Was interested by the fusion of Peruvian and Chinese. Walked in to the restaurant, stood by the door, waited and then made eye contact with a couple of service folks, but they continued on with finding other things to do. After a few minutes, the bar tender finally asked if I was there to pick up food. I said no and asked for a menu for a to go order. There didn't seem to be much of a fusion between Peruvian and Asian food, but more Peruvian. Being that I wasn't interested and the service experience, I gave the menu back and walked out. read more

The absolute BEST Peruvian spot in Orlando, HANDS DOWN! We celebrated my mom's birthday here and there were 15 of us in total for this smaller establishment. They never made us feel like a burden and were EXTREMELY accommodating! We all sat outside during a lovely night (not too hot or cold, just right) and the Mark Anthony music was blasting which we loved! And not loud enough where we couldn't hear each other which was nice! Just added to the overall vibe. My boyfriend and I ordered the Leche de Tigre ceviche app which was mind-blowingly delicious (I could put that sauce on anything!) and my Jalea was to die for! The fried fish was battered to perfection and the sauces they provided were top tier! Everyone at the table was raving about their food and they even commended me on picking the place! I ordered the Lomo Soltado with Steak and subbed the white rice for tostones. The steak was so tender and flavorful. The tostones were served hot and freshly fried. The fries seemed like they needed a few more minutes in the fryer but it wasn't inedible to the point where I felt the need to send it back. We asked if they had a white garlic sauce and they provided something called Tártara. It tasted so good and went so well with my entree! Especially for dipping my fries. One of my cousins ordered the same as me but kept the white rice. He enjoyed the meal just as much as me. We both ordered their Sangria and I can confidently say that it was one of the best Sangrias I've ever had. Not overly bitter or too sweet. So delicious! My other cousin ordered the Pulpo La Brasa. The sauces that came with her dish were tasty. My favorite was definitely the chimichurri. She described the grilled octopus as tender and that both the potatoes and octopus were seasoned super well. I would consider the price to be reasonable considering the area the restaurant is in, ambience, portion size, and quality. I had enough leftovers that could be a second meal for me. The place is very small and was crowded when we went. It was difficult to be seated since everyone's chairs were back to back from each other. We thought we had to order at the counter but luckily someone saw our confusion as we walked in and told us we could be seated anywhere and a server would be with us. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The service was a bit slow. In the beginning our waitress was at our table often but once the food came out, we couldn't find her. We asked a man for help when it came to requests for the garlic sauce and napkins. I think he may be the manager because his customer service was exceptional. read more

We have tried several restaurants serving Peruvian food and we wanted to check out the newest spot in Lake Nona. Located across the street from Don Julio, it's a smaller restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. The outside seating could not be utilized due to the cold temps, but we enjoyed our visit. We had the Arroz Chaufa with seafood and the Lomo Saltado, both meals freshly made and very tasty. The employees were helpful and friendly. Looking forward to the Gastrobar opening as well. I was hankering for some Peruvian food and didn't have to go far to find this spot. Luckily, this place opened fairly recently in my neck of the woods. The restaurant is nicely decorated and inviting. They have the giant bull head on the wall that I wish I could have in my home, this with the colorful cords on the ceiling make it a very cheerful place. We were trying to budget, so no apps and no drinks (so sad) but we ordered a plate and hat came with fried fish, seafood rice, and ceviche and an onion salad. Let me tell you.. I was glad we didn't order apps because we shared this and had leftovers. Still sad about the drinks though. The plate was beautifully presented and filled with fresh seafood. The rice had tender calamari and shrimp. Too many peas though. The fish was fried to perforando had a great dipping sauce. The ceviche was fresh with big chunks of fish and huge shrimp. This location recently opened. Cool decorations. I was excited to try this place for the Ceviche. Please keep in mind this is the "Express" style restaurant. The outdoor area is small in between the parking lot and parked cars. I was not a big fan of that. You walk in, make a line to order then find an available table. There are not a lot of tables and some had to wait for a table to open up. The 3 star is for the over all experience. I give it a 4.5 star on the food. They offer traditional Peruvian beer and drinks. Confession, I was so excited to try their food, I forgot to take pictures of the main dishes. I ordered the Ceviche Clásico - Seafood. Yum!! Flavorful with a lot of lime as a true Ceviche should have. I also ordered Arroz con Mariscos. Very filling rice mixed with fresh sea food. This is a shareable size dish. A down side, if you feel like having another drink, you will have to make the line again to order one. read more

If you are unsure just ask at the counter and they will make suggestions. We are outside and it was delightful to watch the sun set while we ate. There is inside seating but overall seating is limited but take out is available. My dish was borderline salty but that did not stop me from eating every last bite!!! Had a great time at Pisco express. The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly. I got the fried seafood platter, antichucos, and ended with some of the best desserts I had in a while. Loved their alfajores (mini sugar cookies with dulce de leche in the middle) and it wasn't on the menu at the time but there was this passion fruit dessert they recommended. Which was almost like a creamy passion fruit mousse with roasted passion fruit seeds on top to give it an extra crunch. If you like passion fruit, I highly recommend it. Glad there is another Peruvian place in lake Nona area so I can recommend it to people. They share a plaza so parking was easy and they even have outdoor seating. Will be back! read more

We came on a Sunday afternoon and sat outside in their patio area. Lots of umbrellas to shade us from the sun. The waitress that we had was extremely nice as well as all the other staff. Everyone was so cheerful and accommodating. We started with a Pisco sour and a sangria. Both were very good. The appetizer that we ordered was the tostones with shrimp, beef and fish. It was a great size for sharing. We both had the steak with fries and rice for the main and finished with the most delicious flan. it's an OK restaurant, I had great expectations about the food but the food was average. I almost have a heart attack when I got my Ceviche. As a Peruvian, I eat ceviche at the moment. the fish was too over cooked and the presentation was disappointing. The Lomo Saltado was good but the meat was cut too big. The Octopus on the grill was cold, it should come on a hot skillet. No Pisco cocktails. I recommend to watch some Gaston Acurio Videos or hire a Peruvian chef. I knew this will happen when I learned that this is part of Don Julio owner, Not coming back, so far Best restaurant in Orlando is Mares. read more
