Super friendly staff! Great first experience. I hope future visits are only for maintenance- but felt very comfortable with their service. They recommended what was needed but didn't feel pressured. (The only comment 'as a first timer' was that I didn't know whether I should call after I received the inspection video or if I should wait for a call). Mistreated by Exclusively European in Mount Pleasant I usually don't complain but this incident has really shocked me. My son's car was leaking coolant so I brought it to Exclusively European where I had been a customer for over 20 years. They did a diagnosis on my car and told me that I needed to replace the thermostat assembly heat exchanger and since they were already in there that I should replace the oil filter housing assembly and that it would total over $4000.00 in repairs but since I had an extended warranty, I was only going to be out of pocket for the difference in labor that the extended warranty was willing to pay and I had to pay for the hoses but everything else was covered. I agreed and they fixed my son's car and told me I could pick it up at 5:00pm on Friday. I brought my son with me and they handed him the keys and he drove off in newly repaired car. When I saw the bill, I noticed that the hoses cost a little over $400.00 and that the difference in labor was around $500.00 and with taxes it should be around $1000.00 but it was actually a little over $1300.00. I asked what the extra $300.00 or so extra was for, and the manager Paul Davis could not tell me but he said I had to pay for the bill and if there was anything wrong then I would be refunded on Monday. I told him how about I pay for the hoses and the difference in labor that I was told about and on Monday I will come back in and if the extra fee is legit then I would pay it. He disagreed and told me that I couldn't pick up the car if I didn't pay the full amount. I reminded him that my son was already given the keys and the car is no longer there. Paul was very disgruntled and finally adjusted the bill and took off a shop supplies expense which was around $250.00 and asked if I will pay the remainder of the bill. I told him that I would pay the new total but to get the person who made up the bill to call me on Monday so we can figure out the difference. I never received the phone call Monday but I called my warranty company to make sure that what I paid was the correct amount and they agreed that everything else was covered except the hoses and the difference in the labor fee. Now my car is leaking oil and I called Exclusively European and spoke to Paul and he told me he is not looking at my car and that I could find another shop and that was my only choice. I lost sleep that night thinking about what type of crazy that I was dealing with. I looked on facebook and realized that I had mutual friends with his wife Wendy and thought to go speak to Paul the next day to figure out a way to smooth things over and get my car looked at. The next day I showed up at Exclusively European and was told Paul was five minutes away. I sat in the waiting area and about 20 minutes later an employee told me that Paul was not going to talk to me and that I was no longer their customer. I then said what about the warranty I get on the over $4000.00 repair and he said that I'm no longer in the system and I have to go else ware. I then said I have been a customer for over 20 years and after every oil change or service in the past, I receive a text if I could give a review. I asked if he cared this would escalate to unfavorable reviews and he said that they get so many good reviews that my negative review wouldn't matter. I then said if I go to another shop because they won't honor their warranty, I would then have to hire a attorney to recoup my unnecessary expenses and he said you have to do what you need to do. After this incident, I'm thinking what type of people are running the show at Exclusively European when you get kicked out for questioning a bill and now they won't honor the warranty that goes with the work. read more

I normally take my vehicles to another mechanic but they were short a qualified mechanic so they recommended Exclusively European. I brought my car in for an overall diagnosis as there was a lot going on. I also made clear that I don't want to spend any money until I knew what we were looking at. I own an Audi A5 (2018) that is now off its service agreements and I used Yelp to locate Exclusively European for an oil / filter change. They identified that I needed my spark plugs changed (which I'd expected) and a Motor Mount that was cracked and leaking. They provided me pictures and a video to explain to me what role these parts play and why they should be replaced which I really appreciated. The staff is friendly, helpful and competent and they don't push services. They made the repairs promptly and provided an estimate of the cost in advance. Turns out my neighbors have been using them for over 25 years and had only good things to say. Plus, my Uber driver told me that he's used them for many years and he drives many happy customers to pick up their cars. I would highly recommend this establishment! read more

I took my X3 to Exclusively European after it threw a drivetrain malfunction error; I refused to take it back to the dealership as they overcharge, under deliver, and are less than reputable (I was charged over $600 for spark plugs that were never changed). My technician, Blake C, and service writer, Blake N, were absolutely amazing. I received a detailed report of their findings (including pictures) AND a phone call to explain it all and answer my additional questions and concerns. They were able to fix the issue promptly, discussed preventative maintenance, and - the best part - they charged me a fair price AND provided excellent customer service. I will never take my car back to the Rick Hendrick BMW now that I've had the opportunity to experience Exclusively European. read more

Overpriced and poor customer service time and again have led me to go outside of Mt.P for service on my BMW. A diagnostic fee for everything and not applying the cost of that towards the cost of repairs is just excessive. They realize that they've got a more affluent clientele in this part of town and take serious advantage of that. read more

We have a 2009 bmw when ever we have any car needs we take it here. So far so good, service is always good, we have had to get a new fuel pump and a several oil changes. Their prices are upfront and fair. They are always good about getting us in I would call a few days ahead of time if you can, they can get pretty busy. read more

I own a 1988 325i convertible (E30) and exclusive has always been helpful over the years for things. I have a mechanic that I've been going to for a very long time so this isn't my regular spot (nothing against exclusive, I've just had the other relationship longer). I've come in to exclusive numerous times to have a very BMW specific thing fixed or find a part that I'm having trouble with and they've always been more than helpful. These guys are the best in town, better than the dealer in many respects. They are not the cheapest place to go for routine maintenance, but if you have a real problem with your BMW, this is the place to take it. They know the cars inside and out, and have seen all the common issues compared to a regular shop. If your car is throwing a code or not running right, they don't jump to conclusions and replace every part. They diagnose the problem and only replace parts when necessary. All of this doesn't come cheap -- they are the most expensive independent shop in town -- but things are done right the first time and you can trust you are not going to get ripped off. read more

We were in from out of town. My x5 was dragging my skid plate underneath my car. In spite of using a lot of duck tape I needed it repaired for the ride home. I had a light on my car come on today indicating that my tires were low. I walked in to a very busy reception area and was greeted by a pleasant young lady and a gentleman. I told him what my problem was and he asked for my keys and took my car immediately to see what the problem was. Within minutes he returned and said it was all taken care of and didn't charge me a thing. He was super nice and I can only assume he was the owner. I had an issue with a different car when I first moved to Charleston and he took care of that problem immediately as well. While my car is still under warranty, once that warranty is up, I will definitely take my car to these people. I can't express how genuinely nice and accomodating these people have been to me. Took my BMW 740I in on a Friday to have oil change and brake job. It took them 2 hours. While I left the car there with in 30 minutes they called to let me know the cost of the repair and gave me an outline of what had to be done the time it would take and the total estimated cost. When I returned the car was done on time and the cost was less than quoted. The management on Friday's has lunch catered in for "team building" if you get there early they just might share! We contacted them Friday, they were able to let us have the car towed in and fix the problem in a few hours so we could get on the road to drive back home to Virginia. We took our 2008 Mini Cooper Clubman to Exclusively Bimmer for the first time because of excessive white smoke coming from both tail pipes. We had only owned the car for a few months. They diagnosed that the engine was no longer good and worked with our Extended Warranty Co to attain approval for the engine to be replaced. This was a long, complicated and length process with the warranty company. Exclusively Bimmer remained courteous, professional and took the time to show us and the Extended Warranty Co the photos of the internal imagine damage and explain every detail of what was wrong with our car along the way. They went to all measures required from the extended warranty co to prove the engine was a complete failure by the outside adjuster ordered by the extended co to verify and prove the engine was in fact a complete failure. They really worked with us to have the car repaired the correct way through the warranty company who did not make it easy for them. In our opinion the are ALL FANTASTIC...Jordan, Paul, Danielle, Mark, Greg and all the other staff that we had the pleasure of dealing and working with during the two weeks that they had our auto. The car would have been repaired sooner but the extended warranty really caused delays at every turn. They will be the caretaker of our Mini for as long as we have it. Hopefully, that will be a long time since we now have a new and shiny engine thanks to their persistence! They really look out for the customers best interest and are a real delight to work with too.
