About 2 years ago, my car had a rough idle and it would occasionally jurk while driving. I went to 2 places prior to Pit Stop and they were not able to figure out what the problem was. Pit Stop diagnosed it within 15 minutes! Not only are they good and fast at what they do, but their prices are very reasonable. Most important, they are honest! The owner/ manager, Leon is a great guy and will give you options, depending on your cars situation. I've been to a few mechanics in the area and I think Pit Stop is as good as it gets. read more

I would not send them or let them touch your car. I have been to many mechanics and in my life, this has been the worst experience in my life. I have to take my car somewhere else to get fixed. Had to get my car towed from their business. Absolute waste of time and money. read more

Finally - an honest fairly priced mechanic! Took in my Jeep for a thermostat replacement and an oil change. The gentleman at the front knows his stuff, got me in and out quickly and the best part...didn't fleece me. Would've cost twice as much at the dealer. I read the reviews and can verify - these guys are the real deal. read more

I've been a long time customer and this is the only place I'll take my car in SC. The entire team is kind, helpful, and efficient. I trust them implicitly, if they suggest a repair or a service I know it's not an upsell it's because I need it. I recommend this place to all my girlfriends to get their car serviced. My car has over 240k miles on and they make sure to keep it safe and drivable which is exactly what I'm looking for! read more

I went in for an oil change on a Friday morning and it was SO busy. They seemed to be helping quite a few customers at once as well as attending to some mechanical/electrical issues with the HVAC system. It was hectic--and hot--to say the least, and yet I was greeted by a calm, smiling face that seemed unphased by working in such heat. I appreciated his knowledge of what kind of oil my vehicle my needed and swiftness of taking care of me. He told me it could be quite a wait for an oil change, and upon seeing my disappointment with this answer, he immediately went and found someone to get it done. By chance there was an additional employee available and they were able to work on my car within minutes. I was so thankful. I think I was helped by Dennis, the owner. I was surprised today, four days later, to see that he texted me. He reached out to simply check in, offer his direct contact for future assistance, and thank me for my business. I thought that was just awesome. The price was fair and the service was terrific. Additionally, they have free popcorn, coffee, and water in the waiting area, and options of places to go walk to eat or shop nearby while you wait. I am so pleased with this experience. read more

We've been getting oil changes here for years. Great and speedy service every time!! Mr. Leon will take care of you with a smile.

Great Service. Did not try and upsell. Fit me in without an appointment. Nice people

Mr. Leon is a super GREAT HONEST man, I am from out of state and I thought I had an issue with my truck, I took it in dropping it off. Mr Leon checked it out and called me. A code did come up during their check - but he said it was nothing major and my local mechanic back home could take care of it. He could have replaced parts that did not need changing and charged me a ton of money. As he would probably never see me again being from out of state. Nope the cost was MORE than fair. If the locals or anyone else does not use this place they are crazy. Thank you Mr. Leon !!!!! They are not great but they are HONEST, DEPENDABLE and EXCELLANT !!!!!! read more

AMAZING!!! I cannot rave enough about this company. As a girl getting my car serviced is always an extremely stressful experience, but I felt so cared for and safe there. Very transparent about pricing over the phone. He looked over my car and addressed all of my concerns. They found nothing wrong with my car and didn't charge me anything! Truthfully such amazing people! read more

I live in NJ have been in the Mount Pleasant area for the past several weeks. This morning, the low oil pressure indicator light came on in my car. After checking the oil level, with the assistance of a very kind neighbor, it was determined that there was virtually no oil in my car. The neighbor recommended that I go to Pit Stop Auto and Tire. Not knowing this area, the neighbor offered for me to follow him there. I was introduced to Leon, who said that he would change the oil in addition to check all of the other fluid levels, and check my tire pressures as well. In what seemed like no time at all, Leon informed me that he was finished with my car! The neighbor stated that he has known Leon for a very long time, that he does excellent work, and is very reliable and fair. I can honestly say that my day took a turn for the better when I drove away from Pit Stop Auto and Tire. I feel much better about tackling the drive back to NJ in a few weeks. THANK YOU, LEON! read more

My brother bought a new truck and gave my daughter his 98 GMC Sierra 1500. The only problem is, is sat for about 6 months before we were able to come down to Charleston to get it. The reviews of this place being HONEST, QUICK and KIND are 100% true! Leon and the guys he works with are the best. Went in, got an oil change, back light fixed all in no time and at a fantastic price. If we lived in Charleston this would be our go to place and going I am going to highly recommend them to the family we do have living here. Highly recommend! read more

Cannot provide enough positive feedback following my recent visit at Pit Stop Auto & Tire in Mount Pleasant! The Service Manager Leon runs an honest, capable and efficient automotive service operation. As a testimony to honesty, I had the misfortune of recently buying a used vehicle with an oversized oil drain plug installed. For those who don't know, this usually means that the entire oil pan requires replacement. Leon and I discussed the issue and scheduled total replacement the next day at a fair price. The next morning, Leon called as promised to let me know that the oversized plug actually threaded the drain and that the pan did not require replacement! The shop could have easily went ahead and replaced the part anyway, but they decided to take the high road of integrity. My family and I are now loyal customers and could not be happier. Take your vehicle to this location for all your needs! read more

I just found my new favorite auto service center. My car was damaged at a nearby car wash resulting in a plastic access panel dragging on the ground. I was not able to drive the vehicle in this condition without further damage. I asked Leon, store manager, if he could please help me by removing the panel so I could go to the dealership for repair. He didn't do that. Instead he had the mechanic repair the panel and also tightened up two other areas that were loose. When I went to pay, Leon told me that it's no charge. I am new to the area and I know where I'm getting auto services done going forward. Leon was also professional with the other customers in the waiting room. No hard upselling or unneeded services. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. read more

Very friendly folks here, and I was able to walk-in and get an oil change on the spot, with only a 30m wait. I tried to get an appt at my "regular" place... and they could not see me for a full week. For an oil change. My new "regular" place is Pit Stop! Thanks guys! The wifi was fast enough for me to continue working from my laptop while I waited, which is a plus. read more

The mechanics may be actual pit crew members - they were unbelievably fast, did excellent work, were super nice and charged great prices

This place has come highly recommended by many people in my area. I find their mechanics to be top notch with excellent communication skills. Leon, the manager was very thorough and informative. Prices were also reasonable. I have taken my vehicles in there for a broad range of services over the year, with a consistently positive experience. I hope they continue to thrive, thanks ! Good personal service. Sign stated there might be a delay due to lack of personnel however I didn't feel like we waited any extra time.

Really positive experience with Pit Stop. Visiting from California and my elderly in-laws "check engine light" came on when we were driving their car. We had it checked out at the local auto part store and they felt it was the alternator causing the problem. We asked if they could refer us to a mechanic or auto repair shop and they highly recommended Pit Stop. I checked Yelp and Google and saw they had a lot of fans and 5 star reviews. I called the following morning and was pleasantly surprised with their friendliness and he told me to bring the vehicle down. Leon Holmes, the Manager, was working the counter and was a pleasure to work with and felt comfortable we were in good hands and with a trustworthy company. I left the car and received a call about an hour later and they told me the alternator was fine and were able to re-set the computer. They took really great care of us and really appreciate their honesty and quick service. We can highly recommend Pit Stop for repairs. read more

Went into this place for an oil change a few weeks ago and receive a notification from my car that I have no oil in it. They messed up my plug on the bottom of the car and is leaking oil now. Had to go to another shop for a diagnostic about it. They told me I should dispute the oil change and request reimbursement for their mistake. Never going back there. read more

The website gives you an option to choose 2 timeframes for an appointment. I understand the current climate of being short-staffed especially in the service industry; however, the response I got via email was, " first come, first serve". That was it. No apologies, the time slots are unavailable, here are some other times we have available, we are not taking appointments at this time, etc. I will never do business here. read more

I'm new to town and took a chance on Pit Stop and I'm really glad I did! Super friendly, kind, hard-working staff. They did a really thorough job - I went in for an oil change and they also noticed my air filter needed a change, which I really appreciated. They said there was a wait but I was really impressed with how quickly they got the job done! I will definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to others! Best experience! In and out in 30 minutes! Reasonably priced, friendly staff, and nothing done unnecessarily! I'll definitely be back!

Got my oil change and they didn't try to up sell me on things I didn't need. They gave me a report on things that I may need to take a look at in the near future . I went during a Thursday and was able to have my car taken straight to the back. 30 minutes or so I was completely done and ready to go on. Also received a $2 off coupon for Cactus Car Wash which is attached to their building. No hassle, in and out. Good job. Customer service was good as well. read more

I come here regularly and they know me and my car, (those car lashes help in the recognition department). I love this place. Friendly and efficient and no sales pressure pushing for 'extras' at every oil change, so I've come to trust them with my car. read more

Leon and his team provided incredible service. They were efficient and kind through the process. I'll return for future needs.

I love the car-wash next door so I came in for an oil change. I guess the week of Thanksgiving is like their black Friday and it was the week before that so it was pretty busy. I had never been before so the guy quickly took my info so that my car would be next in line. They had free wifi, popcorn, and friendly service for days. The waiting room isn't as kush as the car wash next door... I almost wanted to go sit in that waiting room, but it's comfortable nonetheless. The price was reasonable and considering how busy it was, I was out of there in less than a half hour. Plus, they didn't try to sell me a bunch of shit I didn't need or ask for which is much appreciated. Great place for a quick lube job! read more

I called this shop because my check engine light had come on a few days before. I was told they couldn't get me in today, but when I explained that I am from out of state and leaving in the morning, he told me that they could work me in to run a diagnostic test. The gentleman at the desk was very friendly and they got me right in. Definitely recommend this auto shop! read more

Just came home from our third visit here and we are still impressed. We took advantage of their Wednesday deal where you get 1/2 the top tier car wash. Its amazing they can offer it at such a low price. Two cleaners were working on our car non stop for half an hour and they did a great job. Between our three kids I think they pulled out 2 boxes of cereal! We will definitely be coming here regularly. read more
