Service was not very good, disjointed and unorganized. Perhaps they were too busy to be attentive elsewhere; long wait between courses. Just dropped the ball as the night progressed. We felt really ignored and unimportant. Appetizers of Mapple bacon and shrimp cocktail were well received. Suprizingly the steaks were just of average quality and somewhat undercooked. This was me and my husband's first time dining here, and I'm glad I chose this restaurant. Well, we dined here for my husband's Pre-Father's Day dinner. The inside of the restaurant is really nice, but we chose to dine outside. A nice bar outside, tables, and friendly faces to greet you. Mihaela was our server, and she was lovely. Very attentive, friendly, and went over and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our dinner. We started out with drinks and appetizers. I had a lemonade and tried the sangria white. I'm not a drinker, so I didn't drink it. I tasted it and didn't like it. My husband end up drinking it. He also ordered a beer. Next, I ordered for my appetizer the jumbo shrimp cocktail. My husband ordered the seafood scallop Benedict. I ate two of my jumbo shrimp. My husband ate some of my shrimp and all of his scallops. Than we moved on to the entree. I had the seafood Cobb salad, and my husband had a porterhouse steak with loaded mash potatoes. Everything was delicious. We were super full, so we packed the majority of our entree up, to take home. Holy yum! We went for an an anniversary dinner. The food was spectacular. The environment was busy and loud. The server was on top of things, very knowledgeable, and friendly. The bathrooms were in need of some attention. When we arrived, we had reservations and we were greeted by the host who seemed frazzled. After we checked in, she didn't say anything. We didn't know if we were waiting to follow someone to our table, if there was a wait, if we should move aside or continue to wait for her to address us. It was super awkward and didn't start the night off right. Thankfully our server was amazing. I wish I remembered his name. He was so helpful with wine selection and food recommendations! He totally turned our bad start around. We ordered the blu hash browns, the mushrooms and some steaks. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted to die for. Pittsburgh Blue, owned by the Parasole Restaurant Group of Edina, is a cousin of downtown's Manny's, a venerable steakhouse pretending to be an independent stalwart of the Minneapolis downtown restaurant scene. Manny's is part of a chain. Only the name is different. Pittsburgh Blue is Manny's in sheep's clothing. Years ago, I thought Manny's went downhill. Now I know why. However, Pittsburgh Blue may be your only real dining option in Maple Grove, so those three stars are flexible. With a typical steakhouse decor, Pittsburgh Blue or Manny's Junior greets you with televisions, a dark bar, and checkered tablecloths. Gentlemen, all of a certain age, stand behind the bar to serve you. I had a weak cocktail and my wife ordered a decent Chardonnay. The wedges were large with chunks of blue cheese. In the middle of my enjoyment of the salad, here came our entrees. Annoyed, I sent my prime rib back until I was finished with my salad. It was too rare for Medium anyway. When returned, that prime rib had more salt than the Dead Sea. I couldn't taste any meat. Any cow was overpowered by salt. I almost keeled over and my head aches today from that sodium overload. My wife wanted desserts to go, and the pecan pie was good. Our bill was expensive. Maple Grove is the king of strip malls and chains. It's corporate heaven in so many ways. It's a chain and it is kind of stuck between being a mid-tier steakhouse and top tier. And I say that because there are a lot of steaks around $50-$60 à la carte, as opposed to starting at $80. Although by the time you add in sides and drinks and an appetizer and dessert, you're looking at over $200 for dinner for two. I thought the wait staff was friendly and professional. I thought the food was good, especially for a suburban steak house next to Trader Joe's. I wouldn't call it gourmet, but sometimes hearty and flavorful is what you want. The night we went they had a crab ceviche appetizer that was exceptional. It wasn't packed by any means, but everything did feel a bit rushed. I don't mind that. Sometimes efficient is good! Our server, Misty, was stellar; she was attentive, professional, and timely. They bring out frosted cups if you order a bottle of beer. Your entree is preceded by an order of fresh bread topped with something that tasted a bit garlicky but appeared green. I made a particular note that the top was crispy and the inside was soft, just like any good bread. All of our food was delicious. The table ordered a wild mushroom ravioli, pistachio crusted walleye, crab stuffed shrimp, and ribeye. We additionally ordered the a la carte sides loaded mashed potatoes (sour cream on the side) and green beans amandine. The walleye and raviolis were a tad butter heavy but that didn't ruin the dish. The wild mushroom raviolis came with a heaping amount of spinach and red bell peppers. This contrasts to previously written Yelp reviews where the vegetables with this dish appeared skimpy. I visited Pittsburgh Blue for a fun Friday lunch. My friend and I sat on the patio which has both high and low top tables with plenty of room, a nice outdoor bar, and some cute decorations. We were helped immediately by a friendly server. I ordered a glass of wine - the wine list lacking with only a few white and red options and the pricing is pretty high. I was in the mood for a sparkling, but decided to go with a Tempranillo since I didn't want to pay $15 for a glass of Prosecco. It was ok...I wasn't impressed but it was drinkable. It started to rain, so our server helped us to move inside and took our food order. I ordered the Caesar wrap with Parmesan fries and my friend ordered the lobster chowder and the prime rib. The Caesar wrap was good, but the Parmesan fries were the star. The lobster chowder was rich and flavorful, but we did find a shell in it.
