We originally wanted to "add" a halo to the existing ring, but he suggested we put it in a new setting because it would make the profile of the ring look odd. He was so honest and thoughtful with his recommendations, and really pushed me to try on every band until I found "the one". He also cleaned my fiance's family ring and took out the diamond for us to look at. He told us everything he could see about the diamond (it was an older, European cut) and let us look at it through the magnifying glass. The entire time I didn't feel pressured and all of his recommendations seem to be sincere and helpful ones. My fiance had previously gone to another jeweler on his own, and was a little confused after he left that jeweler. They didn't give many suggestions with what to do to his ring (maybe because he wasn't purchasing a diamond from them?) and didn't seem entirely helpful or inclined to. With Harout, we ended up choosing a band and setting I absolutely loved. He sent over renderings and completed the ring within the time frame he gave. Because of the material, size, and adjustment needed, Serjeo recommended an annealing process (carefully heating and cooling to slowly stretch the ring without damage). Because of my husband's finger shape (larger base than knuckle), Serjeo not only ensured a perfect and comfortable fit, but gave advice for avoiding swelling or situations that might cause problems.
