We popped in on a rainy day and got two drinks and pretzels. What a delightful little place! I got…read morethe raspberry mocha and I have no other way to describe it than graeter's berry chocolate chip ice cream. I think we came at a kind of off time of day because the pretzels were cold and kind of hard, but they still tasted good and the dips were what we expected. I'd suggest making a trip towards the beginning of the day!

Amazing pretzels!!!…read more Super friendly and polite customer service with warm, comforting pretzels and the most amazing dips ever. In addition to being organic and vegan I also appreciate the fact that they aren't too salty like many other soft pretzels are. These pretzels also reheat well in the toaster oven which is great when you are already stuffed but want to take a pretzel to go. I especially recommend the cinnamon butter dip which has a very unique flavor. I've never had anything like it. It is reminiscent of cinnamon ice cream in texture and flavor without actually being cold or too sweet. You also don't mind using a lot of it as it is light and fluffy in mouthfeel.  They must never take the tasty cinnamon butter away!!! They also have a tasty mustard dip which is a condiment I often recommend to people as a Dietitian due to its many health benefits. As the only local pretzel place in Pittsburgh to serve both organic and vegan pretzels this is the *perfect* vendor to any local party you are having - particularly events that have the need to be vegan and/or organic as people become increasingly concerned with their health and the environment. I highly recommend contacting Connor today or ordering a pretzel from him if you see his pretzels at an event! :)

I stumbled across Mac & Gold at the Neighborhood Flea in the Strip. I knew of Mac & Gold by…read morereputation and am glad I got to visit during my final PGH hurrah. It is an easy and unequivocal rating of five stars. No doubts or hesitation. I ordered a side salad with ranch. The salad was baby greens, grape tomatoes, and some fantastic ranch. I also got one of their daily specials with asparagus, tomatoes, and spinach. The mac part is thick twisty noodles that are toothsome and satisfying. Their cheese sauce is thick, rich, and the best I've ever had. It is a smooth, well-bound consistency with no hint of the oily separation that plagues so many mac-n-cheese sauces. The asparagus was fresh, and a good balance of crisp and tender. The tomatoes were beautiful and flavorful smushed orange balls. It was a wonderful combination.

I stopped by here a couple of Thursday evenings ago with my wife for dinner. Our neighborhood had…read moresigned up a number of food trucks to come on Thursdays and this Thursday happened to be The Mac and Gold Truck. Since it's a food truck, there's not too much to say about it other than it's a nice yellow color that reminds you of cheese. For dinner on this day I decided to go with the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese while my wife went with the lobster Mac and cheese. There was maybe a 5 minute wait between ordering and our food being ready and afterwards we headed back to our house to eat. My buffalo Mac and cheese ended up being quite good as both the buffalo chicken and blue cheese added great flavor to the dish. However, as it should be, the Mac and cheese was the star. The pasta itself was cooked nicely and the cheese sauce had a great flavor to it. There was an ample amount of it too and which means that I was able to enjoy Each and every piece of pasta. My wife really enjoyed hers too and we were both pleased that the lobster wasn't exorbitantly priced. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our Mac and cheese and I would be interested in trying more of their flavors.
