquetas. 100% get the house ones instead of the regular jamón y queso!For brunch, I had the avocado toast with turkey, my S/O had the chicken sandwich,and both were SUPER delicious. The star for me was the jalapeño salsa verde--honestly one of the best salsa verdes I've ever had!The passion fruit mimosa pitcher was also great. One thing to know: the front seating near the door can get warm, but they have fans. If you really need A/C, the back seating is air-conditioned,so just ask if they can seat you there. The vibe, service, drinks and food checked all the boxes ,Definitely recommend! read more

This place has been recommended and highly rated, yet our experience here would not lead to us to return. We arrived for lunch on a late afternoon when the place was nearly empty. We couldn't choose amongst all the empty tables, because staff were rude and dismissive. AC wasn't working, so we felt the humidity and heat. Ceiling fans weren't cutting it. We got the $25 wagyu burger and $20 Mallorca chicken sandwich, both of which were dry, bland, and underwhelming at best. The burger patty lacked flavor and there was no sauce or any accompaniments besides a very sad, wilted, thin slice of tomato and lettuce leaf. Pretty bad burger! The chicken sandwich was so heavily fried, we almost broke our teeth against the chicken. Insanely salty--we couldn't take more than a few bites. Felt so parched for the rest of the day. Fries were the best part of the meal--so salty and thin. read more
We're starving so popped in here for brunch yesterday and it was a great time. I did not catch our server's name, but she was pretty nice. We had coffee, mimosas, pancakes, eggs, Benedict, and a create your own omelette. A great mix, and everything tasted pretty good. I liked how they use cinnamon in the pancakes to give it some flavor. The restaurant was pretty quiet. I just wish the service was a tad faster. But I would definitely return. read more

Kaffe Haus had excellent food in huge portions with attentive and friendly service. We went for brunch on a weekday and were seated immediately with water poured and additional drink orders taken. I got the brunch smash burger, which was giant and surrounded by crispy shoestring fries (my favorite variety), and my boyfriend ordered a waffle platter with sausage and eggs. We were both impressed by the amount of food we got and struggled to finish despite believing we were thoroughly famished only moments before. The coffee (black) was good, too! I'd definitely recommend Kaffee Haus. read more
Food was amazing! Wait wasn't long at all. We arrived around 10:45am on a Friday and were seated immediately. Server Mark was SUPERB! Genuinely kind and knows the meaning of great hospitality and service. Very spacious establishment with great cleanliness. As someone who works in the hospitality business I enjoyed seeing them wipe down immediately when someone left the table before anyone can sit. Kudos to the Kaffe Haus! We will definitely see them again in the future when our travels bring us back to the beautiful island of PR. read more

The service was the only good thing about this place, everything else was a disappointment! We ported and wanted to get breakfast on the island, something traditional. I was anxious to try the island coffee. There were 4 of us in the group and we all ordered different coffee beverages (lattes and straight coffee). All our drinks came out pretty but lukewarm. So the drinks were pleasing for pictures but not taste. The menu lacks variety and it is small. This is not the place to go for a taste of a traditional island breakfast. There were 2 orders of chicken and waffles with eggs. Barely warm and the waffles were overcooked. 1 order of an omelet with potatoes. The omelet was warm but the potatoes were cold. 1 order of the salmon bagel. That was fine because it is not supposed to be hot but the potatoes that came with it were cold. The lighting is very low so it is not ideal for pictures. After we walked around, we realized there were so many other options we could have chosen for breakfast so do yourself a favor and skip this place! read more

Our favorite place for breakfast/lunch/brunch in Old San Juan. Today we enjoyed the Rancheros Benedict. It's incredible with pulled pork and the most perfect poached egg I've ever eaten. In the past we've had things like the Chef's French Toast and everything is always delicious! And then there is the coffee... The barista's know what they're doing :) read more
Depending on the time of day, Kade Haus can get busy. Perfect place to try different brunch items. From chicken and waffles to egg Benedict's omelettes, they have it all. We were lucky enough to not have to wait but parties behind us did. It's located down a less busy alley but still close to the cruise ports. Service was great and fast. The Matcha coffee was my absolute favorite, if you can handle sweetness, I highly recommend. Serving portions were also a great size for the money. read more

100% recommend. Everything was perfect. They made me an Irish coffee. It tasted so fresh, the coffee was good and the cream was a perfect compliment. And it was strong. My husband's margarita was good for $10.00. The food was amazing. My husband had a braised rib Benedict. He went on and on about how good it was and his plate was clean when done! I had a grilled chicken with a side salad and plantains. These were the plantains I've been searching for since getting here! Tomorrow's our last day here, we may stop here again for breakfast! Omg my sandwich was scrumptious. It was a big serving however. It is definitely shareable. I had a caramel latte. It was so sweet and it went down smooth. It was strong, but I could have had two more. The waiter was attentive and ready to refill my glass of water. The place was pretty big so it was nice to see the open area. read more

Delicious food at a very fair price for being in a "tourist" area. Fresh fruit drinks were amazing. Good portion sizes for what you're paying so come hungry! Servers were super friendly and very attentive to needs! Very nice design inside and just really inviting with happy music playing! Would recommend a visit here. We looked for breakfast on Sunday morning and this place did not have a long wait. We waited outside because the entrance was packed. I think because of the Residencia all the spots are busy! We finally got seated and they took our drink order. Then 20 minutes went by and the bar had delivered my iced coffee but we did not have water or utensils. We attempted to get the waitress' attention- no luck. Our food came staggered and cold. Still through the long wait - no service. I noticed that the other waitress grabbed utensils from a nearby bin, went and got my own. I walked to bar and requested bottles water and if it could get charged to my table- they refused and said my waitress had to do it. I explained that we could not find her and we needed water. Returned to table and a few moments later the same bar waitress- not ours- brought the waters. Mid eating the waitress stops by to ask "if were good?" Through the meal we kept trying for her attention and she looked as she forgot about us. Very disappointing service. I understand it was a busy time but to get completely ignored was not fun. All she did was write our order , the other staff did the rest of the work. All that for the food to be fine- nothing special. Ill be sure to skip this huge restaurant next time. Plenty of others with way better service. read more
