I got the number 1 grilled cheese with the sour cream on the side ... and a side of spinach parmesan ball with sriracha sauce. My grilled cheese was gooey melted strands of cheese with onions and bacon ... and with the sour cream .. it was like a loaded bake potato sandwich. It has been a long time since I have happened on OMGrill. Short line and it moved fast. Didn't take to long to get my order. Had the Usual - a grilled cheese with buffalo chicken breast and jack and cheddar cheese and a side of dipping sauce. I have had my eye on Oh My Grill for a few months now and knew I had to stop by when they visited my neck of the woods, for their annual "Southside Work's Exposed" event. There were at least 6 other food trucks in the area when I visited Oh My Grill, and it was prime time for lunch - about 12:40 in the afternoon. I only had one person in line before me when I visited- which was awesome. I knew about the hype of the "Number One", but I decided to try the Italian Melt ($6) instead. My boyfriend ordered the Grilled Cuban ($8), which I was excited about- because I really wanted to try that one as well. The Italian Melt consisted of provolone, mozzarella, fontina, diced salami and pepperoncini's on white bread with a tomato soup dipper on the side. The Grilled Cuban was packed with double swiss, black forest ham, roasted turkey and dill pickles on white bread with a "Cuban mojo dipper". We waited 6 minutes, at most, which was really reasonable! Presentation wise, I think they should serve the sandwiches "open faced", in order to see the inside of the sandwiches better, but hey- that's just me. I adjusted the sandwiches for a few photographs (for yelp of course) and then dug right in. The Italian melt was awesome- cheesy and full of flavor. I loved the spice from the pepperoncini's and the tomato soup dipper was just amazing. The Grilled Cuban though... was OUT of this world. I took one bite of my boyfriend's sandwich and regretted my initial instinct of ordering it. Yes, the Italian melt was awesome- but the Grilled Cuban was OUTstanding. Had Oh My Grill tonight outside of Biddle's Escape. I ordered the spinach and artichoke, my husband ordered the italian with potato salad, and we ordered the classic for my daughter. All 3 came with a tomato soup dipper. All of the grilled cheese sandwiches were pretty good. My husband said the potato salad was just okay. I was impressed with the price. Oh My Gosh!! I LOVE Oh My Grill!! I first experienced this truck at a fundraiser and got the Wine and Cheese. I was extremely skeptical of the ham + pears, but the combination dipped in the wine reduction sauce was a party in my mouth! I could not even get enough of the flavor. I could have certainly eaten another one. Since I loved the Wine and Cheese so much, I had to track down the truck the day after! Thank goodness they were at the CLP Reading Extravaganza! The event must have been a huge success because they were out of pretty much everything including the Wine and Cheese. I was disappointed at first, but welcomed the experience to try something else! I went with the Triple Cheese. Since they were out of the Tomato Soup I got a Creamy Wing Sauce instead. Wow. The sandwiches and the sauces are so flavorful, you wouldn't expect it to come off of a food truck! I don't think the prices are unreasonable at all. I tested out Oh My Grill at the Truck or Treat event in Schenley Plaza two weekends ago. Anywhere that serves a bunch of different grilled cheese options is good by my book! The guy working in the truck was super nice, and this was one of the more reasonably priced trucks at the event. 6 Cheese Mac and Cheese ($4): Shockingly delicious. As I was looking forward to trying out the Mac and Gold Truck, I almost didn't get any Mac here. However, this Mac and cheese actually bypassed the quality of Mac and Gold. The Asiago cheese made it crazy rich and delicious, and the price was a steal for the portion. The Usual ($7). A grilled cheese with buffalo chicken breast, and jack and cheddar cheeses. The grilled cheese alone was a bit bland and about $1 over price. The bread was just normal grocery bread, and the cheeses were too mild. However, the spicy buffalo sauce made this grilled cheese! Oh My Grill came to our work for a badminton tournament we had for the employees as a team building exercise. Everyone was so excited to try their food and I will tell you that they did not disappoint!! The food was incredible! I've hit up this truck several times at various locations and every time it is glorious. It's such a simple concept of gourmet grilled cheese but executed perfectly. It's even better that they include a dipping side appropriate to the sandwich being sold as well. My personal belief is that this is the best food truck in the city area that I have hit up, and I am a fan of a good food truck. I've patronized the Oh My Grill truck a few times and tried several menu offerings....but the Number One always gets me. It's smoked gouda with bacon and carmelized onions and it has become one of my favorite sandwiches. They also have the Sicilian and a make your own option. But, I mean, it's grilled cheese. It's comfort food and it's comfort food with unique options. You're not going to hate it. I love supporting the food trucks because you can tell that the people running them really enjoy what they do. Service at the OMG truck is always friendly and grateful for the business. Finally tried this food truck at the Tar and Feather event at Wigle Whiskey tonight. My friend and I arrived a little after 7 and got in line immediately afterward, since we were both very hungry. The line moved extremely slowly, and it was over an hour before we were served. By the time we were able to order, they were out of the side that we both wanted (pasta salad), which was disappointing. We both ordered the Number One, and when it finally came up, we agreed that it was "pretty damn savory," as was the chive and cream dip that came with it. So, win on the food angle. Having said that, was it worth an hour's wait? I'm afraid I have to say no, since to me, it had better be haute cuisine to justify that kind of wait. While I understand that good food takes time to make, my time is valuable, too. Even after we'd ordered, it took a good ten minutes for our order to come up. At an event as packed as this one, that's way too much time. Clearly, they need to streamline their process or hire someone to help. There is such a thing as being a victim of one's own success (cf. Burgatory). I'd recommend this food truck only if the line is reasonable. Given my experience, I feel that I need to dock a star. Since the grilled cheese was very good, I'll award 3.5 stars, but I can't justify increasing my rating to a 4 until they learn to get a move on at busy events with a line of ravenous people waiting. EDIT: Two women standing behind us decided after waiting for 15 min. that the line was moving too slowly and decided to patronize another food truck--so we're not the only ones with this complaint, and they're losing sales due to this problem. read more

I went to a food truck round up at Coffee Buddha and finally had the chance to partake in the grilled cheese and I was not disappointed! I'm going old-school pros and cons for this review... Cons: Our single sammich cost $7, which I find to be fairly steep. And, though I understand that it takes time to perfectly grill the food, the wait time was *way* too long for one meal. Gave this a try this afternoon while they were parked at Coffee Buddha with PGH Taco Truck. Nice selection of specials with some sandwiches and I think there was mac and cheese on the menu as well. We just wanted to get a basic taste for the first time. We ordered the make your own-pepper jack, cheddar, bacon, and a side of sauce to dip the sandwich in. The Oh My Grill food truck comes to my workplace a couple times each summer and always gets rave reviews from my office!
