Gotta catch this truck whenever it's out! I personally live in U-City and sometimes go to the location in Franklin's Table. But I just happened to come upon the truck in Chestnut Hill this evening and could not pass up on a fresh pizza from the truck. They somehow manage to have a full brick oven on the back of their truck, and made my pizza in 15 minutes despite the stream of scheduled tickets in the mix. I learned also that they take advance orders for timed pickup, and saw several people coming up to pick up their pizzas, all on time. I got the mushroom pizza. This thing is a dream, honestly. Somehow it's hotter and fresher than what I get from Franklin's Table. I only wish this truck came further south closer to me! read more

Pitruco recently catered our wedding at a local brewery for with 60 guests. Our guests have not stopped raving about the food- many saying it's the best food they've ever had at a wedding! The team was on time, did a great job with the set up/clean up and timed the dishes perfectly to meet the needs of our guests and the run of show. Plus, the staff did a great job at accommodating for dietary restrictions which helped all guests feel included at the festivities. Jonah was easy to work with in planning for the wedding and was quick and clear in all communications. Would highly recommend having the Pitruco Food Truck cater your next event! read more

Service was great, and the pizza itself was amazing. The Ambiance, while minimal, is sufficient in providing an adequate dining experience. I tried the basic cheese pizza, and the taste was phenomenal. My only gripe is the price, being about $13-14 per pie, but I feel like it's appropriate for the experience you're provided. read more

The service: Ordered from the food truck for later. I arrived one minute before my time and my pizza literally popped out the oven and was given to me piping hot! This is not a fluke as it happened the second time I went too! There was minimal wait time also! Only a few patrons standing around even though many people were coming and going for pickup. The food: For the price, I thought the pizza was a good size. I enjoyed the taste of the crust a lot and it was cooked to wood-fired perfection with a little char. I think the sauce is pretty good, but not my favorite - I would still eat it again. The toppings and ratio of sauce to cheese were perfect. *Definitely 4.5/5 and worth trying again! read more

One of my top favorite pizza places in Philly! I usually order a couple of times a month. Get the Spicy Garlic pizza! And whatever the special is - they're always delicious and unique. I also love the Mushroom pizza and the Sausage pizza. The House Salad is bomb as well and they don't skimp on ingredients. read more

Our wedding day was incredible, and it wouldn't have been possible without the team at Pitruco that catered for nearly 200 guests! From the moment we tasted their pizzas from the local truck, and found out they catered, we knew they were the perfect choice for our big day. They not only met our expectations but exceeded them in every possible way. From the initial consultation to the wedding day itself, the team was easy to work with and on top of it. They went above and beyond to accommodate our preferences and special dietary needs, making sure that every guest was well taken care of (they made gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free options!). The variety of pizzas offered is great and the non-pizza appetizers and salads were a big hit as well! The service provided by the food truck was top-notch. We got compliment after compliment from our guests. If you're looking to add delicious food with a relaxed vibe we wholeheartedly recommend Pitruco. They handled a large event with ease and were incredibly reasonably priced. Overall a standout vendor and we can't recommend them enough! read more

I am very very disappointed in this pizza. It looks great and smells great, but unfortunately it did not taste great. Definitely did not taste as good as it smells. The pizzas were ultimately a salt lick. We got two mushroom pizzas (could have done without the scallions). They were generous with the fresh mushroom toppings, but really all we tasted was salt, salt, and more salt. The amount of salt put into these pizzas overpowered the taste of everything else. My boyfriend thought the same and he loves salt. Actually, he was the first one to say it's too salty so that should mean something. I usually don't say anything because I know I'm an outlier when it comes to salt tolerance. I got my other friend a pepperoni pizza as a thank you dinner for picking me up for our road trip and he only had a slice and a half and never ate the rest. :-( Smaller slices would have also been nice (eighths vs quarters). For the cost of these pizzas, I was hoping they would be as good as Nomad or delicious enough for you to want to go back. read more

I'm rating this one experience I'm having right now. Not the entire restaurant & will try more pizza from here. Just not this horrible spicy garlic. Omg. I'm eating it because it cost me $9 & I haven't eaten all day. Walking to my car, I spot the truck in Love Park, I make an instant detour. I haven't eaten from here in years, but I remembered thinking the margherita was the best I've had outside of Italy. So, I made the fatal mistake of trying something new. I love spicy food & garlic. I couldn't resist! It's. So. Bad. Look at the picture. There's hardly any cheese & what's there is singed. The garlic is singed. The spice is perfect though. But ughhh, what an expensive disappointment. read more

Great pies. Good prices. Ordered em last weekend and still thinking about it. However - I really wish there were more pizza options and seasonal pies. It would be nice to have options beyond pizza, too - maybe a standard side or alternative entree to pair with the pizzas. A very solid Philly pizza spot - highly recommend. I just can't see it becoming a regular place for me until they expand their offerings. Even just a LITTLE bit. read more

We had Pitruco at our wedding for late night food and it was probably among my (and my guests') FAVORITE parts of the wedding. I wanted to avoid lines (we had 175 guests) and Pitruco agreed to have plenty of pizzas premade and ready to go. We thought we might have been getting 1-2 flavors but were shocked when we had 8 options to choose from night of! Our guests keep talking about how great the pizza was. My husband and I went to Wharton and are now realizing what a miss it was we didn't visit the Franklin's Table location. I'll definitely be making some special trips in the future. I would LOVE to have another event in the future with Pitruco! read more

If the Pitruco pizza truck isn't magical, then I don't know what is. There's nothing like fresh, delicious, and affordable brick oven wood-fired pizza popping up all over town. The service is good and very fast (my pizza was ready in less than 10 mins from ordering). When you bite into this pizza, you can practically taste the tomato orchards. The dough and cheese are also very fresh and tasty. (You can see the guy tossing the dough inside the truck.) You definitely can't go wrong with their Margherita pizza. Pizzas with more toppings are only ~$1 more. While this is not going to be the cheapest lunch you'll get from a food truck, this is possibly the very best deal in the city for a delicious 11"-brick oven wood-fired pizza made from scratch. (You pay over $15 plus tax & tip for similar pizza at Nomad, Bufad, Pietro's, and Pizzeria Vetri.) Finding them can sometimes be tricky, but your best bet is to look at their Twitter page for updates. Right now, it seems they station themselves at LOVE Park every Monday. Center City folks, if that's not a good reason to look forward to Mondays, then I don't know what is. read more

Average . Really a 2.7 . I'm glad I saved money by going to the truck instead of the brick and mortar location . The brick and mortar location located at 3401 will cost you almost double FYI. Ordered two pies which came out to be about $18 . The spicy pizza really wasn't that spicy and was just unmemorable . The white pie had this weird sweetness . I think it was due to the beschamel sauce . It just doesn't work in my opinion on a pie . The Crust for both pies were soggy . Maybe I'm just not into this style of pizza . But yeah I won't be returning . Sad this place turned out to be hype . read more

Pitruco is located inside Franklin's Table on Penn's campus, like a little foodcourt area. The pizza is made to order and delicious. Problem is, prices are high for what you get. Personal pizzas are $12-14 each and remember, this is inside a food court. So you aren't getting ambiance or table service. I'm not sure how college students are able to afford the restaurants in Franklin's table, but it's always packed. This was my second time ordering the Margarita pizza. First time was drenched in oil. This time I asked for no oil. This was to cut on calories and well as mess. I'm excited to try more options, but I'm tempted just to go to Zavino's since the prices are similar and you get more for your money. But if you are in the area, give Pitruco a shot. read more

We orderd on door dash 30 mins to close after attempting to get pizza from another place that had sold out in our area. We ordered the mushroom pizza, pepperoni and the spicy garlic I believe. Three pizza boxes arrived top box had a cute little note stating they ran out of dough ( I was about to cry) and that they decided to gives us some of the older pizzas on them with extra drinks. Honestly I couldn't even snap a picture of the pies they were freaking amazing with incredible depth in flavors. I would have never even known they weren't fresh. I appreciate the honesty and integrity of this place. I could only imagine what the fresh pizzas taste like. It took me a year and a half to try this place, but finally the curiosity of the people standing out in the cold waiting for their pizza got to me... So I called in an order for pickup. I got half margherita and half radicchio. Idk what radicchio is, but it was a little bitter and I was not a huge fan ... But the margherita was amazing! The sauce was on point, and the basil wasn't too overpowering. If you are a huge cheese lover, you might be disappointed because the pizzas here aren't really cheesy. I will definitely be back to try the other favors... And oh, the best part, they take credit cards! :) read more

Pitruco catered our wedding of around 80 guests last month and we seriously couldn't have asked for a better experience. As a pizza fanatic myself, I was so excited to actually serve pizza at our own wedding as the main dish. I'm just so glad it was such an incredible hit - everyone absolutely loved the pizza, the different options, and the food truck experience. I'll also note that they were super professional, communicative, on-time, set up everything exactly how we wanted, and every pizza came out fantastic. Again, I'm a bit of a pizza fanatic so the bar was set pretty high, and Pitruco absolutely nailed it. Forever grateful for their services. Thank you! read more

Are you a crust person? I'm not. But after devouring one slice of Pitruco's, crust and all, I momentarily regretted casting aside all my pizza crusts in the past...then I remembered that those crusts really did suck, but I'm not wasting ANY of these perfectly risen and crispy edges! Guys, this is some of the best pizza in town, right up there with Pizzeria Beddia but without the wait. I had the Spicy Garlic and Margherita on my last visit - FANTASTIC! This trip I went fancy, getting the Eggplant spruced up with garlic and hot pepper flakes. The whipped ricotta was amaaazing and balanced the hot pepper heat real nicely! Great ingredients is a must for good pizza, but getting the crust right takes it to another level, and these guys are masters. Great people, INCREDIBLE pizza dough, and fresh, quality toppings. We had their pizza when the truck was parked in Fairmount one evening and fell in love with it. We hired them to come to our wedding party and serve pizzas outside to our 85 guests. Working with Jonah was great- he helped us decide how much food we needed and what varieties of pizza to order. He was available for questions and concerns in the weeks leading up to the party and was always eager to help. The team was so incredible during the party they showed up right on time and ready to go. The whole team was warm, friendly, and so kind to our guests. And most importantly, the pizza was amazing!!! Our guests were raving about it all day. The staff made sure that there was always fresh pizza out for our guests and they even left a few pizzas in individual pizza boxes when the party was over- they didnt last long! We are so thankful for everything they did to make our party truly unforgettable. Hopefully we have another opportunity to hire them for a future event! read more

The idea of pizza via food truck has fascinated me for a long time. Luckily yesterday I was able to have Pitruco for the second time. My first experience was at the night market, when I dragged Clay straight from the trolley past all the other vendors so I could finally get some of their pizza before the line was out of control. After a 10 minute wait (the line got long quick after us) we placed our orders for half margarita half salami and were quickly handed our pies. I was little disappointed they were only offering two varieties but it is totally understandable for that type of event. And the speed at which the cook the pies really makes it some of the best food at the event. The crust on the Pitruco pizza is perfection. Definitely one of the best in Philly. The toppings are minimal in a good way as well. Yesterday I was lucky enough to try the famed Spicy Garlic I have been hearing so much about. We went for the additional cheese at no cost and I urge you do to the same. It was phenomenal. The thinly sliced garlic and loads of red pepper really make a great pie. The crust again was outstanding and this time there was no wait. At $6.50 this is definitely the deal of the century because I found it to be enough to split. Now if only I worked downtown and could indulge on a regular basis. read more
