I used to live near here and was visiting friends so we decided to go for a wee ruby on Saturday…read morenight around 8 ish, the place was fairly busy but we were seated without any delay and within a minute of sitting down complimentary spiced onions and poppadoms appeared which we devoured . We ordered a drink from a very friendly chatty waitress who and within 5 minutes or so they arrived i had a pint of Kingfisher which went down very well. We were informed the buffet was ready for us and made great haste to it, the starter selection was good, the usual favourites where all there and i liked the Chilli Chicken which was bang on spice wise and and they even had chips and pizza on the buffet ( most places i go to will charge extra for chips nice touch i thought). The starters done we headed for the mains again a good selection and some authentic veggy versions which my mate loved, i kept being called back to the buffet by the South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken.mmmm Nobody had any room left for the sweets which is a shame as the chocolate fountain looked inviting. The restaurant itself appears to have new owners since the last time i was in and they had two parties down the bottom with a singer on a stage with star lighting etc which seemed to be going down a storm,we were informed entertainment was a regular thing on friday /saturday nights. Overall a good meal and a restaurant singer you could listen to , its well worth seeking this place out and dont let the location put you off its a hidden gem behind The County Inn off Dukes Rd.

First - don't be fooled by the outward appearance - India Palms is in a horrible, decaying building…read morejust off the A724 and served by a rutted, potholed car park - if you have a brand new car don't park it here would be my advice. Inside it's a bit grotty and dated as well.....artex ceiling, Ikea candle holders, peeling wallpaper etc. But the food and the staff instantly make up for all this - this is a stonking good value for money all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant, the food is good - the curries are full-on, not watered down like you get in a lot of Indian buffets, and outdoes a lot of the overpriced and underwhelming places in the centre of town. They do an extensive takeaway menu as well - not that I've tried it. All the staff are fantastic too - if only the place looked a bit better!!!
