That being said, probably some of the best poutine I've ever had - especially with how the chicken and gravy melds together with the fries oh so well. Plus, the chicken was oh so juicy and freshly made, as you can see the staff churning out the poultry fresh from the spit. Would totally go again if I'm ever on the area, as despite how busy and tight it is, it's a rather lovely food experience.

When we visited, the line wrapped around the corner of the shop and it was about a 30 minute wait for us. There is one counter to order and you pay at the end of the line up when your order is complete. There are some tables inside if you want to dine in. When I got the poutine, I was surprised by the portion size. Depending on your appetite, I'd say it can be shared between 2-4 people. They have some pastries at the front counter as well. Note: There is also a back side door if you need to meet the rest of your party that is already inside - so it doesn't look like you're cutting the line! :)

Thank god I found it because one large chicken + chorizo poutine can feed my hungry wife and I and we even have leftovers! The fries are fresh, crispy, and the gravy is made with drippings of their own rotating rotisserie chicken. The chorizo sausage is barbecued to perfection. Did I mention they give you a lot of food for the price!? They also have a beautiful bakery with Bolas, strawberry cheesecake, and other fresh-made bakery items. They also have great service, with friendly cashiers, and the quality of food is 6 out of 5 stars. It's my favorite place and I come here almost once a week. They are passionate about their food and generous, and if you don't feel like paying up-the-arse for delicious Portuguese chicken Romados is the place for you. It's homey, they have spicy and mild Piri Piri sauce to choose from, the fries are tasty but not too salty, Chicken Salad is really delicious, and furthermore, they have family options, rice, potatoes, and you can order a half or quarter chicken, as well as other options like soup and barbecue pork (also very good). Thank you Romados!

All of the dishes were outstanding, but we particularly recommend the squid and the sausage dishes. All dishes are served with extremely tasty fries, which are cooked in a small amount of chili oil for flavor. Chili oil also comes on the side (with a marinade brush included), which we appreciated. Next time we go here, we want to try their sardines.

The food was pretty good but the ribs entree was a little small in my opinion because we asked if it was big enough to share among 4 people and he said yea but it wasn't lol. For one person it's a lot of food for sure, lots of fries but ribs were small and not a lot of meat on the bones. Shrimp appetizer was my favorite! Lots of flavor and I love the garlic oil that it comes with. I also don't know what's going on with that red pepper action in every dish lol it's like a little flare I guess xD Overall I'm giving 4 stars because of how good the service was and how welcoming the hosts were. They really make you feel right at home! Also nice flavors as well but just portion sizing could use some work. I had a great experience :)

We found a spot on the big covered street patio, which was absolutely buzzing. Nearly every table was occupied, there were several other four-legged patrons relaxing with their humans, and somehow the whole thing still had an easy, laid-back neighborhood feel. Exactly what I needed after a very demanding day of being carried around Montreal. Mum and Dad ordered a couple of drinks. Then they ordered the popcorn with Manchego, chili and lime. Friends. This was not ordinary popcorn. It arrived piled ridiculously high with chili-lime seasoning and what may have been the finest Parmesan-adjacent cheese shavings these eyes have ever witnessed. Editor's note from Mum: It was Manchego. Whatever. There was cheese. I became extremely interested. Mum and Dad kept saying things like, "Oh wow, this is really good," while eating piece after piece directly in front of me. I believe the official hospitality term for this is hostile dining. Still, Henrietta turned out to be exactly the kind of place we love finding while traveling: not somewhere we necessarily planned our entire day around, but somewhere we wandered into, sat down with the dog, ordered a couple of drinks and suddenly realized we were having a really nice afternoon. The covered patio is especially great because you still get all the Montreal street life without feeling like you're sitting directly on the sidewalk. And judging by my fellow canine customers, I wasn't the only one who approved. Dogba's verdict: 4.7 paws out of 5. Drinks for the humans: plentiful Fellow four-legged patrons: several Covered patio: excellent Signature popcorn: apparently phenomenal Quantity of cheese within sniffing distance: alarming Quantity of cheese allocated to Dogba: we need to talk Would return. The prices are what you would expect from a nice restaurant, a bit expensive but fair, and they have numerous selections to choose from. I hadn't tried Portuguese fried sardines before and they were quite delicious, and served with lemon and a spicy piri piri sauce that really enhanced the dish--big portion and had leftovers! The grilled Chorizo was delectable as well, with the charcoal flavor really shining through--not too spicy. My favorite dish was the Pork and Clams stew, a classic Portuguese surf and turf dish that was a little potato heavy but the flavor was perfect with hints of lemon, red pepper paste, and a salty, but not-too-salty brine on the tender pork loin. Another dish I tried was the grilled pork medallions: it was a bit average but still good. The potatoes were a little soggy/not crispy and the green salad was a touch too simple with just balsamic vinegar and olive oil; nothing special, but decent. The grilled Portuguese chicken was pretty nice and had that charbroiled/grilled flavor and the meat was quite juicy. The large serving is enough to share if you aren't too hungry and came with same sides as the pork medallions dish, which felt a bit repetitive... The waiter was very attentive and checked up on our table often. Good service. I prefer Aldea, another Portuguese restaurant a few blocks away, since they had similar prices and a bit better quality, more uniqueness of flavor...but if you are feeling a more homey, family-style energy then Casa Minhota is perfect for you.

The side is a happy Portuguese tiled experience, which I say with authority having dined in the most Portuguese place, Ironside neighborhood of Newark, NJ. The music is extremely well chosen Portuguese modern music which greatly enlivens the entire mood. I cannot say Africa things about the food. We came during Montrèal Restaurant week, locally called MTLáTable, which has C$27 3-course brunch specials which are ssoooo gooood, our party of seven ordered all different dishes and the quality presentation and unique cooking style of each one is to be complemented. Clearly the prep staff made fresh choices of ingredients of every type. Many highs include the unique drinks menu and the happy staff whose attitude make you want to go straight to Portugal, a famously idealized land & people, appropriately so. Salud!

Portuguese food fit the bill and Douro had exactly the menu we were looking for with sardines, croquettes, caldo verde, and tons of fish and seafood choices. We started with a salad, caldo verde (both included with our mains), two perfectly-sized bacalao croquettes, and six garlic shrimp. We had a choice of three daily fish special: Icelandic cod, branzino, and Arctic char. My wife had the char and I had the cod, both elegantly and perfectly prepared. The Portuguese wine list is extensive and I was even recommended a new favorite! It's near Little Italy and out of the way from the usual tourist routes.
