It gets one star because i have to give at least that in order to leave a review. I have never in my life left a review but i felt i had to here.
Hands down, worst motel we have ever stayed in.. (I have done a lot of travelling and stayed in a lot of places) We were racing up at the speedway and needed a place to stay and this was less than 15 minutes away what could be better! Well a blanket on the rocky ground may have been a huge step up from this place. I also asked for extra blankets and pillows and the guy assured me we would have plenty..
First off, the doors!? They are cut in half, like an old stable from a barn. character maybe? efficient on the other hand, NOT at all. You could see outside all the way around! We open the door and the smell was borderline.. gross but in a dingy motel kinda way so i thought crack a window, no big deal. We had a bordering room as well so we went in there. Same smell and dingy dark lighting. The first room was barely bigger than the bed, a bathroom that was not a bad size but upon examination you could see outside through the shower drain!? The second room had two beds and a not so bad bathroom.
I discovered as i tried to plug some chargers in that the only outlet i could use was jammed way behind the cabinet that the tv and tiny fridge sat on. the other outlet in the room, when i plugged something in, it fell right out! inconvenient! This cabinet unit stuck out about 3 inches further than the bathroom door so the door couldn't even open up all the way. an average person can fit through but anyone with a little extra weight wouldn't even be able to get into the bathroom...
We pull back the nasty top blanket that looks like it has been around since the early 80s and find a thin little blanket and gross sheets complete with, cigarette holes in them! How classy! I pulled out the extra sheets from the drawer and they had stains on them!
The second bedroom had sheets that had blood stains on them! i'm sorry, but what do sheets cost? For what we paid for the room, Im sure they could afford to buy a few sets!
The night was a chilly night and around 2am the drafts in the rooms were so bad we decided we needed the heat, but of course its an electrical heating unit on wheels that is all rusted and has been around since they bought the blankets. we plugged it in and never got heat out of it. even in a working outlet. Oh and the fridge never got cold either. They unplug it and leave the door open so you have to get it going yourself.
Id hate to see how old it gets in there in winter time. This place may be fine for someone looking for a cabin/camping feel. But for someone travelling with 7 people (a few of them children) this place is not it. Check out the lodge down the road. I hear it was great. read more
