I remembered seeing Mr. David's truck in our area. I called him and he came over immediately. He was incredibly nice, helped me turn off the water, drain the tank and, since it was a Sunday, told me he would be back the following day to replace it. He was up front about the cost which I appreciated too. He showed up when he said he would and got the job done faster than I anticipated. The job ended up costing a little more than originally estimated but he explained why. Taking out the old tank was more complicated than originally anticipated and, given the mess we had and the difficulty of the job, I felt the additional cost was totally justified. The only draw back is that he doesn't accept credit card payments. That's not always convenient for a customer but, I really do know how expensive it is to accept credit card payments and the hassle of fighting chargebacks. I respect that as a small business, it's not cost effective for him to accept them. I would highly recommend Mr. David. A small side rant to those other "professionals:" If you don't want to be contacted "after hours" for emergencies, don't put an Emergency Contact Number on your advertisements. Oh, and swearing at the person who called a number you published as an emergency number isn't acceptable!

Today, Jim came out to replace my outdoor faucets with frost-free ones and upgraded the pipes with copper ones. I feel good doing this because it will prevent the pipes from freezing and bursting. I hadn't realized that to access one of the interior pipes, Jim had to go into my crawlspace. He kindly and carefully navigated around all the stuff in the room where the crawlspace is because I had not known that I would need the area cleared. After more than a week I had to call another service, the other company took care of the issue and noted an error in the work . When I felt necessary to write a review on Google I received an absolutely unprofessional reply stating "I don't know why we didn't come back, sorry" and "this work was done 2 years ago" adding in an accusation that the second service was "bashing h20" and "that guy hasn't worked here in 2 years, have a great day" How is that service? I started making phone calls because my food from refrigerator was going to get bad, I needed someone to come right away. The only plumber that could make it right away was Drain Man Plumbing.
