Hot new restaurant in Hamilton, we were told about. Piper Arms on Stone Church Rd across from the Old Cause and Effect restaurant. We made a 6 pm reservation for Valentines Day and were seated right away. Our waitress was on point. She took our drink order and they arrived in 10 minutes. What we found right away is all the staff and the owner all work together. Another gal brought out our drinks. When our waitress came by I explained I am Diabetic and could I have the house soup beef barley. That also arrived in lighting speed. Wonderful soup. Reasonable $6. Phil ordered French Onion Soup came loaded with melted cheese. Only $8. Anywhere else your paying $12. Dinner I ordered sirloin steak and lobster tail came with mashed I switched for salad and it came with vegetables. $24 and this meal was cooked perfect. The lobster was a good size and cooked spot on. Phil had Sirloin Steak mashed with vegetables. $24. The atmosphere is between British pub with a touch of elegance. 12 TV's at least 15 draft on tap. The waitress was very tentative asking how each course was. She use to work in Toronto and live there. But came home to Crystal Beach to help with her mom. Drives back and forwards to come to work. Had dinner here. We didn't have to wait for table on a Friday night. We opted to sit inside even though there was a nice patio area. They offer a huge selection on the menu. Took us a while to look through it. Food came out quickly after we placed our order. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was very good. read more

Decent service food was actually better than I expected. I would recommend that everybody tried this place once or twice.

Great local pub. We often visit the location at brock and Winchester. The staff are amazing and the food is great. The ambiance is great with tons of TVs to watch sporting events. They have great specials everyday including half price apps on Mondays and wing day on Tuesdays. Z is an amazing host and manager. She does a fantastic job. Try and of the food. We were regulars there....very regular. Piper started out as a nice place to eat. It has begun to go downhill. Here are a few of our complaints. -It's VERY loud. -They were burning incense. They sat us right where they were burning the incense near the kitchen. We asked to be moved. The incense burning stopped. We assume they had many complaints. It was just horrible and strong. -Here's a big one for us. The waitresses are dressed INAPPROPRIATELY.....tight leggings to the point we could see the shape of what's between their legs. Low cut tops, and some even so short showing mid sections. We guess they're told to wear black which they do, but it's what they wear that shocks us. We do not want to see what they have under their clothes. Low tops with much cleavage. It's actually very disgusting. We had been having conversations about not going there anymore. On our last visit for lunch.....as regulars......We were told the 'boss' send the waitress over to our table telling us we had to leave. The table is reserved now. This was AFTER we had eaten. We were having a tea and talking. There may have been about 8 people in the restaurant. We could have been offered another table where no one was sitting. 85% of the tables were available at that time. I guess they just wanted us to hurry, drink our tea and leave. Well, they got their wish....WE WILL NEVER BE BACK. As i'm reading through some of these one star reviews, they do not surprise me at all. Soon we'll see another restaurant go bust in this town. Food? It's ok. Our last few visits we had to send food back to the kitchen. We'll be watchng for the slow death of this restaurant. Enter at own risk. Bring your blinders with you so you dont' have to see naked girls serving you, unless you like that. read more

This place is cursed, the service is absolutely ridiculous as it was for Mother's and the Kelsey that was there previously. It's like they kept the same staff. The food ...... typical pub food that you get anywhere around here but badly cooked. This place when it first opened was great and my family would often visit regularly. Tonight April 12 2023 i went with my 25 year son my wife and my 12 year old daughter at 6:30pm We were met with sorry no kids in the bar area . We have only ever eaten in the bar area at all hours of the day and night. Pipers has gone down hill and some of the servers are rude including the nasty bartender today. Pipers, you have just Lost regulars including my extended family and their children ! Great move !!!! read more

First time at the Piper Arms Pub. This will also be my last time at the Piper Arms Pub. The food was absolutely horrible. The apps were cheap frozen food. The ceasar salad was brown. Not really sure what the cauliflower bits were made from and the fries were a bag of frozen McCain fries. The Lobster Lovers meal was just ok. The pasta had no flavor and it was my fault to think that a Pub would have great tasting lobster. They did not offer us water or brought out any condenments. Giving it 1 star because I have to. Amazing food and service, very competitive pricing. The quality of the food was fantastic, with well balanced dishes.

This place had quickly become a family favourite and we had attended a dozen times. Unfortunately as fast as it became a favourite, it also landed on our do not return list due to poor food quality, lack of attention from staff and the dreaded "manager never replied to my email". From uncooked food to overcooked food, to extra food charges ... Returned food, food not arriving ... the last three visits had just gone downhill. Medium well steak was bleeding all over the plate and soaking the mashed potatoes. The jumbo shrimp returned because they were rubber and unable to be cut with a knife even, only to be sent back as 5 small boiled shrimp. Fajitas with 3 shells and $1.00 charge for another. Wings that were so overcooked the bones were all breaking off in your mouth. One order of ribs had 4 bones, the other at the table had 7. And i'm still waiting on the veggie sticks to arrive :). When we explained to the server it was a rough meal and we were very discouraged, her reply was "well, better luck next time". UGH! All it would have taken was a manager to email back so we felt appreciated for the $150.00 we spent that night on a horrible experience. Too late. Lots of other options. read more

The daily specials are definitely fantastic look into those before you make the trip. The Chicken BLT poutine was the best I've had. The 79 cent jumbo wings for the Tuesday special are why I will keep coming back. Do yourself a favour and order the Caesar Parmesan wings, you won't be disappointed. We were sat with menus and had to wait about 10 minutes before a wait staff came over (it was not busy, around 2 pm on Sunday). We placed our order, which included appetizers and entrees. when our food came, it was an appetizer and an entree and a few minutes later followed another appetizer and entree and lastly my son's meal. the wait staff blamed the kitchen for the order the food was delivered. the appetizers were very hot and our entrees were on the cooler side of warm. all around a very bad experience, and this is our third time and it's been similar each time. read more

Food wasn't good. I had a steak that was over cooked and I could only eat about half of it, because it didn't taste very good. The mashed potatoes were cold. My wife had pasta and she also didn't enjoy it. She only could eat about half the meal as well. It took quite along time to receive the bill, but I could forgive for that because they were quite busy. I can't forgive them for the crappy food though. I came on a Friday night with my family and although the food came relatively quickly, my lobster and steak were both overcooked and the rest of my family said their meals were unflavorful and my mother even said the bok Chou in her stir fry felt and tasted unwashed, like there was sand or dirt in it. We were excited to try Piper Arms as a new option in Kitchener. We went on a weeknight, and although busy, we were seated pretty quickly. It seemed there were not enough servers to manage the workload, as they were all running like crazy. The food took a long time to come out, and we didn't think it was anything overly special. We have been here several times(4) and the fifth was not a charm, our server was really nice and efficient, manager rude food not up to par at all had to argue at the table for the bad tastes and uncooked seafood and pasta. Again manager not very good at customer service, skillet fajitaa being served all around our table were so Smokey my wife and I both had to step outside to get fresh air from all of the smoke in the dining area, not an enjoyable nite out at all. We arrived at 6 pm on a Friday night. We expected a table wait and did so until 6:30 pm. We promptly ordered at 6:40 pm. We did not receive our dinners until 7:40 pm. At approximately 7:15 pm, we asked our server (Dawn - who was very helpful, by the way) many times for an update on the ETA of our meal and the Manager could not give us any reply whatsoever. Rather than trying to assist with the delivery of our meals, he repeatedly reminded us how "busy" it was. When our meals eventually arrived, they were cold and the poutines' were lacking cheese curds. We ordered the Chicken Poutine and Cuban Club (with a side of poutine fries). On Dawn's initial recommendation, we should have gone with the Fish and Chips, Curry or Stuffed Yorkshire. However, it was our first, and more than likely, our last visit. read more

Can't even say they tried. Party of three arrived at 5:15 on a Sunday. Made a reservation and our table was waiting for us. Good start right? Our party ordered nachos, side salad, fish and chips, and the lamb burger with poutine, 2 beers. It took over 45 minutes for our food to arrive and while waiting we noticed only one table actually had food. Burger and poutine arrived cold, literally cold to the touch. The nacho cheese was already hardened onto the paper liner as though it had been sitting for 20 minutes waiting to be served. Very few chips and the majority had turned to mush. Asked for the manager. He offered to remake the lamb burger and poutine. Waited another 15 minutes for the replacement meal. They didn't charge us for the burger. All the food was subpar. We ordered in from here looking to try something new. While some of the flavours were ok, it definitely wasn't the best I'd had for this price point. We started with the antojitos, which were presented in an unconventional manor. Quite flat and skinny compared to most versions, but had an ok flavour. I got the Yorkshire Pudding. The pudding itself was a bit tough for my liking, but the meat and gravy had good flavour to them. The potatoes were quite dry and the vegetables were so undercooked, I had to finish cooking them at home. My wife got the pulled pork quesadilla, and the pork itself was amazing, but the quesadilla as a whole wasn't the best blend of flavours. It also arrived in a crushed box (which may not have been their fault. There is no way to know when it collapsed before delivery). For desert we split a lemon lavender cheesecake. It was delivered still a bit frozen in the middle (which may have been intentional to ensure it was still cold on arrival. I don't want to be too harsh with everything going on). The lemon flavour was overwhelming and the portion was on the small side for the price. All you could taste was the lemon and lemon zest flavour and it was quite unpleasant. I feel as though this restaurant may suffer from an overly expansive menu making it hard to really focus on perfecting their dishes (a smaller menu would also make their chefs lives easier), and I don't think I'll eat at or order from here again unless they make some changes. read more

I had to give 1 star because I couldn't give 0. We've been 3 times to give them a fair chance but it just kept getting worse. Our first visit we waited 40 minutes for an order of nachos: we ended up cancelling the food order and left. The 2nd time was ok. Tonight we received rock-hard overcooked wings, and the fish was undercooked and raw at one end. Very slow service and the waitress spent most of her time socializing with a table of her friends. She did not check on us during the meal so we were not able to tell her about the issues. When she finally came over after we finished eating what we could, she seemed surprised and said 'oh, I wish you had told me earlier'. She brought take away containers, but not the bill - we had to go ask for it at the bar. Then she seemed surprised again and said 'oh I thought I already brought that over'.
