Tried the Pir palace for the first time tonight. Didn't book in advance becasue we were actually planning to go elsewhere. When our first choice was fully booked, we drove past the Pir Palace and decided to pop in and try.
£9.50 per person for a 3 course Indian buffet. Think this deal is on Mon Thurs evenings.
Arrived in to see only another 3 people eating.
The waitress was very friendly and efficient. Told us we could opt for the buffet or the a la carte menu.
We chose the buffet.
A plate of mixed pakora was put down to us (potato, chicken and veg).
Not bad, but then again.. can you go wrong with pakora?
Main buffet consisted of popadoms, spiced onions, doughy nan bread, rice and 6 of the more popular indian dishes.
All which seemed pleasant. Nothing spectacular.
Price includes a tea or coffee, which we opted for.
Along with a coffee came a free chocolate (choice of after eight or other)
Glee soundtrack playing in the background just at a nice level.
In general:
