Took my son in for a haircut and gave 2 reference pictures. It took him maybe 10 minutes total. The finished product was so bad that I asked him to please even it out. He spent 5 more minutes, and made it look even worse, and even less like the photo. He barely said a word or took his eyes off the football game that was on TV while cutting. So asymmetrical, uneven and had entire chunks of hair he missed. Would not recommend. read more

Bill gave me the best haircut I received in Ann Arbor, hands down. I have tried: Coach and Four State street barber Great clips Nickels barber Pitts beat these places due to the attention of detail they are willing to give to your dome. Coach and four and state street are great barbers, but they just churn out too many undergrad Bros a day to really care about the way you look. Great clips just don't really care too much Nickels is OK but pricey. Pitts has a relaxed atmosphere and they will treat you right! $22 for a haircut and $19 for a buzz. They take credit card too! Hours are a little weird, but just set up an appointment-- they have free parking! read more

I've been looking for a new barber. I came here for a men's cut, and got one, for around $25 tipped, and it took about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the result was a bit rough and un-even, and, my girlfriend agrees, was someplace between "borderline" and "OK". It wasn't bad enough to merit a fix. A three-star haircut, on the nose. So, although I got what I asked for, and the price was right, I'll probably try someplace else in the future. read more

Moved to the area about 6 months ago and have not been able to find a good barber. Had to haircut in the area (Class Barber) and it was a terrible experience. Got a cut with Bill and he was great. Very kind person and attentive to the haircut. He took the extra time to make sure it was well done. Best haircut in the Ann Arbor area along with the most affordable. When you move to a new spot, finding a good barber can be a problem. I went two different barbershops in the Ann Arbor area, before I came here and I am pretty sure this will be my barbershop. You don't have to pay for parking to enter. There's stuff to read if you have to wait. They even provide K-Kups for those who want coffee. They accept credit cards. Barber made sure I left with the haircut I wanted. He even proposed for additional things like trimming eyebrows and facial hair, but I didn't want it. The other barbershops I went to didn't even shave off the stubbles of hair towards the top of my neck, but this barber took it away immediately. I saw all age groups there and you can even book appointments sometimes for people like me who have a tight schedule. I guess they could use a tv, but if you're in and out like I was, then a t.v. wont really matter. read more

The interior is very plain, very outdated. It smells weird... like a chemical one shouldn't really be breathing in. The barbers aren't chatty (or very personable, for that matter). But, to their credit, my husband loved the hair cut he received, and it really was the best hair cut he has ever received, in my opinion. It's also the first and only hair cut he hasn't complained about! It grew out nicely, too, and didn't end up looking like an ill-formed mullet (which is what has happened with every other place where he has had his hair cut). It only cost either $17 or $19, which isn't bad for Ann Arbor. I'm only giving them four stars for two very important reasons: Number one, they don't accept credit cards and there is absolutely no signage on the door explaining this. Potentially a customer could get all the way through a hair cut before realizing that he doesn't have a way to pay for it! Number two, they do not accept appointments, only walk-ins. I went with my husband for his first hair cut here, as we were on our way to Trader Joe's in the same shopping center. There were only two people ahead of my husband when we walked in. From the time we walked in to the time we walked out, it was over NINETY MINUTES. My husband feels that the hair cut was worth the excessive amount of time spent. I don't, which is why I won't tag along with him again. read more

Had a trim with Bill, an older guy who was friendly and professional. Nice and quiet shop on a weekday morning. A trim is $19 and they take credit card payments via Stripe (iPad + credit card reader + dedicated app for tipping and signing). I was having a crappy morning, came out feeling better and more relaxed. I came in on a Saturday afternoon as a walk in. Three people were there before me and Bill was the only one cutting hair that day so I had to wait a while. It takes about 20-25 minutes for a cut, but he takes his time and does a good job. You can set up an appointment if you don't want to risk waiting. When I first moved to Ann Arbor I was looking for a barber, I accidentally ended up at Pitts Barber shop. I got the best haircut that I can remember. I was pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail and a good old fashioned shave down the back of my neck. They also trim beards very nicely. This is a great, old fashioned barber shop with excellent service. Their prices are not cheap, but the haircut is worth it. You will be happier if you make an appointment though. I had been going to Arcade Barbers (for ~2 years) and wanted to get my haircut on Sunday so I decided I'd go here, as they were the only place open. I've been happy with the cuts I'd been getting at AB but this one is much better. In fact, it's so good I signed up for Yelp just to spread the word. The place was no frills in a comforting way; it was just like where I grew up getting my haircut and the barber was pleasant to chat with and asked for feedback at several points in the cut. Service and courtesy so fine that I had to write this review! I am always satisfied with my haircut when I leave Pitt's Barber Shop. The vintage chairs and fixtures are fun, but the atmosphere has been much improved by owner Bill's high quality, eclectic and stimulating playlist of music playing softly in the background. The price is fair, and both Bill and Joe are well worth it. The store is a 50-year Ann Arbor institution that keeps up with the times while maintaining what's good. read more

you got to be kidding me this guy....my sorrie but u dont know how to blend in hair bro, this guy went really slow and still mess it up, just rent out your chairs to some other barbers. very dissapointed in my $19 haircut. never going back.... hes not experience and trust me, in a good part of ann arbor but his skills of haircut sucks big time.
