This is for a first-time take-out visit. First is the appetizer we chose. It was a lamb chop pop and it was the best thing we ate. It came with 4 chops and a strange side that couldn't be quite identified. It was sort of like a bread product shaped like a triangle, very dry and an unpleasant texture for us. The excellent chop saved the day. One main course was the pork ribs. The serving was very generous, the meat so tender it literally did fall off all the bones, and the smoky flavor quite good. The pulled pork sandwich was generously filled and had the same smoky flavor. The sides chosen were potato salad and beans. The beans were okay but did taste like canned ones and had very little meat in them. The potato salad was fine for those who like theirs with big chunks of potato, but we prefer a smoother potato. It was a disappointment. The desserts chosen were both a huge disappointment. The peach cobbler tasted like canned peaches and had a very off-putting flavor. The apple bread pudding was literally almost all bread and had far too large chunks of the bread rather than preferred small pieces. As for the apple, it could not be tasted at all and we only found one very small piece of apple in the large serving. I will say that the Cinnamon ice cream that came with the pudding was delicious and at least gave us one decent sweet item. All in all, we might try again (especially for the lamb chops) but will not be in any hurry. read more

I was recommended to Dave and Piper Belles by my friends at The Restaurant Store. We were looking for a lunch catering and were super friendly and easy to work with. Dave was very timely during the delivery and even brought chafing dishes to keep the food warm. We went off menu and ordered "trays/lbs" of food. The pulled pork and chicken were amazing. We have a chef in my group that is picky about bbq and he was raving. The wings also had an excellent crisp to the outside. We had an employee try the sweet potato souffle for the first time and loved the "dessert" option :) Very happy to support this local business. read more

Tonight I stopped in to @piperbellesbbq and I treated myself to a bbq dinner- and WOW did they knock my socks off! My plan was to get something to go, but the atmosphere in the restaurant is so nice I decided to sit at the bar and enjoy my BBQ in house. (By the way, no alcohol served but BYOB) **************************** Their menu contains just the right amount of options and it didn't take long for me to pull the trigger on the beef brisket/pulled pork combo with smoked mac n cheese, street corn, and some of the best damn collard greens I've had in a long time. The meat was delicious of course- even better paired with the three sauces I felt were the standouts (pictured), the street corn was smokey and with a slight hint of heat, the smoked mac was everything you'd hope a good mac and cheese could be... and the greens! The greens themselves were definitely fresh, they have a sort of hot honey flavor to them which surprised me on the first bite- but I'll be honest they were the only thing on my platter that I finished. Whew, so good! The cornbread was heavenly. Just the right amount of stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouthness. If you know, you know. Even the sweet tea is noteworthy- definitely fresh brewed and not overly sweet. I sucked down two glasses! ***************************** I was too full to finish my platter- I brought more than half of my meal home which makes the $40 tab pretty well worth it- and I also had my apple bourbon bread pudding boxed up. Now, bread pudding is one of my all-time favorite desserts so they had some big shoes to fill in my opinion. When I returned home with my doggie bag I went right in for a few bites of my dessert- which was paired with a nice creamy vanilla bean ice cream, I might add- and HOLY SMOKES. Not too sweet, the bourbon flavor is very subtle, and every bite melts like butter in your mouth. *************************** You guys- I didn't go in expecting to write a whole food review, but damn is this place worth it! Please take my advice and make Mountville your next stop for a good BBQ lunch or dinner! I know for me, Piper Belle's will be in heavy rotation from now on! I'm stoked that they opened this brick and mortar close to my house so I don't have to chase their food truck whenever I'm craving some brisket! Oh my gosh! Run to this spot in mountville as soon as you can! We were there last night for my birthday and not one complaint from my family of 6 and my mom usually complains about something everywhere we go. We had the wings, sausage, pulled pork, pulled chicken and the brisket. Large portions and absolutely better than mission. And did I mention the sides? Holy moly- the sweet potato mash, pineapple coleslaw, brisket beans, cornbread and fries were absolutely amazing! Our service was sweet as pie, very welcoming and super hospitable. I had the brisket sandwich and it was cold and gelatinous. It tasted like it was a few days old, and very reminiscent of crock pot roast. They put a gob of what I thought was supposed to be bbq sauce and it tasted like rancid ketchup. I paid $15 for a measly sandwich not even a side was included. How they have a brick and mortar baffles me. I expected way more for what I paid. Will not buy from them again read more

Got the bourbon bacon pork fries and smoked Mac n cheese at the Elizabethtown fair. Unfortunately I didn't get a bite of the Mac n cheese because my kids ate all of it. I'm guessing it was good if they didn't let me get to it. BUT the bourbon bacon pork fries are as good as they sound! Great portion of crispy fries with cheese, smoked pork, bacon, and a bourbon sauce on top. The pork was moist and had just the right smokiness. Got a $9 pulled pork sandwich at the Lebanon County Fair. The sandwich was small, on a generic hamburger roll, with what appeared to be tomato sauce. I asked if they had BBQ sauce and they said that it already had it on it. I would definitely suggest asking people if they enjoy that sauce or not since I found it to be bland and not what I would define as BBQ sauce. Would not order from here again. read more

I had the opportunity to check out Piper Belle at a local Yelp event. The pork BBQ sandwiches were steaming hot and HUGE, with a generous helping of meat. The pork is tender and moist, and VERY smoky. I tried the Blood Orange Siracha and Pumpkin BBQ sauces. The Blood Orange Siracha is a well balanced sweet heat, and helped to cut the smoke of the meat. The pumpkin really tasted like apple BBQ to me, but since apple goes well with pork, it worked. I wish they were local to Harrisburg...I'd like to have this for lunch downtown! read more

Bought from food truck at Cassel's Vineyard. Pulled pork was good, moist but without much smoky flavor. It came with a unique bbq sauce already mixed in--sweet and fruity. The sandwich roll was a typical small nondescript hamburger roll and did not match the caliber of the meat. Or favorite part of the meal was Old Bay cheese fries. read more

Spending the day at the Lititz Springs 4th of July celebration I passed by many food trucks and the one that appealed to me the most was Piper Belle's BBQ. Unfortunately, my excitement was short lived once I was handed my TEN DOLLAR pulled pork sandwich on a standard HAMBURGER ROLL. If that wasn't bad enough, the amount of pork on the roll barely covered the surface of the bottom of the bun. BBQ sauce was also very bland. Bottom line.....get yourself some better rolls and give people their monies worth of pork on the sandwich. Jazz that sauce up up bit as well. BBQ tastes VERY offputting with a "spoiled meat" taste that hopefully was the smoking process and not the meat. Since their "smoky mac & cheese had the same weird taste (a little like barf) I assume it's the process, not the meat. Cole slaw was excellent though. Also very big sandwich bun with great taste. But I couldn't eat the sandwich or the mac & cheese. Maybe this was a bad day. read more

Our Porky's Salad tasted like burnt dingle berries! Awful! Friendly staff though. But never again. The pulled pork hit the pallet like a toasted shit sandwich with a sweet tangy slaw which was actually quite good but was shoveled on the top of the "Salad" like buckets of litter on a kittens morning dump.
