Conveniently near the highway, rooms are very spacious, well supplied and clean. Breakfast is included. Service is welcoming - we arrived earlier than the 3:00 PM checkin and the front desk was very gracious. An excellent value!

We feel very relaxed when we are there, and actually hate having to stay in hotels on our drive up or when going back home. The cottage is very relaxing, cozy, and comfortable. There is a lovely selection of teas and coffees available to have with Ammi's absolutely delicious homemade blueberry muffins! The porch and garden are beautifully tended and there are multiple places to sit outdoors and relax. Ammi is a talented artist and she has a small gallery of work on the premises where you can view and purchase her vibrant work. Her artwork is also on display in the cottages. Ammi's attention to detail, her keen eye for decorating, her wonderful personality, and her genuine care for her guests is what has made this place extra special. We will return again and again!!

They said the cottage was just right for the three of them, and was very comfortable and clean with all the amenities. Ammi and Kevin were perfect hosts, and coffee on the porch in the morning with her homemade blueberry muffins was relaxing and a perfect start to the day. The room was comfortable, the hosts super-genial, and the breakfast was tremendous - one of the best we had in Maine, actually. The husband is a former chef, and the wife teaches yoga classes and does massage. Perhaps the most surprising part is the price. I'd expect to pay twice what we did. I'd go back in a second, and if I had a friend visiting Maine, would not let them go until I saw an email confirming their stay at Snow Squall.

After doing a lot of research I ended up with Snow Squall because it looked like the perfect combination of price and quality and I believe that's exactly what it turned out to be. Prices are listed on their website and in my research I could find no deals on travel sites so what is listed is what you'll be getting your room for (still a good deal). The exterior and interior of the Snow Squall is absolutely beautiful with attention paid to every detail, I can't get over how immaculately clean and gorgeous this place is. Paul (the co-owner/chef) was a true gentleman, he was very kind without being over the top and was a absolute pleasure to deal with. He's also an amazing chef and made the most amazing breakfast of pancakes with a berry sauce w/ fresh berries as well as ham/scallion/gruyere scones. The pancakes (though perfect) were only only about 5" and you only got 2, thankfully Paul had set up a table with cereals, scones, yogurt, fruit, and juice. Again it would have been nice to have a second option, maybe something with eggs but I didn't leave the kitchen hungry and the food was awesome. The dining area was set up with a number of tables and chairs so you didn't have to sit with strangers. In fact you didn't need to interact with any guests or feel as though you were in some sort of hostel at all, just a very comfortable big house with plenty of privacy and hospitality. The B&B had a couple of very comfortable living rooms which I wish I had taken advantage of as well as a couple of very cute and friendly cats. The rooms are not equipped with TVs and the room I had (the Flying Eagle) had a stall type shower which was alright but bigger would have been ideal. Snow Squall is located right on Route 1, a fairly major road in the area, although it's not that noisy you won't get absolute silence if that's what you're after. Personally coming from NYC I hate absolute silence and I need a passing car every once in a while so this wasn't an issue. Also the town of Wiscasset is very tiny so if you want a bunch to do you'll have to drive 20 or so minutes to Boothbay Harbor down the way (also not really a hassle whatsoever). All in all Snow Squall and Paul were both very charming and it's a really nice place to visit.

I booked this property through RCI as a Hilton Grand Vacations property owner. Upon arrival, I learned from documentation in the room that RCI is the property management company. Also, there is no front desk onsite. Check-in is completed virtually over the phone and by email. I believe this is an important point to know, although I wasn't aware of it at the time of booking. Because we started our vacation over a week before arriving at this location I missed the email they sent prior to our arrival and I was chastised for not checking my email (while I was on vacation) until I arrived onsite. (Yes, the attitude this was annoying, but not enough to take a star off my review.) This was my first virtual check-in experience. The process begins with an email they send containing a welcome letter, map of the property, the code to enter the room, and the password to the Wi-Fi network that's private for each room. The email states "Attached is your check-in letter including your room code, Wi-Fi password and maps. My office hours (I'm located remotely in Killington, VT) are Thursday - Sunday 9-5 and Monday 9-2 should you have any questions." The welcome letter was professional and contained the name/phone of the housekeeper that resides locally. The letter is complete and made it possible to complete a smooth virtual check-in. They also provide a property map that shows the complex consists of a lot of buildings and units. As for the grounds, they're beautifully landscaped with flowering trees and bushes. Facing the bay, there is a gazebo, fire pit, and long well-lit dock to a sitting area and kayak launch. It's very beautiful and a great place to watch the sun rise or set.

It did change ownership's this year, I met Mike the farmer owner and he was very gracious And I'm sure he ran a great in. The current owners are doing a magnificent job as well. I unfortunately do not know the name of the woman who works the front desk. I am sorry for that because I would like to give her a big shout out. She was most gracious and very helpful every time I had a question. We got two rooms. My friend stayed in room 18 which has its own bath and a queen size bed. It was lovely and it was on a corner so she had two windows. I stayed in room 13 it had two twin beds and a sink in the room but the shower and toilet were across the hall. I've stated other places where you have to share a bathroom and this end was different in that the Bathrooms were assigned and only two guest rooms shared each bathroom. My bathroom was never occupied. I'm not sure anybody was in the room that shared my bathroom but if they were, I never saw them. As you do have to walk across the hall to get to your shared bathroom, guest robes were provided. The bed was comfy. You could open the window and enjoy the island breeze. The room, both my guestroom and the bathroom were very clean. One thing that was surprising given the age of the building and that the hotel was pretty full was that it was quiet. I've never heard anyone outside my room or really any noise at all. There are several small rooms off the lobby, where you can sit and read or just enjoy an intimate conversation. All the furniture looked to be in good shape. Nothing was shabby or worn out. There is a porch out in front of the Inn that overlooks the water. It has rocking chairs on the porch and Adirondack chairs out in the yard. It is lovely. Unfortunately it was a rainy day. The first day we were there, but that didn't deter us from exploring the island. The hotel has a refrigerator where you can place your own bottle of wine or anything you need to put in there. But it is a bit tight so don't expect that you're going to put a lot of food in there. The Inn has a restaurant and I'm going to review that separately. Breakfast was included. I would definitely stay here again if overnighting on Mohegan Island..
